Dress

I kinda love it but appreciate that many might think it's heinous 🤣. Have seen it on a few people on Instagram and it looks lovely. Cotton as well.

Have bought and will try on but it could go either way.

😍i love it

Loopytiles · 05/05/2022 18:41

if it suits you on and you feel confident in it, great!

Makinglists · 05/05/2022 18:42

My childhood curtains are alive and well! If you were a child in the 1970s it will haunt you. Maybe different if you are younger and didn't spend your time looking at those patterns.

May and thrice nay

Looks like my nan’s curtains

Yep, my grandma had those curtains too.

IWishIWasABaller · 05/05/2022 18:45

I love it and I'm sickened that it's sold out in my size , have seen it in so many people online and it looks so gorgeous. Way nicer in real life than in those pics

SomersetONeil · 05/05/2022 18:48

A lot of you seem to have no recollection of the 70s.

While the fabric is straight of someone’s bedspread….

…no self-respecting woman would have worn a dress shaped like that. Confused

Giggorata · 05/05/2022 18:49

I'm far too old for a dress like that but I think it will look nice on a younger woman on the slim side.
Not my colours, but if you're dark and tanned I think it would pop.

SomersetONeil · 05/05/2022 18:50

*off

Ameanstreakamilewide · 05/05/2022 18:51

It looks like Homer's moo-moo.

GolfForBrains · 05/05/2022 18:52

My grandma had curtains like that in her caravan.

Don't buy it yet, it'll be half price in the sale.

Eightiesfan · 05/05/2022 18:53

I have one from Emma Mattinson that is a very similar style, it looks fab with sandals or boots. This one is more summery but I’d go for it, they are super comfy as well!

sunshinesupermum · 05/05/2022 18:54

I remember this as a furnishing print in the early 70s. Yes I am that old and if you love it, wear it 😀

Puffalicious · 05/05/2022 18:56

Ha! I bought this in store as I liked the retro vibe. Like others have said, the fit is all wrong: it's big in all the wrong places and not flattering at all. It made me look much bigger than I am (12/14).

There is a skirt in it you may like better...

Vidax · 05/05/2022 18:57

Yuck

A marmite dress for your perusal. Yay or nay?
Musmerian · 05/05/2022 18:57

Horrific. Like 1970s vinyl wallpaper.

RollOnWinter · 05/05/2022 18:58

I can't imagine that style would be flattering to anyone unless a pregnant woman. It's probably very comfortable, though

mewkins · 05/05/2022 18:58

Love the pattern. Would prefer it as a sleeveless sundress so I'd be tempted to chop the sleeves off.

CottonSock · 05/05/2022 18:58

I quite like the print, but the cut makes even a model look large.

AnneKipankitoo · 05/05/2022 18:59

MIL has kitchen curtains like that , so no.

Whisp3r · 05/05/2022 19:01

I am short so it is not for me but I have tall friends who would rock it.

londonmummy1966 · 05/05/2022 19:05

When DDs were little I used to buy vintage pillow cases to make dresses for them - bit like this but without sleeves and with a bit of gingham contrast. Great to know I was ahead of the trend.

LubaLuca · 05/05/2022 19:15

It's very Hattie Jacques. A very large woman with a very small dog wears it, in a deckchair on a pebble beach eating a Mr Whippy.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 05/05/2022 19:15

Finfintytint · 05/05/2022 11:05

If you love it, then wear it.
it’s not for me though as it reminds me of a continental quilt cover I had in the seventies 😁

I had the same one! Scratchy nylon, not warm at all.

Also reminds me of the hallway wallpaper.

LowbrowVictoriana · 05/05/2022 19:19

I love it and have bought it!

Am looking forward to being transported back to my 70s childhood when it arrives.

Pamlar · 05/05/2022 19:21

I think it's so awful it's cool. I would stick a denim jacket on top.
