Any hairdressers? Orangy roots!

So I was quite blonde anyway but with dark stretched roots so thought I'd to blonde all over. I used high lift from Sally's and 9% but the roots are a tad orange! Any advice?? I've tried purple shampoo on dry hair. I was going to try 12% on the roots tomorrow if anyone can advise if this will help?

You’ve done a good job OP. If it does have a tinge of green, a red toner will cancel it out

Wow. Imagine taking the piss out of someone's appearance after they have asked for advice on home haircare and shared the fact they've spent the bit of extra money they had on a trip for their kids and disabled partner so can't afford a hairdresser at the moment. I would hate to be that miserable and spiteful.

OP you look great, ignore the oddballs trying to team up as a pair so they look less batshit for taking a thread like this weirdly personally.... it isn't working, it's just double the batshit!

Mammaaof · 16/05/2021 17:51

@Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin thank you I think it was the reflection from my tree tho I have posted other photos now 🙈

Looks fab! I'm about to do the same, wish me luck!

Seriously, you look great. Well done.

Mammaaof · 16/05/2021 18:06

@BillieSpain good luck!! You'll be fine what's the worse that can happen!! And thank you for saying it doesn't look horrible I'm paranoid after the nasty comment! X

Nasty comment? Saying it's looks green isn't nasty it's just a fact.

Mammaaof · 16/05/2021 18:20

@mn81987 I hope you never have to become a full time carer as well as being a mother to 2 young children. I'm trying my best that's all I wanted was advice! I've never slagged off hairdressers I just couldn't afford it, I choose to take my children away for a break instead. I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't go anywhere. And I chose to use my hair money for my children so tbh even if my hair is green, my children will have a weekend away and when I look back on photos in years to come I'll always remember the time I had green hair so that my children could make memories!

@mn81987 it’s not a fact though, it’s an opinion
Letsgetreadytocrumble · 16/05/2021 18:42

This thread has reminded me of why I don't go to the hairdressers any more and cut and colour my own hair now. Why do some hairdressers have to be so bitchy?

BillieSpain · 16/05/2021 19:04

I see no green?

I am not going back to hairdressers.

DSis spoke to a man at Toni and Guy, he said 'I shouldn't tell you but this is the Wella stuff you need to order, that I use on your hair'

She does it at home now for less than a fiver, it was 45 pounds.

OP you'll be an expert soon, hold your nerve (like me!)

Aw man, why did u put a box dye over it? Your roots would have bleached to a pale yellow, then a purple shampoo. Your hair wouldn't have fell out! You had only done your roots once before it was healthy enough to take a bleaching. How long did I leave the bleach on? X

You wouldn't have had to spend all day posting here and enjoyed your time with the kids

What an unbelievably dickish comment to someone who said they're struggling.

Probably best to leave OP alone now and enjoy your own time 👍🏻

Op the reason the nasty poster is saying it's green is because...

The box dye was natural light brown which will come out very mucky light brown. When u have bleach blonde hair all the colour is stripped from your hair to get it to this white colour. So if your where to go darker on very light bleach hair you need to add a warmer tone. Like light golden brown or even dark gold blonde. The dye u have used will wash out very very quickly like the next wash , and ur hair will probably look like a dark dirty fair blonde (greedy) And ur roots will still be a warmer shade as that before had warmth in it (light orange). I am not a hairdresser but done 3hair in college for hairdressing and left a month before I was qualified because...funnier I hated the bitching Smile

oneredeemingfeature · 16/05/2021 20:26

All this thread has done is reinforce the bitchy stereotype attached to hairdressers. Maybe the op wouldn't have had to resort to colouring her hair three times had she received advice from them instead of 'I told you so's'.

Letsgetreadytocrumble · 16/05/2021 20:27

@roughrug are you deliberately trying to come across as a total nasty piece of work or is it just your default setting? You sound absolutely horrible.

People who say 'just being real!' are invariably always utter twats.

Mammaaof · 16/05/2021 20:34

@lovescaca it was like this after the toner and the purple shampoo x

It doesn’t look green to me in the last picture but your hair is still wet so it’s hard to tell. It might look a little ‘flat’ rather than green if there isn’t enough warmth in the brown dye but it’s going to fade having been on top of lightened hair anyway. The main thing is whether you are happy with it @Mammaaof?

youvegottenminuteslynn · 16/05/2021 20:38
@youvegottenminuteslynn not really when that was her reason for not getting it done properly... just being real!
She said she couldn't financially afford to go to the hairdresser because she spent the money on a trip for her children and disabled partner. So your comment makes no sense.

You've embarrassed yourself repeatedly on this thread with your snarky and frankly bizarre attitude. I can't imagine getting enjoyment from putting down a young mum and carer you don't even know online. Feel a bit sorry for you tbh.

Chill out a bit and remove whatever chip you're carrying around on your shoulder. Life is much more enjoyable when you aren't being a prick to people Smile

lovescaca · 16/05/2021 20:39

I dnt think you kept it on long enough. X

lovescaca · 16/05/2021 20:42

I would have left it in for 30-45 mins x
