Mulberry bayswater

Neolara · 26/02/2022 18:06

A week on a beach in Greece? (Appreciate this is not necessarily the answer you were after.)

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 26/02/2022 18:14

Louis Vuitton all the way.

DoThePropeller · 26/02/2022 18:16

With three children the £1k doesn’t quite stretch to an extra holiday and I’ve just received a pay rise and determined to spend a chunk of it on something just for me! If I can find something I like enough that is.

I do like the classic design of a Bayswater.

I think this is very pretty although a bit over budget and suspect black would end up being a better colour choice.

I think I would go for a cheaper bag more around the £500 mark and update my wardrobe to go with the new bag. I don't think there is much difference between a £500 bag and a £1000 bag, but then again I wouldn't call myself an expert in this area!

gasty · 26/02/2022 18:23

I wouldn't spend that much on a light coloured bag personally

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 26/02/2022 18:24

I’d buy something pre loved from NPN or Labels Most Wanted.

Grantingmum · 26/02/2022 18:24

I honestly don't understand the handbag thing. I realise that's not the point of your thread. Is that really want you want to do with your money? Maybe give it to charity.

Some time with a therapist to get to the bottom of why I think a £1000 on a bag is a good idea.
thistimelastweek · 26/02/2022 18:34

If I had £1,000 to spend on a new bag, I wouldn't spend it on a new bag.

(Sorry. )

Same.

I’ve got a few mulberry bags (Alexa, Freya, amberley and Somerset) and they are lovely, but I bought a navy coach bag a few years ago and it’s at least equal if not better quality.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 26/02/2022 18:40

£50 bag from river island and the rest in my new bathroom fund please!!

RunnerDown · 26/02/2022 18:43

People are so judgemental. I love handbags and bought my 1st Mulberry age 52. I now have several. I love them and they will last me forever. They give me a lot of pleasure. It’s definitely not up to other folk what you decide to spend your hard earned cash on. There are certainly things like jewellery and fancy cars that I would never be interested in.
I think that bag is a lovely colour that would go with most things. Black is safer but maybe a bit dull.
I suppose it depends what you want from a bag.I like smaller dresssier bags that make me feel special when I am going out. For everyday bags which will be full of “ stuff” and out in all weathers I don’t bother so much. I love mulberry but don’t likethe Bayswater as it’s big ( which doesn’t suit me) and very heavy to wear.
But it depends on your lifestyle and what you want to use the bag for.
Going into shops and trying them on makes a big difference and really helps you decide what suits you best. I have loved bags in online photos but hated them “ in the flesh”.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 26/02/2022 18:43

If you don't understand designer handbags, how about you just scroll on by rather than trying to make the OP feel guilty for spending her own money on something she wants.

pinkprettyroses · 26/02/2022 18:43

Well regardless of what everyone else would do with £1000, OP wants to spend it on a bag, maybe let someone decide what to do with their own moneyConfused
I'd probably go for a basic Saint Laurent or a nylon Prada.

DoThePropeller · 26/02/2022 18:50

I give plenty to charity, it’s not an either/or.

If you have no interests in bags, you don’t have to click on the thread and comment. It’s deliberately quite clear from the title what it’s about and this is style and beauty. Did you just want to try and make me feel bad for spending money on myself?

But sure, I’ll go get therapy because I’d like to treat myself to a decent handbag 😂

Do you suggest to men that they give all their spare cash to charity and/or get therapy instead of buying a new TV/set of golf clubs/tailored suit/watch? I do hope so.

Designer bags have all rocketed in price over the last couple of years: I'd look second hand. A website I've personally used who are great is luxe collective.

A mulberry Bayswater is a classic!

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 26/02/2022 18:54

Fucking hell, I must need a shit ton of therapy. 3 X Mulberry, 4 X LV and a Gucci.

LapinR0se · 26/02/2022 18:54

Is it for work or weekends?

NuffSaidSam · 26/02/2022 18:55

Tbf you didn't ask for a decent handbag, you asked for a £1000 handbag.

Do you honestly believe you can't get a decent handbag for less than a £1000? I think you probably can. A decent handbag is a completely different thread.

Maireas · 26/02/2022 18:57

That Givenchy bag is gorgeous. Very classy.
I'm personally not keen on Mulberry, I find them a bit heavy, but a nice Prada would be ideal.

Onlyhereforchaletschool · 26/02/2022 18:58

You have the same dilemma as me,

and I can’t decide whether I want a work tote or a weekend bag …
