I live in jeans - need some everyday trainers as I’m sick of walking about in black ankle boots!

I’m 40 if that’s important

Just to add, I’ve just picked them up and omg they are so comfortable! Feel like slippers! But I’m not very stylish so not sure if they look shit or not

I don't like them op but they aren't my style. If you aren't stylish and don't care about fashion does it matter?

I wear Adidas

Jojoanna · 01/03/2022 15:50

No I wouldn’t wear them , but if you like them ,, age is irrelevant

EmmaGrundyForPM · 01/03/2022 15:51

I'm all for comfort over style - I'm a very unfashionable 55 year old. Personally, I think they don't look great but if you're them, then wear them

EmmaGrundyForPM · 01/03/2022 15:52

that should say "if you like them, wear them"

catfunk · 01/03/2022 15:52

Sorry but no they're not very stylish. Nan on a walk type shoes.

ShittyFingers · 01/03/2022 15:54

Thought it was too good to be true. What trainers do you all wear?

OP posts:
KStockHERO · 01/03/2022 15:54

I quite like the style. But I don't like the colour.

I'd wear them with sports clothes - leggings. But not with jeans.

But if they're comfortable who cares.

LIZS · 01/03/2022 15:55

I have a pair similar and no not stylish. I find the sole rather spongy after a while and unsupportive.

nearlyspringyay · 01/03/2022 15:55

No but they're not my style. At all. Age is irrelevant.

I like my Air Max's or New Balance.

KStockHero · 01/03/2022 15:57

With jeans, I'd wear white pumps or trainers. Like an Adidas classic type of shape/style.

Sofasogood1 · 01/03/2022 15:58

I have Adidas superstar that I wear day to day. Some Nike in gold (they get a lot of comments!). I swap those about with boots.

mummaj12 · 01/03/2022 15:58

I love the New Balance or my Nike airmax. They seem to go with everything. I'm 35 so don't really think age matters as long as you're comfy.

Would you wear these as daily trainers?
SookieHouseboat · 01/03/2022 16:00

I wear Russell and Bromley ParkUp in white. So comfy, I love a platform trainer. Goes with my style of clothing.

KylieCharlene · 01/03/2022 16:02

Oh sorry OP but they're awful.
I'm 42. I like white trainers. Puma Cali or Lacoste Lerond.

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 01/03/2022 16:03

What's the problem with these with jeans, is it because they're more sporty-ish trainers? (I run but wouldn't wear them with sports gear, plus I have running trainers and don't wear them with jeans, I just wondered if it was the style that people objected to!)

With jeans I either wear DMs, Converse/Rocket Dog pumps, or clumpy horrid looking (but comfy) walking shoes if going long distance or in heavy rain.

pink1173 · 01/03/2022 16:04

Love them and I wear mine all the time! I’m definitely not frumpy and I love clothes and fashion but I cannot wear Nikes/Puma/ or any other type of trainers as my feet are so narrow and they look ridiculous on me.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/03/2022 16:04

I'd wear them to a gym class but not with jeans out and about.

daisyjgrey · 01/03/2022 16:04

It doesn't matter how old you are.

I don't/wouldn't wear Sketchers. I wear converse, Adidas (but not the Stan Smiths/Superstar ones) or at a push Air Max, but only if I really like the colour way. The Reebok Club C 85 come in nice colours as well.

I'm currently trying to convince myself that the Ivy Park Adidas boosts are too much money, but I can't find a pair of pink trainers I like more at the minute.

Have a look on ASOS, you can just search trainers and then filter by size and theres quite a big selection to give you and idea of something you like. Trainers are a Pandora's Box!

minipie · 01/03/2022 16:06

Personally not a fan of skechers, partly style partly as I find the foam base sweaty.

I like New Balance 574s. Super comfy and easy to wear. Especially the ones with velcro!

Chakraleaf · 01/03/2022 16:08

I'm 34 and I'd wear them. I'm all about feel good look good.

Bookaholic73 · 01/03/2022 16:08

Oh jeez, I’m so unfashionable then, as I think they are OK.
Not super smart or anything, but I’d wear them Grin

ExConstance · 01/03/2022 16:10

Only for dog walking in the summer.

DameHelena · 01/03/2022 16:13

I think they're fine too. I am clearly Not Stylish.
But look at Ugg and Onitsuka Tiger, maybe, if you'd like possibly more interesting styles.

purplecorkheart · 01/03/2022 16:13

I was advised by a physiotherapist to avoid sketchers although I found them super comfortable.
