Sorry, I am no help on the Tala as I have not tried it. I did almost buy the Delave linen tiered dress though that I had been searching for since much earlier in the summer as it popped up in my size early this week, but I had a word with myself. I won’t wear it until next summer now, and I don’t know if it will even fit me then (bloody menopause!), or if I will like it as much, or if there will be something even nicer.
That said, I did order some other things, which arrived today, despite saying I wouldn’t. The poplin pj shirt is a keeper, as is the graphic yoke sweater that i already mentioned up thread. The pintuck skirt is going back though. Lovely fabric, nice colour, weighty enough for winter, but just not that practical for my lifestyle through winter so I know I wouldn’t wear it enough to justify having it. Just as well, as I really cannot afford the jumper and shirt.

I love the PIntuck skirt on you. Looks fab. Its much nicer on you than on the styling video. I really like it. Is it a brushed cotton?

Thanks @Countmeout and @neveradullmoment99. It is kind of a brushed cotton, yes, with a texture. It is really lovely fabric. One I might keep an eye out for come sale time, if it is still in stock.

I think the tiered skirt looks fab on you, especially with that shirt. Toast things seem look so much better on real people than on their website.

@neveradullmoment99 I was hovering over the wool neat cardi in heathered navy, now sold out. The Gabi cords in oil are also sold out in all sizes.

I love that pin tuck shirt too. The Toast shirts are all lovely.

The wool neat cardi has been on the website for quite a while[ was it not last years stock?] If its been oos for while I think the only way you will get it is a return and that is pretty unlikely as most returns will have been processed. You could also ask the 'chat' function on the website. I did this with the Emma half sleeves and they told me there would be no more stock and they have been right. There was no movement on the colours I liked.
The Gabi cords in oil seem a new colour?
They only had the brown slate and the soft ginger and cream ones
last year so think there is a good chance they may come back but again, ask the chat in case they know more.
Mine are just hunches!

Exactly what I’ve been thinking, Summer is on its way out, and since I live in Scotland… Although can’t complain about this Summer, it has been mostly glorious. If it was reduced in the sale, maybe, but as it’s not, hmmm…

But, on the other hand….. I have got the Batik sleeveless dress from 2019 and I absolutely adore it. Thinking that Tala will be along those lines (cut-wise).

You are all helping BUT still sitting on the fence. When the car insurance money leaves my bank account, maybe I’ll start seeing sense then.

I think I will not go for it unless it ever ends up in the sale. But in the meantime I’ll keep refreshing the page. Again. And again. 🙄

You should order it! It will bug you constantly. Can you sell something on ebay to justify? That's what I do. If you have a birthday, could you ask for part payment?
Or money towards?

@neveradullmoment99 I know, I have missed out on a few lovely Toast pieces due to incessant dithering à la Tala. Nothing to sell, sadly, maybe my lovely sable-coloured belted wool winter coat from Reiss (when Reiss used to do good quality clothes as opposed to polyester tat (I am looking at you, Whistles, too) like today. 👀

Could you get away with the tala in winter by wearing a long sleeved tee under it or a jumper over it? Or both? Or a long sleeved tee and a cardi, tights and boots. You could do dark green tights a shade darker than the dress or wear barely there tights with mid length brown boots. I can't remember if it is lined but if it isnt a waist underskirt under it would give you extra weight.
You may order it and hate it.
I find sometimes I need to scratch that itch.

They have the blue tala on ebay but I guess the blue isn't the one you are after.

Thanks @neveradullmoment99. The heathered navy is cheaper than the others so maybe it is old stock. Damn my indecision! Will keep checking the cords.

I only went and bought the houndstooth coat. Only last night I'd decided it was too expensive so bought a bonkers skirt from Hush to soften the blow. Now I have the ruinously expensive coat and the bonkers skirt. Sigh.

balkanscot For what it is worth, I think the cut and style of the Batik dress is much nicer than that of the Tala dress. The Batik one’s slightly longer length at the back gives it a wonderful elegance. I had not expected to like this dress so much but as soon as it was on, I knew I would keep it. A much better tailored dress.

I agree. I have the batik. It is much much nicer.

Turns out it's very tricky to take pictures of oneself showing off clothes. But here's the blue crinkle dress. Incredibly nice to wear.

I've ordered various things to try including the Alix chanterelle trousers so hopefully will have those to practise my photography skills on tomorrow.

Loving all the photos! I cannot partake as I have too many mirrors in my dressing room and hence too many reflections to remain anonymous.
