Kate Bond premiere look

I don’t think know if this is the right place to post this, but why has The Duchess of Cambridge gone to the Bond premiere in fancy dress as Princess Margaret circa 1975?

I like it. She's looked a bit dowdy to me personally recently, but this look was fun .

I love Jenny Packham dresses. It always blows my mind that she is Chris Packham sister! Imagine being their parents and producing not one but two children absolutely at the top of their respective but completely and utterly different fields.

If I had cheekbones like Kate I’d be tempted to go for a pixie crop. I bet it would be much more convenient for all her sport and childcare too. But the establishment would not wear that and she’s be crucified for copying Diana.

This is such a common misconception. Having short hair is just as much work, often more, than long hair. If you've got healthy, beautiful hair like Kate's it's much less styling than something which requires blowdrying.

I thought she looked incredible! Really stunning, her hair looked great too. She looked her age, younthful and fun.

I sometimes find her outfits/dress sense abit...old fashioned/dated?

I think the hairdo was right for the dress. Hair down would have spoiled the look, and a simple pleat or chignon would have been too plain.

Camilla looked good too. A very pretty dress, which didn't clash with or compete with Kate's.

It's the perfect dress for the red carpet and Bond. Her previous red carpet dresses have been lovely enough but last night's dress was amazing when photographed. I suspect that Jenny Packham will have lots of new work thanks to last night

Thought she looked fabulous, glamorous and understated sexy. Mr Bond clearly thought she looked good.
She’s going to be queen one day, so she’s hardly going to dress like a love island contestant.

Not that my fashion sense holds any weight whatsoever but I saw the photies and thought she aced it. I loved, loved, loved her in that dress and the Bond premiere was so the right plae to wear it.

She looked stunning and perfect choice for a red carpet bond.

Definitely a great look for a Bond premiere. Right up there with anything a Hollywood star might wear.

The chignon that Princess M wore was fashionable at the time.

The D of C's hair was nothing like that as she has much more.

It also wasn't BIG HAIR.

If you ever watched Dynasty and Joan Collins etc, you'd know what BIG hair really was!

She looked bloody fabulous and completely stole the show!

She has fabulous hair, lucky her, it never ceases to amaze me thr small number of women who look at it and sniff thay she should really cut it off.

She looks phenomenal. I would just loved to have seen a darker/red lipstick but she's had eyelashes put on and gone all out glamour.

She's given Queen Maxima a run for her money here

She looked amazing and all the fashion journalists were absolutely raving about it including high-profile US ones. I agree with them and I loved her hair.

You seem mean-spirited OP. I bet you start sentences with, 'no offence but ...' and 'I'm not being cheeky but ...' Everyone sees through that.

It's so not my style, or even what I like, but she looked fabulous. She looked like she felt fabulous too.

I also agree with many posters. She looked wonderful. She got the balance perfectly. She was glowing and looked really happy and at ease.

Do you think we are going to see scaled down versions of that as dress up options for Xmas (it's been a crap couple of years, but here are some really glitzy dresses. With cape bits)
