Yes agree, @iguanadonna you look fab in that dress which looks really elegant but also comfy and a workhorse.

Blossomtoes · 02/09/2021 22:09

That dress looks lovely. Is it really as oversized as the reviews lead you to believe?

ToastCosILoveIt · 03/09/2021 00:01

The Solovair green Dora boots have arrived and they fit. I tried them on with very thick socks and they fit but snuggly so I am sure they will be just fine with normal thickness tights. I now have to convince myself that they don't look too much like green ankle wellies! I will try them on with jeans etc over the weekend, sure they will be fine.

@Mariclaire82, I am ashamed to say that I too have the black Doras from last year in a 5 and they fit too! I love walking and need comfort so that is my excuse for buying the green ones.

Re the discussion on the Tala, I bought the green and the blue versions and wore them a lot in the two brief heatwaves we had (and was stopped more than once in the street by people admiring them). I intend to keep the green one out for winter and wear it with a jumper over so it looks like a skirt or with one of the Toast wool neat cardigans - I have a mid green one from last winter and also picked up a brown one from the JL website for a ridiculously low price.

balkanscot · 03/09/2021 09:13

Thanks to everyone re: Tala dress. With a heavy heart I have decided to pass. IF it was on sale and IF it was the beginning of Summer, then yes, I would have taken the plunge. Well, even if it WASN’T on sale, if it was May/June I would have bought it (the blue one, the green one just doesn’t grab me as much). 😢

As it is, I will concentrate my efforts on finding a reduced price (good luck to me) Harley Fair Isle jumper. I know Toast used to stock them but not this season, I think.

Countmeout · 03/09/2021 09:31

I can’t wait to see a picture of the coat in real life if you are able @billydilly. It will be wonderful to wear.

That’s a great dress @iguanadonna. Looks great on.

Thank you, it IS a nice dress. Quality gorgeous.

Oversized - mostly. This is an XL and I'd say 18/20. Probably more 20. I could go down to L everywhere except over boobies, possibly also arms and shoulders. Very generous fit in waist and skirt. Anyone with small chest and slight shoulders will want to size down significantly, I'd guess.

No I dont really understand the reviews tbh. I have this years and last years and its a loose style but not massively oversized. Im a RL 12 sometimes a 10 in toast and the medium is a similar fit to @iguanadonna I guess if you are short it might be an issue as Im tall and its long on me. Lovely fabric .
Laska2Meryls · 03/09/2021 09:59

ToastcosILoveit please can we see the Dora boots? I rather fancy these Solvair ones
The Cos trousers I ordered ( like yours but navy) should arrive today.. if they are good I will post a photo.
I had my catalogue last week but have only just got around to looking at it.. I really like the new Donegal sweater.. have the green from last year but that was sale price!

Laska2Meryls · 03/09/2021 10:01

iguanadonna the crinkle dress looks fabulous on you.. I dont seem to have much room for dresses in my life since stopping working but I must say I am quite tempted by that one

iguanadonna · 03/09/2021 10:04

Billy, the ruinous coat is amazing on you!

I'm so glad it sold out in my size Grin

iguanadonna · 03/09/2021 10:06

Agree with Temple - that blue crinkle dress may seem particularly oversized on someone shorter. I'm a bit more than 172, 5,7.

They really need to show clothes on a variety of models!

Oh my , that is gorgeous 😍 , you look fantastic in it and should enjoy it for many years .. Brilliant buy !

It looks made for you @iguanadonna. I think they need to do a petite range. I say that as a very happy tall person -love that toast things are so long. But if they are long on me then they will drown anyone who is shorter.
Laska2Meryls · 03/09/2021 10:14

... I'm now looking at the crinkle cullottes in that same fabric iguanadonna 🤦

billydilly · 03/09/2021 10:30

Thanks all. The coat and I are very happy together. I'm new to Toast and am loving the workmanship and luxurious feel, I completely get the Toast love now.

AuldFox · 03/09/2021 10:48

Looking fab @billydilly
I’d love a Toast coat but I find that though the body fits well in a size 6, the shoulders are usually too wide and the sleeves too long. I’m a short 5’3 though, so I’d LOVE a petite range!

Countmeout · 03/09/2021 10:59

Coat looks fabulous.

Late to the party as we are away touring north of Scotland in our van but just had to say that you look like an actual toast model scottishmouse. Totally fabulous.

I went striding over Culloden moor yesterday in a Toast skirt and jumper and a pair of brogues, and two separate people stopped me to ask me questions about the battlefield, so I must have looked the part (as I was brought up nearby, I do actually know quite a lot about it so I was even able to answer them).

ilovecherries · 03/09/2021 11:12

Love you in the dress too donna. And the coat … well, what can I say? So beautiful.

Saurus72 · 03/09/2021 11:44

@billydilly So the coat is ruinously expensive but totally worth it. I have a Toast coat that I bought around 14 years ago and it still looks fabulous and looks brand new. So you’ll most likely have your lovely coat for ever more which means cost per wear is practically in minus figures.

Blossomtoes · 03/09/2021 12:42

The coat’s beautiful. Thank you all for saving me crinkled dress disappointment as it would undoubtedly be too long.

The Cos culottes have just arrived and I didn’t even bother trying them on. Way too big and way too long for me and they arrived creased to buggery and with someone else’s returns label and paperwork. I seem to be doomed to disappointment at the moment. Perhaps the universe is telling me I don’t need any more clothes!

neveradullmoment99 · 03/09/2021 12:54

Lovely lovely coat @billydilly

MrsCat1 · 03/09/2021 14:40

!!!!Klaxon!!!! Harlequin dress is in stock! And it's in my basket! 😃😃😃

faustina · 03/09/2021 14:46

haha - just coming on to say that too @MrsCat1. I'm not buying because I have two dresses upstairs waiting for me to decide whether to keep, and for a non-dress wearer that's a lot - but do please post pics all who buy the pretty harlequin!
