I've made a decision, it will be this year. Can anyone recommend a surgeon for the upper bleph that they have personally used?
If you can provide pictures that would be so great. Thanks in advance!

Oh wow a real like update! Well done op looks like a good choice. I may have missed it - were you awake?

I was awake. I felt no discomfort though beyond the injection which wasn’t that bad at all.

I think I'm going to go the same route as you OP as also WFH and have no one to drive me. Love reading the experiences of people on here which has helped me decide to go for it!

I'm pleased I did that now. On the Zoom consultation before the op James did say that the less you do in the first 48 hrs the faster your recovery will be in terms of swelling/ bruising and I can imagine that if I went home and DS was there and there were bits to do then it would be really easy to forget that I'd just had a surgery because you do feel back to normal a few hours later.
Get a room with a fridge, I stocked up the day before with fruit pots, a nice wrap etc in case I couldn't face taking my face into a shop afterwards! I didn't care in the end though I went for the Prem Inn brekki both mornings after!

The day of the op I went back and chilled, listened to pod casts all afternoon and then logged in and worked from the room on the second day. The op was Monday morning and I didn't check out and leave until Wed lunch time.
Copper Gate is quite a bit cheaper than the same surgery in the SE too so it's worth a few hundred for a comfy stop over.

Thanks for the updates OP, you're looking fab. Do you mind my asking how old you are? I have the folds like you but also some creping, I'm 60. I used to rub my eyes like mad every day after taking out my contact lenses, so I've probably stretched the skin 🙄 But I can stay near York so it might be a good option for me, looks like they've done a fine job.

I used David Johnson consultant plastic surgeon in Oxford for this . Incredible results (I had upper and lower) .

I wish I'd known about him. I had under eye bags removed by Titus Adams in Oxford and have been left with an obvious pit and tuck in the corner of my eye that I have to hide with makeup.

I'm 43, I did have a couple of crepy folds too. I tried to temp fix with some Botox last summer while I was still deciding on surgeons and it really showed the crepyness off for some reason.

@itwasntmetho just wanted to thank you for sharing your experience and photos on here. I am considering it but very scared, as i guess everyone is. I am in South and will also have no one to drive me so will think about doing it the way you did. I get bags under my eyes so was wondering on getting upper and lower eeek

itwasntmetho · 12/04/2023 19:34

Okay stitches out about half an hour ago. There is a bit of swelling that should settle over the next few months

PardonmemynameisAlice · 12/04/2023 19:46

That looks brilliant, what a difference. I think I've made my mind up to do it when I get the chance.

Soonthen · 12/04/2023 19:52

You look fabulous. Thanks for sharing all of this.

LulooLemon · 12/04/2023 19:55

Amazing result OP. I can see you're really smiling too!

Dontsayyouloveme · 12/04/2023 19:56

Amazing! Are you ecstatic like I was after having mine done? You’ve done fantastic on the swelling and bruising front! 😊

Kangarude · 12/04/2023 20:10

You look amazing OP

itwasntmetho · 12/04/2023 20:12

Thank you ladies.

@Dontsayyouloveme I am really really excited, I honestly think I might love that surgeon and the lady who held my hand trying to make conversation while I rattled around like a bellend having it done. I'm soooo glad I did it and I'm really really pleased I started the thread so I knew about Coppergate.

If you ever look back at this thread thank you so much for the many Coppergate recommendations ladies.

Wow you look brilliant. I'm really tempted and not too far from York.

Is it likely to need doing again in the future do you know?

ArcticBells · 12/04/2023 20:17

You look fantastic OP. Can you remind me who did the procedure for you please

You look so good! That surgeon is going to be inundated 😁

YouOKHun · 13/04/2023 21:52

It looks fantastic @itwasntmetho and you should be delighted. I must say I am envious, I am in a much worse state than you were (I mean, you weren’t in a state at all, you looked great before!) I’ve had a few very tough years which have really aged me (and I am pushing 56). I have to raise my eyebrows every now and again as my eyes feel so tired with the weight of my eyelids and I have bags under my eyes too. I am hoping to get the money together soon though the chance of actually getting it done does keep moving further on to the horizon. I have seen such a variety of prices quoted for upper and lower blepharoplasty from c.£3k-10k.

Thanks for sharing, it’s really informative to read about the process and see your great result!

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 05/05/2023 12:39

@itwasntmetho you look amazing! I’ve just booked an appointment with David Cheung (thanks Mumsnet) but now will be looking at Coppergate.
I wouldn’t make a decision on price but it does seem to be a lot cheaper too.

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 05/05/2023 14:00

@MissStarry @MyCatsSlave did either of you go ahead with your surgery with Mr David Cheung? If so, were you happy with the procedure and outcome? Thanks.

Oh wow a real like update! Well done op looks like a good choice. I may have missed it - were you awake?

You're pretty much always awake for this procedure. Sedation is given as an option but I didn't have it as I don't like the feeling of it. That said, the feeling of having the skin sliced off your eyes isn't so great either 😉 Not that you can feel it as such bit there's definitely still a sensation there.

OneFrenchEgg · 05/05/2023 16:33

Ii had laser eye surgery - not pleasant but it was ok.
