What do you think of this Ghost Wedding Dress?

I’m getting married in September, we are both mid-fifties and have been married before. It’s a small register office wedding with immediate family, followed by a family meal and then an evening party with family and friends. I have toyed with a mid length wedding dress but not really feeling it and my fiancé after chatting about the wedding is hoping to see me in a full length dress.

I really liked this Ghost dress online and managed to order it with a 10% discount. It’s a small which looked tiny on the hanger, and I still can’t believe it actually fitted. It needs a good steam, but does it suit me and my figure or is too hippy?

I like simple styles and unfussy necklines, definitely no plunging fronts. I’m wearing heels in the photo but would get a very slightly higher pair which would lift the length.

I don’t want to make the wrong decision, so would appreciate honest (but kind) thoughts please.

It looks as if it's cut on the bias, which is why it clings in all the right places and is still comfy to sit down in.
To emphasis the hour glass figure rather than thinking 'hippy' you could get a good bra with plenty of padding to even out bust and hips. Can you even have a self-coloured
narrowish sash belt that ties in a bow at the back to smooth the line between bodice and skirt?
I'm not a fan of the sleeves but I think you look amazing in the dress itself.

I've been reminded that we own a steamer, so when my daughter is back from Uni in a few weeks, I will get her to help me do this by which time I can get some higher shoes to try on too.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I love it, ruffles and all

I am planning a bouquet of peonies and simple jewellery. I have short hair so hair decoration/adornments don't always look right but I guess a tiara might, possibly a bit too much though!

I do really like it & you have an absolute amazing figure, the tight fitting tummy/hip area is definitely a style you need to stick with. However I can see what people are saying about the top half being frumpy. Like marginally… if I was at your wedding I would think wow, what a beautiful dress she looks amazing. But sitting staring at the photo I think you could do better top half up whilst keeping the bottom half exactly the same!

I'm not gonna lie--I didn't know Ghost was a brand, and I clicked on the thread wanting to find out what a "Ghost Dress" was (Ghosts printed on it? Ghost fancy dress?)

Now that I am over my disappointment over the lack of ghosts, I'll say that I love the dress. It's so elegant! You look great in it. If you also feel great, you've found the one. Congratulations on your wedding!

I really like it but I'd add a belt something like this to give it a bit of extra detail and make your waist look more nipped in.
There are loads of handmade ones on Etsy & eBay.
