What’s the ‘new’ white trainer

I’m inexplicably behind on trends! So recently embarked on a trainer finding journey to discover that if I buy white trainers then I am no longer on trend!! So what’s the new white trainer equivalent?

To wear with skinny (yes I know but I can’t do barrel or mom jeans) jeans!

Does anyone know anything about Jaden Smith’s trainers for New Balance?

I'm getting some 'Mallets' in black for A/W I love them, they have the heel/toe drop thing that is better for your feet than The 'Converse' style, I want McQueen but can't justify the £400+ bill

NB 327's are so fab! I saw them in about April in the Times and had trouble sourcing them as v popular. Just gorgeous trainers

This thread led to me searching trainer trends AW 21 and I was surprised that Stan Smiths featured in most of them still so OP safe with those

I'm mid 50's and wouldn't wear veja's as so ubiquitous where I am and I think they are too mainstream middle aged for me to get any joy from them

Re skinny jeans - I like the look of a long smart coat with trainers and this works best with a slim jean

It is so funny about the NB trainers as for years they have only been worn by old men in the USA - definitely not trendy . Fashion is mad .😂

I'm also mid-50's :). DD has them and I saw them in black leather on a lady on Regents Street the other day. They we really nice!
I find veja and Stan Smiths a bit boring and really don't like Converse.
The Alexander Mc Queens were money well spent and I might invest in an other pair.
DD gave me the on the Balenciagas.

@Snoopsnoggysnog I put my Supergas in the washing machine all the time and they come out perfectly. I just make sure to reshape them before they dry.

I agree on old men in the USA and their NBs and don't even get me started on the high waisted belted jeans.
However, the NB 327s are the dogs bollocks now in the UK 'trainer' trend...and I'm the old lady fighting to stay 'on trend'

I’m seeing a lot of new balance trainers on mid 20’s-30’s these days so definitely think they are the new ‘in’ look

NBs have been 'in' with the 'fashion crowd' for the last 18 months. I walked home tonight and last night through the London Fashion week peeps (I live in Shoreditch so fashion people are everywhere right now) and most trainers are still NBs.

I bought the NB-Casablanca collaboration trainers last year and loved them so much that I bought both colours in the NB-Casablanca collab released last month. Casablanca is super-hip but bloody expensive. Their NB collab is all I can afford!

My NB-Casablanca trainers last year were 327s. This autumn it's all about the XC-72.

New Balance are the equivalent of the old "Fila".

The trainer saves a lot of my outfits. I have a small frame, no chest and small low contrast facial features so I can't carry off a pattern or a floral. The trainer being away from my face is ok to be a bit out there as all the other stuff I wear is plain
I think I'm going to go as far as wearing some new chunky black/multi trainers with black opaques and a dress this weekend😊

I have wide feet and also need support and have been wearing Stan smiths for years because they are so comfy. I buy a new on sale pair yearly! Glad to hear they're not too frumpy! I use old pairs for dog walking and gardening .

Air Max 95's for me rather than those twee Veja's any day!

Adidas Superstars are to me the ultimate trainer and have been my trainer obsession since my teens. I have them in tons of different colours and patterns: furry animal print, white with metal toecap, bright yellow, snakeskin (not real), vibrant pink platform, blue and white knitted (fab in summer without socks), black with red stripes, white with red stripes, pale pink, white with oink stripes, black with gold stripes etc etc. My son’s first pair of shoes were a tiny pair of white superstars.

They are comfortable, come in such a wonderful variety of versions and look fab with everything. What’s not to love?

I loved my superstars but I realised I was allergic to the rubber toes!

Anyway, my JW Anderson chain clogs have arrived and I think they are gorgeous.

I don't like Stan Smits because the tongue comes too far up the anke and shortens the leg making them look shorter and fatter. I have Nike Court Royals which are the perfect neat white trainers- I have them in black too for winter.

@Blossomtoes Sizing is standard Nike sizing I think- I'm a size 40 and got the 6.5
