Would you wear these as daily trainers?

I live in jeans - need some everyday trainers as I’m sick of walking about in black ankle boots!

I’m 40 if that’s important

I'm 28 and would wear them.

RampantIvy · 01/03/2022 16:42

How do you all keep your white trainers white? I have given up buying them as they are filthy in a couple of weeks.

That's why I don't have white trainers Grin
It is just too muddy where I live. They're fine if you live in a town/city.

Redcrayons · 01/03/2022 16:43

I’m a runner and a bit snobby about proper trainers so wouldn’t wear them.

If you like them and they’re comfy then go for it.

Anniefrenchfry · 01/03/2022 16:44

I have white sketcher trainers, I bought from Amazon, but they are leather, I think about sixty quid, very comfortable, I think it’s the fabric that’s making them old fashioned looking.

Wexone · 01/03/2022 16:45

@ShittyFingers yes to the Stan smiths - though mine are white and green to add a bit of colour.

Suprima · 01/03/2022 16:45

If they are comfy, I would wear them with activewear/leggings and fleece for nipping to sainsburys or walking the dog- but definitely not with jeans or an ‘outfit’, if that makes sense.

thirstyformore · 01/03/2022 16:45

I'm 41 and I wouldn't wear them. I like the chunky trainer look at the moment. I currently wear these: https://uk.puma.com/uk/en/pd/mayze-classic-womens-trainers/384209.html?dwvar3842099size=0180&dwvar3842099color=01&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyJ7Z8K2l9gIVWoFQBh0ydwWZEAQYESABEgI0PDD_BwE

I think ALL trainers are ugly! If you wear them for comfort there's no problem about whether they look 'cool' or not.

Holidaypls2022 · 01/03/2022 16:46

I'm 44 and wear Nike Air 90s and have just got Adidas Stan Smiths for work.

BillyBilly · 01/03/2022 16:48

Skechers are very comfortable. You can be on your feet all day long in them. They're not 'fashionable' but that doesn't mean they can't look ok! If they suit you and suit your style, go with it.
I've got some skechers. Also Air Max(too rigid); New Balance (too narrow); Superga (made my feet look like a clown's); several other Nike. My personal faves are Asics- but I only wear them when going to the gym because, as well as being comfortable, they definitely look like/are a functional sports trainer, rather than something fashionable for wearing with jeans/ dresses

StColumbofNavron · 01/03/2022 16:51

Around here, reasonably trendy north London, people would wear them, it is what they wear with them that makes them look fine - a cool coat (one has a yellow one so I literally never look at her shoes), others in cool jeans etc.

I opt for supergra metallics, though I don't claim to be fashionable.

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 01/03/2022 16:53

I have very similar ones. I wear them all day every day for work (preschool) they're extremely comfortable. I really don't give a shit if I'm in fashion or not though.

Well slap my arse and call me granny so, I have those in this colour:

I love them really comfortable for walking/ being in all day. My other day to do shoes are white converse (the leather ones are so easy to clean) and brown uggs. Maybe I'm not stylish but I do like comfort. I'm 10 yrs younger than you btw.

Rooroobear · 01/03/2022 16:58

I find a lot of the Nike trainers are really comfy and quite stylish. I have huaraches and I love them.

evilharpy · 01/03/2022 16:58

Skechers are a bit controversial around these parts, they seem to invoke very emotional reactions in lots of people Grin

I have these Skechers which I prefer to the ones you linked to. They are VERY comfortable. I don't wear them any time I'm attempting to look vaguely stylish but equally I don't run and hide if I see someone I know while I'm wearing them.

RampantIvy · 01/03/2022 17:01

I have some Nike trainers that are as comfortbale as my Skechers.

RampantIvy · 01/03/2022 17:01

comfortable

Oh I like them!! I’m so conflicted now 😂

Age is irrelevant, but tell us about the black boots. These are not a substitute for black boots, but they absolutely fine as sport shoes.

harrumphs · 01/03/2022 17:06

They are quite ugly and are v unfashionable I'm afraid! They're also quite expensive. You could get some much nicer Adidas / Nike for the same price of you shop around. I prefer old school to "sporty" with jeans so I have Gazelles, Adidas Originals, Superstars, and Onitsuka Tigers plus some Vans (bit of a shoe addiction, I know Blush). They were all max £60 or bought second hand.

LookItsMeAgain · 01/03/2022 17:07

No, but I'd wear these (and I do):

Useranon1 · 01/03/2022 17:07

I don't think Adidas are very comfy - too hard - though I have white Stans.

My black Nike's on the other hand are a dream!

I clean mine regularly usually with The Pink Stuff or Elbow Grease but if I haven't got them to hand hot water and original Fairy does the trick.
