Is Princess Madeleine in Sweden atm or still living in the US?

Bearsbearsbears40 · 01/05/2022 22:54

I don’t have a new thread title to suggest, but there are some new pictures of Princess Charlotte out just now for her birthday. Apols, I’m not sure how to link them, but I am sure they’re easy to find and they are so cute. She looks very like William.

Goodness, she does look like a young William in those pictures! They're sweet, really relaxed and natural. I can't believe she's 7.

There's a Tatler article on Sophie & Edward's trip popped up in my newsfeed - pictures of all Sophie's dresses, a few have escaped us ladies. My favourite are the Day 5 dress, although she's taken a leaf out of Kate's book and teamed it with the most godawful shoes; and both Day 6 dresses. I shall attempt to copy the link

KillingMeDeftly · 02/05/2022 08:17

Sophie looked nice on tour but not sure I'd ever call her a "style muse!

Lovely pics of Charlotte. I thought their dog died but perhaps they got a new one.

KillingMeDeftly · 02/05/2022 08:20

Oh wait, just seen that the DM URL says new pup.

chesterelly1 · 02/05/2022 08:25

Style Muse is definitely a stretch KillingMeDeftly but it is Tatler so expect a certain amount of sycophancy.
I love that the new pup is another black working cocker spaniel, it means I get to have something in common with them againGrin If I was Kate I'd have umpteen dogs to use up the baby names I liked that I couldn't use with the children.

100problems · 02/05/2022 08:28

Happy birthday Charlotte. Lovely photos.

Dear Sophie has similar hair to me, I am a martyr to humidity in the Caribbean 😔but surely the embassy could’ve rustled up a hairdresser.

All the shoes are just woe, but a special shout out has to go to her metallic cruise shoes. Ghastly.

LadyEloise10 · 02/05/2022 08:59

I prefer her, as you call them "metallic cruise shoes", @100problems to the ghastly espadrilles with ribbons up around her ankles. Smile
Some of the dresses are very pretty and practical in the Caribbean sun.
Pale blue really suits Sophie.

paradyning · 02/05/2022 09:00

CPV and MM plus ones, really like a Vics' dress

I just came on here to post that Tatler link - I really like Sophie’s Caribbean dresses (and yes, let’s just gloss over the footwear… hopefully it was all comfy in the heat…)

I particularly like day 3 dress (which doesn’t tell you who it’s by) and day 5, but they’re all pretty and things I might wear on hols, give or take a few £££, probably.

Not a style muse, no, but a more relatable stylish person - the sort of mum I’d be envious of at sports day and regret shoving on my scruffy shorts.

hopeishere · 02/05/2022 09:21

The white trousers and green top outfit would have been better with white trainers! And more practical too. Edward looks like such a grandpa!!

Whitney168 · 02/05/2022 09:24

Charlotte looking more like her Dad now, she was always very Queen-like but a mix of the two now I think.

Whitney168 · 02/05/2022 09:27

Bearing in mind that I'm sure that little the Royal Family do is not deliberate - I wonder if there was a conscious decision for Sophie to dress far more casually on this leg of the Royal Caribbean visits to address the 'tone deaf' comments from K&W visit. She is certainly more than capable of some fabulous dressing, and this does seem to be very low key, particularly on the footwear front.

KillingMeDeftly · 02/05/2022 09:50

Its interesting how royal dressing has evolved. Sophie is now older than HMQ was at C&D's wedding and William and Harry's christenings but her style is much more youthful. HMQ already looked elderly by that stage and wore similar clothes to her mother.

Iwasfeelingepic · 02/05/2022 09:56

The picture of Charlotte on her 5th birthday reminds me if a young Scarlet O'Hara.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/05/2022 10:17

I like the look of her day four one where she's looking at the pictures on the stalls, although I haven't seen a picture showing the skirt. I agree that the pale blues suit her.

Happy birthday to Charlotte. Smile

MotherofPearl · 02/05/2022 10:26

Lovely photos of Charlotte for her birthday. I'm rather envious of her jumper!

Hi everyone! Couldn't post for ages due to the bloomin' update...back now with a slight namechange! I've missed lots. On Gustav and Carina, it's great that they're finally able to marry. As pp said it definitely wasn't just about a courtesy title - it had to do with inheriting a considerable family fortune; somewhere in the region of £500,000,000 IIRC. Anyway I expect they're thrilled that it's all over now and they can move on. They're getting married at Berleburg Castle, I think.

The turquoise and diamond earrings that CPM wore to Isabella's confirmation were part of her very special 50th birthday gift from Queen Margrethe, along with a turquoise brooch. Both of these belonged to Catherine the Great of Russia and have been passed down through the years, finally ending up with Crown Princess Margaret (Ingrid's mother) and presumably were then given to Margrethe, or inherited on Ingrid's death.

Amongst other instances, Queen Margrethe has worn the jewels on several important occasions: Anne-Marie's wedding in 1964, Haakon and Mette-Marit's wedding in 2001, Prince Henrik's birthday in 2009, as well as at a gala dinner for the Chinese State Visit in 2012.
