Looooove Kate's outfit today. Looks sublime on her. The fit and proportions are perfect on her.

KillingMeDeftly · 27/04/2022 17:15

It's a no from me - looks more appropriate for someone Anne's age, though she would probably ditch the boob pineapples! The colour is also a snooze.

gluenotsoup · 27/04/2022 17:35

Its a no from me too… too long, too fussy, bit frumpy. She is beautiful and can take a look much more up to date than that. Anne looks good though.
I don’t mind the high neck floral dresses, they don’t suit me though, I’m not tall or edgy enough to carry them.
Edo and CP looking very sharp and well groomed there… easy on the eye. 👍🏼

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 27/04/2022 17:36

I've just noticed that Anne has great legs!

MotherofPearl · 27/04/2022 17:42

Thumbs down from me for Kate's outfit. Skirt too long, colour insipid, and the 'boob pineapples' as Deftly dubs them look fussy to me.

Anne looks good and she does have great legs.

GrouchyKiwi · 27/04/2022 17:44

I love Kate's suit but not the colour. The embellishment is interesting. Anne's suit looks like a nice classic style, as you'd expect.

Maireas · 27/04/2022 17:54

Anne looks good. I'm guessing she bought that coat from Susan Small in 1973, and the scarf was a gift from Tim 😉.
I wish Kate would just relax a bit - the recent jacket and trousers was a more modern look, but still quite formal. A skirt suit is tricky to get right proportion wise.

Don't quite know how to word this without sounding vile but.......I don't think they are great legs. They're like Megan's......totally shapeless and twig like. Kate has awesome legs otoh, like Victoria Beckham. Really shapely with a great ankle.

I immediately thought pineapples too! I think Anne looks lovely in that coat and love the powder blue.

hopeishere · 27/04/2022 18:14

I love Kate's outfit. So elegant. I love the skirt length! Colour is maybe a bit insipid but overall lovely. Anne looks great too.

Serenster · 27/04/2022 18:15

I like Kate’s outfit (minus the boob pineapples - what on earth are they doing there??) and world wear it myself - it’s quite a “posh Ralph Lauren Safari” look that I like. I don’t think it fits her well though, the waist needs to sit lower on her. Anne’s definitely had that outfit a while…

I do think that Bea has had a bit of a glow-up since being with Edo - she looks considerably more groomed and soigné these days.

I genuinely liked Sophie’s latest floral tea dress on her Caribbean tour!

I like the colour but a splash of contrasting colour would have improved it. The weird embroidery - hideous and dated too. However, I hate this cut of jacket on her, it just doesn't fit right whenever she wears it so the skits looks all wrong.

Exactly this! Big snooze.

Maireas · 27/04/2022 18:42

The latest Sophie dress is nice.

Looks like Kate's been shopping in Per sun a again. Oh dear.

frugalkitty · 27/04/2022 18:55

Per Una!!! Honestly, that's what I typed, and it changed after I'd previewed it. I am not liking the app change one bit <grumpy middle aged woman face>

Sophie's not in a dress today! Nice green top, white cropped trousers, espadrilles. Edward's outfit is a lot better.

OP posts:
MotherofPearl · 27/04/2022 18:58

Those shoes of Sophie’s! My eyes! They may as well be Fitflops! Blush

I love how Per Una is a byword for frumpy on here! Saying something looks like it's from Per Una is tantamount to a death blow for any outfit! Grin

Maireas · 27/04/2022 19:32

Maybe Sophie gets sore feet and needs Fitflops! Just be grateful they're not crocs (we're looking at you, Albert de Monaco ☹️)

OP posts:
MotherofPearl · 27/04/2022 19:35

Good point @Maireas. I think I'd repressed Albert's crocs.

frugalkitty · 27/04/2022 20:10

Per Una could be nice.....but they have a habit of chucking a load of unnecessaries on things. And I think when it was launched it was intended for the younger end of M&S shoppers, but got taken over by the oldies. Sorry, that sounds mean I know but I'm not sure how else to explain it.

DisforDarkChocolate · 27/04/2022 20:47

Per Una, home of the comedy button.

I have lost count of the items I thought looked nice and then when you got up close it has a random frill, unexpected patchwork or even worse. Who is buying this crap!

100problems · 27/04/2022 21:06

I reckon Zara was round Princess Anne's this morning and said "mum, you're going out with bloody Catherine, at least throw one of my scarves over your coat". Et voila!

Maireas · 27/04/2022 21:30

My Auntie used to work in BHS and sold Anne a hat about 15 years ago.

That pineapple ensemble of Kate's looks better in video with movement, but only just. It's a bit MOB again. Nothing against mothers of the bride, by the way, but when Michael Kors was a judge on Project Runway (was this on in the UK?), it was one of his favorite comments when he was underwhelmed by a design.
