What do you think of this Ghost Wedding Dress?

I’m getting married in September, we are both mid-fifties and have been married before. It’s a small register office wedding with immediate family, followed by a family meal and then an evening party with family and friends. I have toyed with a mid length wedding dress but not really feeling it and my fiancé after chatting about the wedding is hoping to see me in a full length dress.

I really liked this Ghost dress online and managed to order it with a 10% discount. It’s a small which looked tiny on the hanger, and I still can’t believe it actually fitted. It needs a good steam, but does it suit me and my figure or is too hippy?

I like simple styles and unfussy necklines, definitely no plunging fronts. I’m wearing heels in the photo but would get a very slightly higher pair which would lift the length.

I don’t want to make the wrong decision, so would appreciate honest (but kind) thoughts please.

It's a lovely frock, and the fit is beautiful on you! I really like the sleeve detail.
The length isn't quite right, and rather spoils the line, you'll have to see how it looks wearing higher heels.

Are you going to wear a hat? Or maybe a spray of orchids in your hair?

My god you have an amazing figure, i would have assumed you were in your 20s. I don't love the dress personally but i am a fat old gimmer who wouldn't even get one leg into it but it looks fabulous on you and seems appropriate for the occasion. Congrats.

I think the flounce detail on the shoulders balances out the hips beautifully and gives you a stunning hourglass shape. You look great.

I have one concern about the dress - if it's wrinkled now, is it going to wrinkle the moment you sit in it? If it looks perfect when you put it on, but wrinkles in the car so you arrive at the ceremony you're have massive crotch-whiskers, it's not great.

Honestly, I think it does nothing for you, sorry. It reminds me of one of those loo roll dolls. Too frilly at the arms and too figure-hugging for me.

You have a lovely figure but I do think the cut of this dress does emphasise your hips. I think the fact that you’re asking on here suggests that you’re not altogether happy with it yourself and it would perhaps be better to carry on looking. There will be a dress out there that you try on and go “oh yes, that’s the one!” without any of the doubts you have about this one.

I nearly went for a Ghost dress myself but changed my mind after seeing photos of someone wearing that same dress and it looked really creased in all the photos!
