You have to choose ONE shop to buy clothes from, for the rest of your life...which shop are you choosing?

It has to be a stand-alone brand, so no asos or zalando type choices.

Mine is a close call between Cos and Uniqlo. I really like that monochromatic, vaguely Japanese, minimalist but striking look. I only rarely achieve it though.

It'll have to be Uniqlo, I don't really have a Cos lifestyle I don't think. I find the clothes aspirational though.

So what are you going for?

OP posts:

F&F or Tu

Nanasueathome · 26/09/2021 10:58

Toast

FindingMeno · 26/09/2021 10:59

I'd be lying if I didn't say Primark.

languagelover96 · 26/09/2021 12:34

Primark

Snailhaterz2 · 26/09/2021 12:59

If it's for everything, including underwear and shoes, then it would have to be M&S. If we're allowed to go elsewhere for those, then Cos. Although, having said that, I've never found a pair of jeans that fit me from there. Aargh.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 26/09/2021 14:25

I could live with M&S being the only surviving shop in a retail apocalypses tbh, at least I could get workwear and casual wear, plus knickers. I really like their PURE skincare range too actually. I'd just have to work a bit harder to be edgy lol

users689033 · 26/09/2021 21:25

Monsoon.

No competition.

JaceLancs · 26/09/2021 21:50

Before OP said stand alone - I would have said tkmaxx!
Ralph Lauren if budget not a consideration
Massimo dutti next budget wise
M n S for high st choice
Supermarket choice - Sainsbury’s

LaBrujaPiruja · 26/09/2021 23:29

Ba&sh

Ifeelsuchafool · 03/10/2021 23:09

Hollan Cooper

Ifeelsuchafool · 03/10/2021 23:10

Whoops! Sorry, cat jumped on my knee. Holland Cooper is my go to shop.

DukeofEarlGrey · 03/10/2021 23:27

If budget isn’t an issue I would say LK Bennett because it’s been the best brand for me in terms of fit over many years. Admittedly I’d be slightly overdressed all the time.

A more practical choice would be M&S. The quality is mixed (too many manmade fibres) and they come out with some shockers, but I reckon I could cover most eventualities with M&S and they are already my default for pants and pyjamas.

coffeeschmoffee · 03/10/2021 23:39

Tricky! I think Uniqlo

H and M, Monki, Arket also contenders

ErrolTheDragon · 03/10/2021 23:40

I could probably manage with just Lands End, though I'm not sure they do enough proper walking gear...so I might have to join the Cotswold corner.

StormyCornishSeas · 03/10/2021 23:41

Thats the thing with M&S whilst I'd hate to admit it. It's hard to find a store which covers all eventualities and isn't a dept store. Underwear, sleepwear, sportswear, casual weekend wear, workwear & party and evening wear can all be brought from M&S

Ok sometimes the styles and quality is a bit Hmm but you'd be able to find something suitable to buy

ufucoffee · 04/10/2021 07:06

I like Kin by John Lewis and I also love John Lewis own brand.

HarrietsweetHarriet · 04/10/2021 09:03

Toast or Anthropologie. If money was no object!
Probably Toast because there is pretty much nothing in their catalogue I dislike. Including footwear. It would take all the stress out of clothes shopping and I'd be able to wear beautifully crafted pieces all the time. No, I don't work for them. I wish I did!

Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree · 05/10/2021 07:39

In my dreams Sezane.
In reality H&M. I’m not sure I actually know how to shop anywhere else.

VanillaAndOrange · 07/10/2021 22:00

George!

Wtfdoipick · 07/10/2021 22:09

I have to go for lands end, their jeans actually fit me and they make the best dog walking cost I've ever had. I will miss fat face though, I'm sorry to give them up because I love their tops but it's got to come down to jeans fitting.

Hippopotas · 07/10/2021 22:12

@POPGoesTheBandit

Killstar or disturbia
I came to say Killstar Grin
Bloodymess · 07/10/2021 22:16

I’m practical so needs to be a place I can get underwear and socks so M&S, also I’m short so trousers fit.

Chanel. I could waltz around in tweed every day.

Eesha · 08/10/2021 05:48

I think Cos but only when they do more colourful items as I think they look really great on me. However they never do many colourful things. Sigh
