Kate Bond premiere look

I don’t think know if this is the right place to post this, but why has The Duchess of Cambridge gone to the Bond premiere in fancy dress as Princess Margaret circa 1975?

I love her, but that is a very dated hair choice. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.glamour.com/story/kate-middleton-looked-extra-royal-in-a-stunning-gold-dress-at-the-james-bond-premiere/amp

I like it. She's looked a bit dowdy to me personally recently, but this look was fun .

BananaPB · 29/09/2021 12:53

@sashagabadon

I love Jenny Packham dresses. It always blows my mind that she is Chris Packham sister! Imagine being their parents and producing not one but two children absolutely at the top of their respective but completely and utterly different fields.
Wow!! 🤯
LittleGwyneth · 29/09/2021 12:53

Are you joking? She looks absolutely incredible. I don't think I've ever seen her look that amazing before.

Lily78123 · 29/09/2021 12:55

I think she looks stunning.

LittleGwyneth · 29/09/2021 12:55

@HaveringWavering

It was only a small step away from Princess Anne’s favourite look.

If I had cheekbones like Kate I’d be tempted to go for a pixie crop. I bet it would be much more convenient for all her sport and childcare too. But the establishment would not wear that and she’s be crucified for copying Diana.

This is such a common misconception. Having short hair is just as much work, often more, than long hair. If you've got healthy, beautiful hair like Kate's it's much less styling than something which requires blowdrying.
ItsSunnyOutside · 29/09/2021 12:55

I thought she looked incredible! Really stunning, her hair looked great too. She looked her age, younthful and fun.

I sometimes find her outfits/dress sense abit...old fashioned/dated?

Laughsaminute · 29/09/2021 12:57

She looks amaze balls and is on the front cover of media around the world.

British soft power in action... whether you like the Royals or not, this is what we pay them for and she knocked it out of the park!

DameAlyson · 29/09/2021 12:58

The blanket coverage, in media around the world, this morning of her at the Bond premiere is massive free exposure and promotion for British film

And British fashion. As pp said, that dress, and the designer's name, are on front pages all over the world today.

I think the hairdo was right for the dress. Hair down would have spoiled the look, and a simple pleat or chignon would have been too plain.

Camilla looked good too. A very pretty dress, which didn't clash with or compete with Kate's.

BananaPB · 29/09/2021 13:00

It's the perfect dress for the red carpet and Bond. Her previous red carpet dresses have been lovely enough but last night's dress was amazing when photographed. I suspect that Jenny Packham will have lots of new work thanks to last night

Fairyliz · 29/09/2021 13:01

Thought she looked fabulous, glamorous and understated sexy. Mr Bond clearly thought she looked good.
She’s going to be queen one day, so she’s hardly going to dress like a love island contestant.

BrownCurlsAmberEyes · 29/09/2021 13:01

Not that my fashion sense holds any weight whatsoever but I saw the photies and thought she aced it. I loved, loved, loved her in that dress and the Bond premiere was so the right plae to wear it.

EvilPea · 29/09/2021 13:02

She looked stunning and perfect choice for a red carpet bond.

XingMing · 29/09/2021 13:03

Definitely a great look for a Bond premiere. Right up there with anything a Hollywood star might wear.

JinglingHellsBells · 29/09/2021 13:08

@HaveringWavering Were you actually alive and an adult when Princess Margaret was in her 'hey day'?

Something makes me think you weren't.

The chignon that Princess M wore was fashionable at the time.

The D of C's hair was nothing like that as she has much more.

It also wasn't BIG HAIR.

If you ever watched Dynasty and Joan Collins etc, you'd know what BIG hair really was!

SecretKeeper1 · 29/09/2021 13:10

She looked bloody fabulous and completely stole the show!

JinglingHellsBells · 29/09/2021 13:10

Kate Bond

:) @HaveringWavering I almost thought she'd married James.

Talk about a confusing subject line.

Bluntness100 · 29/09/2021 13:10

She has fabulous hair, lucky her, it never ceases to amaze me thr small number of women who look at it and sniff thay she should really cut it off.

diddl · 29/09/2021 13:19

"They really stepped up her wardrobe after the arrival of Meghan"

Hmm
darkconfession · 29/09/2021 13:19

She looks phenomenal. I would just loved to have seen a darker/red lipstick but she's had eyelashes put on and gone all out glamour.

She's given Queen Maxima a run for her money here

ElizaDarcysDeeds · 29/09/2021 13:25

She looked amazing and all the fashion journalists were absolutely raving about it including high-profile US ones. I agree with them and I loved her hair.

You seem mean-spirited OP. I bet you start sentences with, 'no offence but ...' and 'I'm not being cheeky but ...' Everyone sees through that. Grin

Disfordarkchocolate · 29/09/2021 13:25

It's so not my style, or even what I like, but she looked fabulous. She looked like she felt fabulous too.

MarshaBradyo · 29/09/2021 13:27

Gold looks amazing, I really like it

I’d forgotten how much people go all out for film premieres

Wanderlustnearorfar · 29/09/2021 13:31

I also agree with many posters. She looked wonderful. She got the balance perfectly. She was glowing and looked really happy and at ease.

herecomesthsun · 29/09/2021 13:32

Do you think we are going to see scaled down versions of that as dress up options for Xmas (it's been a crap couple of years, but here are some really glitzy dresses. With cape bits)

Cam22 · 29/09/2021 13:33

She was drop dead gorgeous. What an asset she is, in every way.
