Dress

I kinda love it but appreciate that many might think it's heinous 🤣. Have seen it on a few people on Instagram and it looks lovely. Cotton as well.

Have bought and will try on but it could go either way.

The pattern kills it for me. Don't mind the shape of it at all. Looks comfy, but very few people can pull those colours off. It doesn't even look nice on the model.

SirenSays · 05/05/2022 13:35

Vile but I'm 99% my grandmother had that exact print on an old cushion cover

starfishmummy · 05/05/2022 13:37

I like it, but people will think you are pregnant.

CorsicaDreaming · 05/05/2022 13:39

That is so gloriously seventies that I love it.

I would stage a 70s fancy dress party just to be able to wear it.

100% reminds me of a bedspread my parents used to have though 🤣

Enko · 05/05/2022 13:44

I love it and going near a big tesco today :)

CorsicaDreaming · 05/05/2022 13:44

If you are nifty with sewing, it would make a fab tunic style top over bell bottom flared jeans and a skirt worn with a simple black fitted t-shirt

Theonlyoneiknow · 05/05/2022 13:49

Nice holiday dress for this summer but I expect it would be in the back of your wardrobe next year!

PorkPieForStarters · 05/05/2022 13:54

Reckon it also depends on your colouring, I like the dress but I much prefer it on this model:
tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/PETITE-Retro-Floral-Square-Neck-Dress/140539593-MultiColoured?searchTerm=:newArrivals&searchProduct=

@CorsicaDreaming love the idea of turning it into a top, might buy one and try this!

LolaStrange · 05/05/2022 13:57

I'd like it if it was darker tones instead of very bright. Almost florescent. Should gone for more ochre and burnt orange

I love it and going near a big tesco today :)

It's sainsburys x

SocksAndTheCity · 05/05/2022 13:58

I've ordered it! I don't use icture apps or read magazines though, so this is the first time I've seen it Smile

CorsicaDreaming · 05/05/2022 14:00

@PorkPieForStarters - yes you're right, it looks lovely on her.

But it does still look like a dress where you need to grab a big hat, bottle of Pimm's and go punting!

Although I can think of worse looks.... Grab a bottle of WKD and be sick behind the pub toilets...

Kittykatmacbill · 05/05/2022 14:00

My mum had this as a nightdress up to about 1984

Cocolapew · 05/05/2022 14:01

I love it 😍

EvilEdna1 · 05/05/2022 14:03

Late 1970s caravan curtains.

PorkPieForStarters · 05/05/2022 14:07

@CorsicaDreaming sounds like a great day out! The first option, that is...😂

Riverlee · 05/05/2022 14:15

Enko · 05/05/2022 13:44

I love it and going near a big tesco today :)

It’s Sainsbury, not Tesco, and I may have just ordered it online…

Purplecatshopaholic · 05/05/2022 14:19

I love it. Lovely and retro print, nice fabric
and a great price

MinglingFlamingo · 05/05/2022 14:24

My gran circa 1975 rang she wants her curtains and her sofa back

It's a nay from me

Zilla1 · 05/05/2022 15:48

Does she still have the curtains? Vintage fabric meets a seamstress ...

LadyOfTheCanyon · 05/05/2022 16:09

I love it! Would look dreadful on me but if you're tall and slim knock yourself out!

I'm considering buying it and turning it into a maxi skirt.

PorkySisyphus · 05/05/2022 16:53

Am not tall, slim or tanned 🤣🤣

I am, however, a shortarse and in my haste to look like a 1970s themed galleon in full sail I ordered the regular one without realising there was a petite version. Have now ordered that as well so clearly haven't been put off by the majority of the comments ☺

Spent my 20s in a self-hating uniform of baggy black clothing so am making a conscious effort to have more fun with clothes and to wear things that spark joy.

Oh I love it! I'll probably add it to the collection of dresses I love looking at in my wardrobe but never wear as I don't think I can pull it off!

custardbear · 05/05/2022 18:01

Special people only can love that dress

Jellykat · 05/05/2022 18:06

I love the print, reminds me of my youth.. but id have to wear it with fuck off boots and jacket! i.e 'this is retro, not floaty wafty' 😀
