Has anyone bought from Chanel at Selfridges Manchester Exchange?

I'm threatening to buy a 2.55 Reissue

My nearest stockist is Manchester Selfridges Exchange Square. Has anyone bought there recently? (lockdown notwithstanding) What was your experience?

If anyone has opinions on the 2.55 itself I'd be glad to hear them too

Thank you I was looked after by Eve who was delightful. All the staff seemed great, I talked briefly with a number of them & they were all warm & professional.

Apparently they do normally offer champagne but since Covid Chanel HQ have told them to stop. I've bought Chanel scarves before from New Bond St & Harrods & used to see people with their bags & their flutes, luckily for me I'm tee total so it would have been politely declined anyway! My good friend said if she hadn't had a clinic full of patients today (she's a GP) she would have happily come with me & necked my unwanted champagne because that's what friends are for apparently

The SA & I set up a WhatsApp connection & she said now I'm an established client she'll take payment for anything I want over the phone & courier it to me 👏🏻

I got exactly what I thought I'd want - the medium 2.55 Reissue with ruthenium hardware. The aged calfskin was beautiful. They had two, one had been previously handled, the other was straight from the stock room. The latter had a tiny mark on it & was more of a grey black whereas the the former had a richness to it so I chose that one. It will be nice to be able to say I bought the first 2.55 I ever clapped eyes on 😀 I'm travelling back shortly but will post photos from home later.

I couldn't decide between the lamb skin or the Caviar for the cardholder so I decided to leave it & have a think 🤔 I may end up getting a coin purse too. I suspect I've been fully bitten by the Chanel bug...😀

Oh hooray @MrsCalypsoGrant so pleased for you!!!!! Sounds like you had a fantastic day and experience too which is so nice to hear. How fab that you now have an SA who will courier to you too!! I have never managed that as I've tended to buy from different boutiques but would be amazing to have a nice SA.
It's such a great bag, you will love it. Definitely need those Chanel SLGs now too hahaha

Oh no, this is a terrible thread - I talked myself out of spending so much money on a bag (specifically THIS bag), but now I’m desperate to get one!

It’s beautiful, enjoy using it as often as you can

@MummyJ12 I know Chanel herself would have had gold, but in all the photos we see of her with her original 2.55 it appears silver as the images are in black & white. That's the image that sticks in my mind, hence the ruthenium (plus I already have the gold single flap )
