Kate Bond premiere look

I don’t think know if this is the right place to post this, but why has The Duchess of Cambridge gone to the Bond premiere in fancy dress as Princess Margaret circa 1975?

I love her, but that is a very dated hair choice. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.glamour.com/story/kate-middleton-looked-extra-royal-in-a-stunning-gold-dress-at-the-james-bond-premiere/amp

Kind of scary that you think minority opinions (though this is more of an observation) need to be silenced…

I’m with the poster, if it’s a bitchy needless attack on another woman’s appearance rhen we should stand together and silence it.

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 29/09/2021 15:35

I don't find her hair dated, or all that Margarety, in the side view either. Margaret's was a lot more bouffed.

Can someone post a Raducanu pic?

HaveringWavering · 29/09/2021 15:36

@Bluntness100

Honestly op, give it up, no one likes women being bitchy about other women’s appearances like this ans it says more about you than you’d care to reveal.
@Bluntness100 I’ve been around Mumsnet long enough to know that your stock in trade is making other people feel bad (on every single thread- where do you find the time?!).

Op, the best form of Défence is attack? I’m not the one who started a thread to slag off other women’s appearance.

It’s an observation on a style and beauty board. Not sure how S&B would work exactly if we were not allowed to pass opinion on style and beauty.

Er, it’s not AIBU! There is no vote. Kind of scary that you think minority opinions (though this is more of an observation) need to be silenced…

No, but this judgey crap does need to be silenced.

Gonnagetgoing · 29/09/2021 15:42

She looked amazing in the dress and her hair was great - much better than it usually is - down - which looks nice but can look very samey.

It's intended purpose is not to drag down a woman who spent probably hours getting ready, for something she is expected to go to.

Her hair was not dated at all - very now I thought.

That's a pretty dramatic response! Who's silencing you?!
RiotAtTheRodeo · 29/09/2021 15:46

To be fair bluntness does make a point of bitch plopping on a heck of a lot of threads. So it is somewhat ironic she's chastising someone else for perceived bitchiness.

MichelleScarn · 29/09/2021 15:46

Not @Bluntness100 its OP who is thinking they're being silenced!!

Im rubbish at the quotes!

Nice.
HaveringWavering · 29/09/2021 15:51

The silencing point was in relation to a poster who said that I was in the minority so should shut up. Which, while of no consequence to a discussion about hairstyles, is a pretty dangerous line of thought in other contexts.

Lots of hyperbolic statements about slagging off, dragging down, bitching, judging in response to an observation that a hairstyle is dated!

No way is your OP anything other than derisory HaveringWavering.

You have back pedalled at every opportunity until the odd poster agrees with your OP and you revert back again. Hmm

Of course people have different opinions but please own that yours was critical

It was mildly critical about one aspect of her outfit, and making an observation about how she resembled an older Royal known for her glamour, all expressed in a lighthearted way.

It may have been your intention HaveringWaveringbut asking why has The Duchess of Cambridge gone to the Bond premiere in fancy dress as Princess Margaret circa 1975? quite clearly refers to the whole outfit not just her hair

The remark was made as you can't let it go. It's not a human rights issue. Move on.
Porridgealert · 29/09/2021 16:23

I love her with her hair up. I think it suits her more than with her hair down. That dress is stunning on her and you can see from her smile that she knows it and feels good about herself. That's the best feeling in the world. I wish I could wear that dress.

Porridgealert · 29/09/2021 16:28

Princess Margaret was really beautiful and she was a fashion icon.

Gurgledrain · 29/09/2021 16:32

She is taking one for the team. I would love to know what she finds so frightfully amusing that she laughs so much at during her photo opportunities.

MichelleScarn · 29/09/2021 16:35

No-one said 'shut up' I took the give it up comment to be your continued derisory comments about the Duchess.

Maybe a bit of nerves? But having a good laugh can put everyone at their ease. Plus how brill to say you made the future Queen laugh. I love how Charles and Camilla make each other laugh as well. It always looks like they enjoy each others company.
