I used to love Aussie 3 minute miracle as a cheap fix but hadn’t used it for years. It used to be lovely and thick and my hair always felt a bit better after using it.
Bought a bottle last week - what have they done to it?! Horrible watery rubbish that did nothing for my hair.

Ghd curling wand - now I love a ghd product but this does nothing for me.

Rosehip oil - paid about £40 for a tiny bottle of this when it was all the rage a couple of years ago. Did absolutely nothing for me.

The Ordinary. Vastly overrated, I’m convinced they had people posting on here constantly at one point to rave about it.

Reimann P20 Once a Day sun screen - nope, burnt to a crisp.

trimtops · 01/04/2021 15:25

Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, Pillow Talk

made me look like a corpse!

Confusedandshaken · 01/04/2021 15:30

Lashify lash extensions. Marketed as an easy way to get a salon look at home. For me it's an easy way to get an eye full of glue and the extensions scattered across my counter. Total waste of money (and they are EXPENSIVE).

beguilingeyes · 01/04/2021 15:54

Aveda Invati Shampoo. Horribly expensive and revolting. Binned after about three uses.

GeidiPrimes · 01/04/2021 15:55

Hourglass mascara - only any good if you like gunked up spider lashes.

Ivebeeninlockdowntoolong · 01/04/2021 15:56

So-called whitening toothpaste. I bought a tube for £10 based on a favourable review by The Independent (sucker!) and .... it made no difference whatsoever to my teeth.

FreshFaceTime · 01/04/2021 16:41

Estee Lauder double wear foundation. Apparently the dogs bollocks on everyone else. Cakey and shit on me. And yes I tried every primer going and no it didn't make any difference. That foundation just hates me.

PourMeAMerlot · 01/04/2021 17:44

Ooh another one - Mac studio fix foundation. Awful cakey rubbish. Looked like I’d smeared plaster all over my face.

Beauty pie!
I have the eye cream that is passably ok as a basic moisturiser but it's a big fat nope for all the other claims it makes - brightening/fine line expelling/peptides bullshit.

Conned.

lookdeepintotheparka · 01/04/2021 18:07

CeraVe which is raved about on here brought me out in enormous cystic lumps. Think I'm just unlucky as most of the recommended beauty products here I've loved!

Anotheruser02 · 01/04/2021 18:18

CeraVe PM, broke out my forehead quite badly.

JJSS123 · 01/04/2021 18:20

Olaplex. I thought I’d love it so bought some and it’s really not worth the hype at all!

WellTidy · 01/04/2021 18:22

Glycolic acid toner - did nothing for me but irritate my non-sensitive skin

Vitamin c serum - as above

Facial oil - as above!

FindingMeno · 01/04/2021 18:26

Snake venom eye cream.
It isn't snake venom which I found strangely disappointing, and its done nothing for my dark circles.

Fispi · 01/04/2021 18:30

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. Nice but not worth the price.

Diptyque Philosykos- vile

Indeed Labs Watermelon Melting Balm - doesnt take non water proof mascara off full of solid lumps that dont break down

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood lips - transfer onto everything

ChequerBoard · 01/04/2021 18:30

Revitalash eye lash serum. Discovered I am hideously allergic to it after the first use. Great, £100 paid for red, watery stinging eyes that took 3 days to recover!

VioletCharlotte · 01/04/2021 18:31

Pretty much every product I've ever bought! Olaplex did nothing, Beauty Pie retinol did nothing, The Ordinary products may just as well be bottled water.

I need to stop falling for marketing and 'reviews'.

PawPawNoodle · 01/04/2021 18:31

I think this might suggest that you do have sensitive skin!

Biggest fails for me is the Hourglass mascara as mentioned above and the Charlotte Tilbury one. And the YSL ones come to mention it...

Moonstone1234 · 01/04/2021 18:32

Roche Possay serums. Got three of them as there was an offer on at Boots. Not great. Will use them up though.

I was a member of Beauty Pie for a year. Did use it although the ‘proper’ pricing was rubbish. Products are on par with Soap and Glory (which is where the CEO came from).

Bloodyfuckit · 01/04/2021 18:34

Dyson airwrap.

All the electronic gadgets, like Nu face and Rio.

Sanctuary in shower moisturizing jelly stuff. Really sticky and smells lawful.

MrsApplepants · 01/04/2021 18:35

Bio oil. Did nothing

Geamhradh · 01/04/2021 18:37

The Ordinary- yep, fell for the "we'll email you routine made up of 9 different products". Poured all of them down the sink. 9 bottles of slimy shite at a fiver each or one bottle of £30 serum that does everything anyway, let me think.

Doublewear- I once famously allowed an EL person at me in Debenhams then caught the train home. Took my mirror out and yelped out loud that I'd morphed into an orange Barbara Cartland.

Hyaluronic Acid. All of them. TO, Hada Labo, Vichy 89. Blablabla. I've used it correctly, does nothing. And almost all serums have it in anyway.

Rosehip Oil. Emperor's New clothes. Other facial oils, yes. But RO stinks to glory and does nothing.

4160 perfume. Much beloved of MN. They all smell like they've had 18 too many ingredients chucked in or like a 3 year old has mixed all her mum's scents together.

Jo Malone- other end of the spectrum to the more-is-more of 4160. These are water that some lab rat wafted a lemon over for a nanosecond.

BigButtons · 01/04/2021 18:39

Charlotte Tilbury rock and kohl eyeliner. It was the worst, most smudgy eyeliner I have ever used.

I agree with the 4160 perfumes. I bought I few but they somehow all smell the same.🧐
FeelinSpendy · 01/04/2021 18:45

Agree re the Aussie 3 min miracle. They changed the formula a few years ago and it’s been rubbish ever since. I recommend trying the Syoss SalonPlex conditioner - that’s the only thing I’ve found that comes close.
