Evening Royal style and beauty fans.
Into the Carolean era, with more bling we hope! Also more state banquets?

Guessing by Cam's outfit, I'm going to say yes.

to continue...that he wants to make the Monarchy a little less stuffy, which for some reason they always think is a very important message to send, and more relatable. I think it’s a highly significant photograph for other reasons too. Here is the true ‘Fab Four’ (trite made up media rubbish soundbite for sure, but it does have some relevance) and the heart of the Monarchy for years to come.

Agree, definitely @NiqueNique
My mum says if a lady has that country chic thing going on (tweed, feathers and long boots, natch) that "she looks very county". No idea what that means, but it is ill advised to disagree with my mum 😂
Mum will actually buy tweedy clothes on the basis that she thinks she looks "very county" wearing them. Usually just to Waitrose or her dog club...I love my mum and all her eccentricities!
Love Camilla's outfit there (very county) 😂😂

NiqueNique · 02/10/2022 16:32

Yes Charles and Camilla are still in Scotland.

NiqueNique · 02/10/2022 16:36

Heh @Eaumyword i like your mum!

I love tweeds, feathers, boots and so on. Your typical Barbour et al. But haven’t got dogs/horses/country pile so it’s just the aesthetic itself for me (although we do live on the edge of rural/farming land, which I absolutely love!). Sadly I’m no longer very slim, so I wouldn’t say I look anything like Kate when I dress like that! Camilla’s a bit more achievable, bless her. 😄

SenecaFallsRedux · 02/10/2022 16:53

I like that look too. Here in the US, it's fairly easy to achieve thanks to Ralph Lauren, but a bit impractical here in the warm coastal South.

Maireas · 02/10/2022 17:06

I love autumn clothes, I really don't like the summer.

I like Camilla's tweedy with added pearls look, it reminds me of the Country Casuals style of bygone days, they would have used that very colour combination! I like the jaunty feathers in her hat too, pheasant tail feathers perhaps? There is probably no shortage of pheasant feathers up at Birkhall.
Charles & Camilla are off to Dunfermline early this week, it's where the first King Charles was born.

SenecaFallsRedux · 02/10/2022 17:56

This is already earworming in my head.

The king sits in Dunfermline toune
drinking the blude reid wine,
"O whar can I get skeely skipper,
To sail this ship o' mine?"

I was just about to quote the same poem!

I like autumnal clothes better in theory than in practice. Lots of layers and cashmere etc look good when I step out the door but I'm roasting by the time I get on the tube!

NiqueNique · 02/10/2022 18:11

Oh I love autumn, and I love autumn dressing too! The typical palette is all my favourite colours, so I’m always very happy.

Onprozacandmyhighhorse · 02/10/2022 18:28

The House of Bruar Winter catalogue is out if anyone fancies having a look at tweeds and country duds 😇

KillingMeDeftly · 02/10/2022 18:39

God knows why but I used to get the House of Bruar catalogue and it was hilarious. So much tweed and tartan!

Didn't we share some of those images a while back? I think we had a bit of a giggle!

Oh dear. I'm afraid I have a secret love of HoB. Not huge swathes of it, but they do some lovely cashmere jumpers and cardigans, tweedy blazers, and I even have a lovely swishy merino dress from them.

I even some some real graduated pearls, but I generally wear them with something less obvious than country casuals, or what I shall now, thanks to @Eaumyword's mum, be calling 'very county'!

chesterelly1 · 02/10/2022 19:05

I can't confirm whether there are any Royal purchases from House of Bruar but once when we were staying in the McDonald Hotel in Aviemore the shop which is pretty much a smaller HoB wasn't open one morning and when we asked why it was to allow Princess Anne to shop before leaving in a helicopter for her next engagement. We didn't even realise she was staying in the hotel.
Charles & Camilla are visiting the City Chambers to confirm our city status made as part of the Platinum Jubilee, then to Dunfermline Abbey as it is 950 years old. My friend's daughter is a member of a choir singing for them. I have fully briefed her that we need style deets in particular are the boots out yet and what bling is on show.

NiqueNique · 02/10/2022 19:09

Oh the boots, how I’ve missed the trusty boots!

I wonder if she’ll treat herself to another pair for A/W this year. She is Queen Consort now, after all...

SenecaFallsRedux · 02/10/2022 19:29

I had a similar close encounter with Anne when we were staying in Newtonmore a few years back. She was there in connection with her support for equestrian programs for children with disabilities.

paradyning · 02/10/2022 19:34

I think those colours really suit Cams

MotherofPearl · 02/10/2022 19:40

I'm here for #bootwatch

AdaColeman · 02/10/2022 19:53

I'm sure that when Camilla broke her toe, her first thought was "This would never have happened if I'd been wearing my black boots".

NiqueNique · 02/10/2022 19:58

@paradyning they really do, don’t they! She has lovely eyes.

Spudlet · 02/10/2022 20:00

When I broke my toe, my trusty boots were the only footwear I’d consider for ages. I was terrified that someone would tread on my foot and they were sturdy boots!

Camilla is a woman of steel to have been walking around in heels on a broken toe… mind you, she’s not just horsey, she’s a hunting woman. They tend to be pretty much nails. Probably dosed herself up with bute every morning 😂

NiqueNique · 02/10/2022 20:06

I broke my little toe many years ago and it hurt for years!
