Checking into the lovely new thread- the seatbelt sign is on and away we go!

KillingMeDeftly · 27/03/2022 15:59

We got through the last thread quickly! Suspect the pace might be slower on this one.

frugalkitty · 27/03/2022 16:00

Well considering the frocky horror show that was the end of the last thread, the only was is up!!

Thank you for the new thread Maireas although I'm back at work tomorrow after my week off poorly with covid, so I may not pop in as much as the last few days.

Maireas · 27/03/2022 16:01

Oh, no, frugalkitty! I hope you feel better soon. Wear your tiara Wink

Maireas · 27/03/2022 16:03

@SeaRabbit. Fergie's milkmaid outfit.
Lest we forget.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 27/03/2022 16:03

Thanks @Maireas
Omg that yellow dress reminds me of all the monstrosities in the very early Next Directories.
I used to work for Next many moons ago & couldn't quite believe the frock horrors that were in the Directories circa 1989/90

However I still love that mustard Erdem Grindress

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 27/03/2022 16:12

How you feeling @frugalkitty?
I've been extremely lucky with my bout of Covid as apart from feeling a bit tired I'm more or less back to normal
DD even dragged me to a gig last night, didn't particularly want to go as it was one of her favourite rappers (but I promised I'd take her) but I actually enjoyed it though stayed out of the mosh pit this time!

Anyway back to frocks.....

KillingMeDeftly · 27/03/2022 16:14

Sorry to hear that @frugalkitty, my bout knocked me out for a fortnight. Hopefully Haakon can pop out of the airing cupboard to keep an eye on you!

Maireas · 27/03/2022 16:15

A gig, Tracy! Please tell me you wore your tiara?

OP posts:
TracyBeakerSoYeah · 27/03/2022 16:20

I did consider it but it was a little bit worried that it may have ended up flying through the air seeing it was Slowthai, as his gigs get a bit energetic what with clothes, shoes & beer flying everywhere 😵

Maireas · 27/03/2022 16:32

A lot of royals are attending Philip's memorial on Tuesday, I know that Felipe, Leti, Margarethe, Carl Gustav etc should be there.

OP posts:
Eaumyword · 27/03/2022 16:33

Hope you're both feeling ok Tracy and Frugal Flowers

I did a stint at Next too in the '80's as Saturday staff - you had to buy your own seasonal uniform at (I think) 30% off. But because we were lowly weekend students, we didn't get to choose our outfits, the manager made us buy what nobody else wanted!
I went on to work at The Body Shop as a hamper wrapper and LOVED it there!Grin

Thanks for the new thread @Maireas! Let's hope we have all recovered from the horrors at the end of the last thread. Grin

Northernlurker · 27/03/2022 17:01

I was thinking about the Erdem earlier. Even Kate knew she'd cocked up with that one and William's face was a picture.

Where to begin, Northernlurker?
Has it had a re-wear?

I'm not too bad now, just really tired but that's nothing new. It wiped me out for a good five days though, not ideal after only two weeks in my new job (but I got it from the kids so they can't moan too much!). A visit from Haakon would certainly cheer me up now and he could help out by finishing the ironing for me Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 27/03/2022 18:25

Thanks for the new thread. Star
