TAAT, do hope not deleted Wink

I was 21 in 2001 and Miss Sixty was the dream. I could hardly ever afford it but would save up and scour the sales for the most ludicrously low-slung jeans. I also had a fake sheepskin coat of the kind that seems to be making a current comeback. Loved it and lived in it. Also a t-shirt that for some reason said 'apples apples apples' across the boobs. Loved that too.

Who else worshipped at the alter of Miss Sixty in the early Noughties?

Ah yes Eva Herzigova on the side of a bus, hello boys campaign. All coming back now, Kurt Geiger shoes, Morgan and Jane Norman... Plus kookai...shop on king Street Manchester, long since departed

GrannytoaUnicorn · 16/01/2022 21:44

Yes! I was 18 in 2002 and had a pair of light denim hipster jeans with a seam down the middle of each leg!

Miss Sixty are still going! misssixty.com

@NotSure94

Happy days! I was 20 something in early 2000s, was a size 10 and had a pair of Miss Sixty low slung jeans. I wore them with a teeny broderie anglais top that showed my midriff and a "brooch" Carrie Bradshaw style that was a red rose flowery hair clip from a brand at the time I can't remember.. Frankie and Rosie or something like that...

It's all Peacocks and Asda George now and I tend to opt for medium men's for everything for comfort Grin

Jewellery brand... was it Johnny loves Rosie?
PeanuttyButter · 16/01/2022 21:48

DH got me a mustard yellow denim mini skirt from miss sixty and a black t shirt saying "Jesus is my homeboy" in the early 2000s.. all too small. He's never bought me clothes since

MeredithGreyishblue · 16/01/2022 21:50

It was more late 90s, but I remember finding a little brown envelope in a coat pocket that had the wages in for an extra couple of shifts I'd done in a cafe. For some reason I'd forgotten about it and I NEVER had spare money. I bought a dress from Morgan - a slip mini in a sage green with a sort of soft tulle overlay with a leopard print pattern on it. I loved it. It was adorable. And vair small!

Squiz81 · 16/01/2022 21:50

There was some random pop up shop in Chelmsford and I got some very wide leg Miss Sixty jeans and corduroy trousers for £10. It must have been some kind of clearance event. I loved them so much and they made my bum look so much smaller.

I actually put them in the loft (with the fancy dress stuff Blush ) but since the wide leg revival I have retrieved them. Not worn them yet though - they are very wide!!

I also had a fitted denim jacket which I charity shopped a few years back :(

superoz · 16/01/2022 21:53

My teenage dd has now acquired my Miss Sixty jeans and wears them!
Think I also have couple of t shirt tops from them which I need to have a dig out…ahhh those were the days.

I had a few pairs of Miss Sixty jeans. My favourites were mid vintage blue flares, really flattering, and I wore pointy white leather stiletto boots underneath.
I also had the same pair in a dark indigo denim.
I then had some stretchy stonewash ones with seams up the front and back of the legs, and some chocolate flare cords with a wide belt and side buckle.
I feel nostalgic now.

sparkypupp · 16/01/2022 22:02

Ah the nostalgia! Wish I'd kept all my Miss Sixty jeans Sad I remember setting an alarm for a ridiculous time in the night to bid on jeans from the US on EBay that Britney Spears had worn!

Also Diesel and G Star jeans, the pointiest shoes possible, big buckle belts, tiny handbags, FCUK and Morgan t shirts for "going out tops" and ASOS stood for As Seen On Screen because it sold copies and similar versions of outfits worn by celebs Blush

dafey · 16/01/2022 22:28

It’s odd but just recently I’ve been feeling really nostalgic for the 2000s, for the first time ever!

The 00s are back fashion wise

Omicrone · 16/01/2022 22:34

Miss Sixty Jeans were way to long for me, but I did love a low rise, flared Jean in the early noughties.

Teamed with either a halterneck, handkerchief or one shouldered top, pointy pointy boots and stripy highlights.

Good Times Smile

inmyslippers · 16/01/2022 22:42

Has anyone mentioned Morgan yet

DukeofEarlGrey · 16/01/2022 22:48

Ha! I thought no one else was interested in Miss Sixty and then came back to an onslaught of early Noughties nostalgia Grin

I also found a photo of my coat! Here it is. I wore it incessantly until it fell apart.

@HeadToToesNo

I've still got my full length denim and faux-fur coat, I begged and begged and begged my parents for it and they finally relented. I lived in it for years but it's still in surprisingly good condition, I just need to work up the nerve to wear it in public again!
@HeadToToesNo I think my friend had this coat. You should totally wear it again, I would respect you if I saw you in the street!

OMG I remember I had a couple of those hankerchief tops, there was barely anything to them!
Glowtastic · 16/01/2022 22:54

I had that coat in red. Should never have got rid of it. ☹️

allfurcoatnoknickers · 16/01/2022 22:56

I'm curvy, which was absolutely NOT a thing in the early 2000s, so despite being a tiny size 10 with a 26 inch waist I could NEVER, get MissSixty to fit over my massive bum without going up 3 sizes. I remember being really upset about it too Sad.

I used to love the other Italian brand Gas jeans though - I bought an off the shoulder top from a department store in Venice from them and thought I was it. Then I spilled coffee down the front and ruined it.

This is reminding me that I went through a proper off the shoulder top phase. That with tiny t-shirts about 3 sizes too small and too much eyeliner Grin.

tolerable · 17/01/2022 04:00

i wore tiny stretch denim flares. i also had THE absolute all time-take you anyplace perfect fit, suggestion just touchin on too long (chunk heel boots dream.high sandals....and they had up to just above where the back of knee sits zips...so trainers or flat s went too..unfadeable black, with nuf stretch the just "sat"on ya......yay.loved miss sixty x

ZealAndArdour · 17/01/2022 04:10

I had a gorgeous black mohair fitted cardigan with an asymmetric zip and very long sleeves that had a whole for your thumb to go through.

Also many miss sixty tops with various slashes and absent armpits and unilateral buttons at the collarbone and all sorts. It’s a really treat to get a new slashed Miss Sixth top to wear with my baggy skate jeans to the rock club I frequented. Jeans indecently low slung and hip bones protruding.

Suzi888 · 17/01/2022 04:16

Lol yes, I was a tiny size 6 /8. I lived the jeans and handkerchief topsGrin.

tolerable · 17/01/2022 07:08

ha! sad as it is im probli better suited to ...whatever a beanbag filled with blamange rocks up in.
i think i had a bit of a white highlighter underbrow habit too...
Youth IS NOT wasted onthe young...I absolutely funkin loved it!

BusterGonad · 17/01/2022 07:26

@Roominmyhouse

I couldn’t fit in their clothes really but I had the best pair of pointy denim miss sixty boots with little pockets on the side. They were amazing! They were like these but mine had a sort of bleach spot pattern.
Wow, I had 2 pairs of Miss Sixty knee high boots, I think maybe this pair, but like you I think they had bleech splodges on (I bought these in the sale), and I had a really lovely denim pair with some brown cord at the top!?! I also had the slip on denim kitten heels... These were my first purchase/pair. My mum was gobsmacked that I paid so much for a pair of shoes! 😂 I remember them well as the soles were leather and what it rained I slipped everywhere, and they got so damaged.
BusterGonad · 17/01/2022 07:33

I had a denim square bag too, literally 2 squares of denim stitched together, then a handle cut out and framed with metal. I'm thinking Miss Sixty or possible Diesel. I had a pale blue cord Diesel shoulder bag as well. But the Miss Sixy shoes and boots were my absolute favourite. They were so amazing.
