I've made a decision, it will be this year. Can anyone recommend a surgeon for the upper bleph that they have personally used?
If you can provide pictures that would be so great. Thanks in advance!

@OnthePiste Have you had your consult with Saul Rajak yet? Do you know how much an upper eyelid surgery costs with him?

Thanks

Not yet but it is £2,200 in Worthing (Consultation £200) or £2,600 (£180 consult) at the Nuffield Brighton

I’m 4 weeks post and scars are healing well.

this photo is 12 days post surgery - very happy.

Looks fantastic. What a great result. You must be thrilled.

skilikeagirl · 08/06/2023 00:07

That is amazing!

Slowgrowingelm · 08/06/2023 07:35

Thank you @OnthePiste
I recently saw Sabrina Shah Desai in London (for something unrelated). I was very comfortable with her but the London costs are just too much for me. I’ll try Mr Rajak for a consultation.

@Imabouttoexplode Can I ask where in England you had yours done? I know you said a friend had a bad experience but I can’t see if you say which area you were in at the time…

NV42 · 08/06/2023 07:56

@EyeEyeEyes It looks amazing! Such difference. May I ask who did the operation and how much did it cost please?

This looks amazing! Its weird how such a small adjustment can make such a massive difference - your eyes look at least a decade younger.

I'm a name changer. It was in Cheshire.

Here's my before and after photos. Got mine done in 2019 and so glad! I look much less tired.

@itwasntmetho @EyeEyeEyes I am so pleased this has popped up today. I have an appointment tomorrow to discuss upper blepheroplasty, there is no point me putting either eyeliner or mascara on my eyes especially one of them because my lid is over my lashes. I hate the shape of my eyes now because of droopy lids.

I am trying to find out as much info as possible before booking so I can have things in place. Did anyone wear eye protection at night? I have a fear of rubbing my eye and ripping out the stitches. Am thinking of either wearing those eye shields like they gave my Grandad when he had his cataracts done or something similar. I am also a side sleeper so will need to create some kind of head nest to keep me propped and on my back.

Did you all ice your eyes? US recovery seems to be icing your eyes for 2 days then swapping out to a heat pack for a day.

Imabouttoexplode · 08/06/2023 16:18

No I didn't use any kind of shield and nor did I ice. I slept propped up for a couple of nights, which was tough and I didn't get much sleep but eventually you just fall asleep with exhaustion anyway!

DroopyLids · 08/06/2023 18:22

@Imabouttoexplode thanks for that. I will definitely need something over my eyes, I know what I am like from c sections and almost pulling the cannula out in my sleep.

skilikeagirl · 08/06/2023 19:51

@pharmachameleon looks great, such a difference!

NV42 · 08/06/2023 21:25

@pharmachameleon You and eyeseyeeyes have given to me the confidence to do it. Such difference. May I ask who did the operation and how much did it cost please?

DroopyLids · 08/06/2023 21:38

I agree @pharmachameleon they look amazing

pharmachameleon · 09/06/2023 06:53

@NV42 thanks. I'm in Scotland so a recommendation probably isn't any use to you. I think I paid only around £1k but I did sone work at the private hospital I got them done so had a friends and family discount. Not sure how much it would have cost otherwise. Maybe £2k now?
Scotland is way cheaper than London prices!

Thighlengthboots · 09/06/2023 07:36

Another vote to do it for those thinking about it- best thing I ever did and it was such a simple procedure.

My hooded eyes were getting worse with age and hung down to my lashes. It was frustrating as I could never wear eye makeup properly. Before and after a here too:

Slowgrowingelm · 09/06/2023 08:40

@Imabouttoexplode thank you!

NV42 · 09/06/2023 08:43

@pharmachameleon thank you. Some well known surgeons in London they charge £15000 believe it or not. So I might have to go to York or elsewhere to have it done.

Runaround50 · 12/06/2023 18:03

Has anyone had this done for Horners syndrome? Thanks

VIVS63 · 22/06/2023 17:00

I had mine done at Coppergate Clinic yesterday (Chris West), along with the VR facelift. The eyes were done really quickly, and apart from a few stings when the anaesthetic went in, it was painless. There's some bruising but not as much as I thought there would be, and I've had no pain from them at all. I can't really see the effect as yet as the steristrips are in the way. I'm due back in the end of next week when the steristrips will be removed along with the stitches, and I'll put some pics up then! The cost for the eyes was £1,995. I can't recommend Coppergate Clinic enough. Everyone was really friendly and looked after me very well. Chris and the theatre nurse Kirsty were outstanding.

I had my upper blepharoplasty done at Coppergate in February. Fantastic staff and surgeons. How was the VR lift? I’m thinking I might need that in a couple of years. X

VIVS63 · 22/06/2023 18:33

Hi, it was relatively pain free, but when he was putting the anaesthetic inside the cheek it felt really odd and uncomfortable. Apart from that the procedure was fine. Obviously I'm a little puffed up today, and there are two pockets of fluid either side of the chin which are painful to touch. I was told to expect this though and the fluid will seep out through the scars gradually over the next few days. The worst thing is that you have to wear a compression garment on your head (see pic). This needs to stop on for 2 weeks, day and night( you can take it off to wash it so long as you don't leave it off for more than 2 hours). It's not uncomfortable, it just looks awful 😐
