Dress

I kinda love it but appreciate that many might think it's heinous 🤣. Have seen it on a few people on Instagram and it looks lovely. Cotton as well.

Have bought and will try on but it could go either way.

Ha! It looks like the dress is now selling for more than its shop price on eBay!
It'll be interesting to see the final price!

Pics of me, 51 short, chubby size 12/14 in the dress, I love it!
This is a size 12 one, neckline pic to shoe its wonderboob effect.
Washed it and let it dry on a hanger didn't need to iron.
Ty OP!

Puffalicious · 17/05/2022 17:53

You look fabulous Heather the same size made me look huge! And I don't have your boobs to emphasise!

HeatherShiver · 17/05/2022 20:40

Ah ty @Puffalicious !
I had started to wonder if I was deluding myself!
I am a sucker for an exciting print tho.

Puffalicious · 17/05/2022 22:25

Not deluding yourself at all. I had so wanted to love it but I looked like a heifer! You strut your stuff.8

Fine if you were pregnant in the 70's

Lucienandjean · 17/05/2022 22:36

I like it, but them I'm a bit vintage myself. I think the one downside is that some people will assume you are pregnant.

Not flattering of figure and dreadful colour.

SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit · 18/05/2022 13:47

Yay, you look amazing @HeatherShiver Love your hair colour too!

This is the size 18-20 version. Tallish, age 54 (and looking every minute of it!)

Sorry, too many of me!
Not sure how that happened!

HeatherShiver · 18/05/2022 14:07

@SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit love it!
Looks great with jacket and I love the necklace 😍

Riverlee · 26/05/2022 18:39

Was about to put ‘jeans and a nice top’ to meet up with friends, and then thought, what’s the point of having nice dresses if they are going to stay in the wardrobe, so wore this marmite dress today. I had two compliments about how nice and summery it was and Absolutely loved wearing it.

( @SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit , where did you get your necklace from?)

SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit · 27/05/2022 16:25

@Riverlee the necklace is an oldie... pre 1960's 'faux' (glass) amber. Got it on eBay for about £5 a few years ago! I love old things.

I wore my dress out last weekend for the first time on a shopping trip to 'nearby City'. I wonder why I bothered though.... everyone else there was wearing the usual jeans and trainers!
I felt good in it though 😊

NameChangeObvsx1 · 09/01/2023 00:26

reminds me of my first ever ‘continental’ quilt.

Shitfather · 09/01/2023 11:14

Ooohh tricky one. I think it very much depends on whom is wearing it (tall and willowy) and how’s its accessorised.

HPLikecraft · 09/01/2023 11:23

This is last year's thread!

I have this dress though, wore it last summer/autumn and loved it. It always got comments - often along the lines of reminding someone of their grandparents' caravan curtains!

Shoemadlady · 09/01/2023 11:29

Think it depend how you wear it. With some little ankle boots and a denim jacket could look quite cute, but if you're big busted then it could look a bit mumsy.
