Dress

I kinda love it but appreciate that many might think it's heinous 🤣. Have seen it on a few people on Instagram and it looks lovely. Cotton as well.

Have bought and will try on but it could go either way.

Love it! Personally, I see the resemblance to my Granny's curtains as a positive.

familyissues12345 · 05/05/2022 12:01

I've got a friend who would carry that off beautifully. The rest of us? Nah Grin

AverageJoan · 05/05/2022 12:02

I love it!

Pbbananabagel · 05/05/2022 12:02

LOVE this! Wish I wasn’t still breastfeeding but might get it anyway for days when I’m not with baby

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 05/05/2022 12:02

My friend has this. She looks fantastic in it.

MakkaPakkas · 05/05/2022 12:02

Yay! Love that 70s fabric

RuthW · 05/05/2022 12:03

Love it

DeclineandFall · 05/05/2022 12:03

With the right colouring and small bosoms you could prob get away with it if you liked it. Me - I'd look jaundiced and channeling my inner Hattie Jacques.

Dazedandc0nfused · 05/05/2022 12:03

Yay! I would buy it for myself but I agree with a previous poster than you need a warm skin tone to pull this off. I am as pale as they come unfortunately.

IvorCutler · 05/05/2022 12:04

It would look awful on me but I quite like it!

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 05/05/2022 12:04

I like it a lot, but I have a thing for orange 70s prints. It reminds me of some sunloungers we had when I was a kid, except the background was brown not white.

I've seen this on a plus size woman and it looked great. I think she wore a belt with it. Normally I'm a fan of a clash of colours but she had pink hair which was a bit much for even me!

ZenNudist · 05/05/2022 12:05

Nay the shape is terrible and the pattern is baaaad.

I actually recognise the pattern from a set of ramekins my mum had from the 70s.

Paperyfish · 05/05/2022 12:05

I love the pattern- but am short and plump and would look even shorter and plumper in it. Would love to buy and re fashion it. Unfortunately I lack the skill!

Finfintytint · 05/05/2022 11:05

If you love it, then wear it.
it’s not for me though as it reminds me of a continental quilt cover I had in the seventies 😁

This really made me smile - I’m also of the vintage when duvets were referred to as ‘continental quilts’ because they were so new and exotic, but I haven’t heard that phrase for years!

I don’t dislike the dress, OP - it’s not a flattering cut but it looks casual and comfy for summer. Whether or not the fabric works for you will probably depend on your colouring.

Notarealmum · 05/05/2022 12:07

Really like the fabric, great colours, and the square neck. I’d wear it.

Butteryflakycrust83 · 05/05/2022 12:12

Have this dress, love it - nothing but compliments. Reminds me of my nans curtains!

Im size 24 too - just wear what you like. Taste is subjective and personal! Life is too short to worry what other people think.

ClinkeyMonkey · 05/05/2022 12:13

I like the fabric, but not in a dress. I really like the shape of it though.

balalake · 05/05/2022 12:16

If you have pale skin, perhaps if you are a redhead, but not otherwise.

CutesyUserName · 05/05/2022 12:16

Another nay here - my PIL had that wallpaper in their bathroom (70s).

Bigboysmademedoit · 05/05/2022 12:16

We had to make a dress in P7 (showing my age here) and mine looked very like this (yes, it was in the 70s). My mum made me wear it to a Christmas party 😂. Definite nay from me!

Toddlerteaplease · 05/05/2022 12:17

I like the colour but the fit isn't flattering.

WhatIsThisPlease · 05/05/2022 12:17

My parents had bed sheets in that fabric in the early 70s.

It's a no from me, not just because of the fabric, I think the style is horrendous too.

AnotherTroyforHertoBurn · 05/05/2022 12:18

Pass the eye bleach.

Synchrony · 05/05/2022 12:19

I think it looks awful on the model but could be ok on someone else.

Shmithecat2 · 05/05/2022 12:21

If you're tall (5'9 minimum) with no boobs but a good tan, go for it.
