Ghastly floral dresses in Sweden, Edo is the best dressed in that group, though he looks incredibly bored.

I’m not keen on Kate’s cream suit, no real unity in the design, just unconnected elements, it could have come from C&A.
Anne’s outfit could have come from Oxfam, it’s a pretty colour though.

Maireas that hat Anne bought in BHS, she will be wearing it next week, I’m sure! 👒

paradyning · 27/04/2022 22:20

I much prefer Anne's outfit today. Can't stop looking at Sophie's eyes though.
And those hideous shoes!

StartupRepair · 27/04/2022 22:45

Single breasted suit so much better on Ed. Hope he never looks back.

KillingMeDeftly · 27/04/2022 22:59

Max and family out and about for King's Day. I like mini-Max's green suit but I'm surprised none of them are in orange!

I like Sophies white wedge strapped espadrille sandals - wonder where they are from?

re the comments on her eyes - I am wondering if sh ehas had an eyelash lift treatment ? or perhaps false lahes or applying waterproof liiner in a different way ? i do like her though.

KillingMeDeftly · 27/04/2022 23:00

Letizia has also found a green ensemble. Contrary to what it looks like it's actually a top and trousers, not a jumpsuit! I prefer the top to the trousers, which seem a bit fussy, and though the colour is nice on her it's all a bit Gumby-adjacent.

Sophie looks the same to me. I think she's just wearing heavier eyeliner and false lashes.

MotherofPearl · 27/04/2022 23:33

Like the drape of Leti's top but agree about the Gumby vibes with that colour.

Sophie looks the same as normal to me. I wish she had access to a hairdresser as I assume Kate does on these tours. There's nothing wrong with her hair but I think having a professional hairdresser style it for her would give her look more polish. But presumably slimmed down monarchy doesn't run to that for Sophie.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/04/2022 23:54

Princess Anne does her own hair (try and look surprised Grin).

She said that she'd heard it took two hours to do the hairstyle for the actress playing her in The Crown and she said she thought "'How could it possibly take that long?’ I mean, it takes me 10 or 15 minutes.”

Maireas · 28/04/2022 07:14

"10 or 15 minutes" - love it!
No, Sophie doesn't have a hairdresser with her as Kate does (and Meghan did). Of course Charles is/was bankrolling those two so maybe the Duchy coffers won't stretch to Sophie. I think she's looked fine, appropriate, not over the top, suitable for the climate.
It doesn't look like she's had work done, but as pp said, it could be different eye makeup.

Not keen on Kate's outfit at all yesterday, I think it would have been better if they had kept the skirt as flared as designed! I dislike those pale colours on her.. eg outfit for Pippa's wedding. Hair fabulous though! She seems to be veering away from the crazy 80s style bouncy blow dries 😆 Edo clearly has a fantastic tailor - suit impeccable!!!

Gooseysgirl · 28/04/2022 07:37

(The whole CPM white saviour in Bangladesh hanging out with the Rohingya refugees thing has wound me up... sorry to get political, but Denmark are being dickheads and trying to set up similar Rwanda scheme for asylum seekers)

KillingMeDeftly · 28/04/2022 08:22

@Gooseysgirl I wasn't aware they were setting up a similar scheme but I was Hmm at the white saviour tone of the photos too. Mary does come across as having a bit of an ego.

RomainingCalm · 28/04/2022 10:18

I think the contrast between Kate/William and Sophie/Edward on their Caribbean trips has highlighted just how much support/entourage is needed to look perfectly dressed, groomed and coiffured at all times on these tours.

I've quite liked most of Sophie's floral dresses (less so the shoes) but she's reminded me of what I'm like on a hot holiday. I start the week with nice hair, fresh manicure and my favourite outfits all ironed and lovely. By Day 4 my hair has been attacked by heat, humidity and the pool water, I only have one pair of shoes that's still comfortable, I'm down to my last couple of least-favourite dresses, the casual 'boho' outfits look crumpled and not quite as boho as I'd hoped and the 'fun' bag I picked up at the airport is actually a bit odd.

All that said, I wouldn't swap it for having to always look immaculate and having someone always touching up my hair and makeup for the photos.

LadyEloise10 · 28/04/2022 11:40

Sweet suffering J*sus how does Max walk on those cobbles in those heels. 😮

@100problems - Zara calling around and telling Anne to up her game because she was doing an engagement with Kate 😀

I love Anne's no nonsense approach - a hat from BHS - no problem.

KillingMeDeftly · 28/04/2022 19:26

A couple more Leti ensembles from this week. I really like the deep red dress but the pale pink flowered coat with matching pumps would've been better left for Leonor or Sofia.

Leti looks good in red, as ever. Felipe looking sharp, too. I agree about the pink coat, it is a little childlike, somehow.

RomainingCalm · 28/04/2022 20:03

Leti is lovely in that red dress - the colour and shape are fabulous.but the pink coat thing makes her look like a doll - it's horrible.

There’s another Danish royal wedding coming up in early June - Princess Benedikte’s son Gustav, Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, will finally get to marry his girlfriend of nearly 20 years, Carina Axelsson. The couple didn’t drag their heels intentionally - the Prince’s grandfather was a literal Nazi who was killed fighting in WWII and the terms of his will meant his grandson would have to give up his title and inheritance unless he married a Protestant noblewoman of Aryan descent. 😕Carina (American, half-Mexican) was none of the above, so they have waited until they have been able to have the will overturned.

It will likely be a big family affair, as Carina has been very much a part of the Danish family celebrations in the past (much like Princess Lilian was in Sweden a generation before) and doubtless they will want to turn out for their long-delayed wedding. Here is the happy couple - I am very pleased for them!

Oh that's nice news. I thought they had given up and broken up.

MotherofPearl · 29/04/2022 06:14

Love Leti's red outfit. I think the pink coat looks too short and hence child-like?

Interesting about the Danish wedding.

We missed this (quite daring!) outfit from CPV a couple of days ago. I love the skirt but I'm not keen on that black belt.

gluenotsoup · 29/04/2022 10:08

Ooh, l like that one, it’s just more confident and playful, my type of outfit 😊

KillingMeDeftly · 29/04/2022 10:21

CPV has amazing shoulders and always looks so statuesque in off-the-shoulder tops.

banivani · 29/04/2022 11:12

Her dress is from Swedish designer Maxjenny shop.maxjenny.com/ (or skirt and top maybe?)

Had to share this photo of Queen Margaretha who died of an infection in 1920, current king's grandmother. Purely for the look on the faces of those two boys Grin

KillingMeDeftly · 29/04/2022 11:22

Don't they look thrilled!
