I used to love Aussie 3 minute miracle as a cheap fix but hadn’t used it for years. It used to be lovely and thick and my hair always felt a bit better after using it.
Bought a bottle last week - what have they done to it?! Horrible watery rubbish that did nothing for my hair.

Ghd curling wand - now I love a ghd product but this does nothing for me.

Rosehip oil - paid about £40 for a tiny bottle of this when it was all the rage a couple of years ago. Did absolutely nothing for me.

OP posts:

Anything I've ever bought from Bobbi Brown, the smudge proof mascara in particular was useless and gave me the worst panda eyes ever.

DuchessSilver · 01/04/2021 19:12

Anything at all that's supposed to help with acne/oily skin that isn't prescribed by a Dr/only sold in a pharmacy.

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 01/04/2021 19:16

Oh yeah the dyson hairdryer- nice enough but no way was it worth the ridiculous price tag. Had to sell mine in difficult times but my current babyliss is just as good and was about a tenth of the price.

5128gap · 01/04/2021 19:21

Another vote for rose hip oil. Why does it smell of fish?

Fkrkrodps · 01/04/2021 19:43

YSL touché eclat - did nothing for my dark circles.

Maybelline great lash- gave me 5 stubby flaky lashes.

serialhouseplantkiller · 01/04/2021 19:49

urban decay mascara - ended up halfway down my cheeks within 30 minutes. Useless!

GuyFawkesDay · 01/04/2021 19:56

Touche éclat gave me an allergic reaction.
The Ordinary stuff was.....well..... ordinary.
Benefit mascaras. All flake off and then I get panda eyes

Iamthewombat · 01/04/2021 20:02

L’Oréal nutrition gloss (used to be called mirror shine) shampoo and conditioner. Pink bottles.

God, it was awful. My hair felt like that plastic dolls’ hair. I had to buy clarifying shampoo to get rid of it. Never again.

Appletreehat · 01/04/2021 20:20

Hyaluronic Acid - maybe I need to find the right serum but I've tried 2 but they just feel like water and make my skin feel tight!

Elizabeth Arden Double wear foundation - too thick and I found it really hard to blend as it dries so quick. It felt like I was wearing a latex mask, really didn't like it!

Controversial...but I really dislike the smell of Chanel No.5. It smells unpleasantly musky and is too overpowering.

BoomyBooms · 01/04/2021 20:25

YSL touche éclat concealer version - conceals absolutely nothing, went back to my cheapie Revolution one.

Urban Decay better than sex mascara. Not amazing and smudges under the eye horribly.

diwrnachoflleyn · 01/04/2021 20:25

Benefit BeneTint

Maybe controversial, but you are right! Years ago I read a magazine feature where perfumes were blind tested by a panel of men and women. They had to comment on each one.

Chanel no 5 came last. A few testers said, “it smells like old ladies”. The winner was...get this!...original Charlie!

Penguin81 · 01/04/2021 20:37

Too Faced better than sex mascara - smudged under my eyes, even if I left the bottom lashes
Touche eclat didn't do anything for me either

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 01/04/2021 20:48

I agree with Chanel no 5, tried it in boots one lunchtime and hated the smell of it so much I was using the little wet wipes from KFC to try and scrub it off! Even after trying to wash it off when I got back to my office, the smell lingered for ages. It's just a really old fashioned perfume to me, I can't really tell what it's supposed to smell of because it's just so headachey and musty to me.

Appletreehat · 01/04/2021 21:00

@StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind @Iamthewombat Ha, good old Charlie, I used to like Charlie Red when I was about 12!

I know it had a cult status because of Marilyn Monroe but would it have been as popular if she hadn't endorsed it because it doesn't half sting the nostrils!

MabelMoo23 · 01/04/2021 21:23

@Appletreehat the problem with hyralauronic acid is that you can’t just slap it on, otherwise it will suck all the moisture out of whatever you have on top of it. Like make up .

The idea is, you sandwich it, so put on damp skin, then the HA, they spray a mist over it followed by moisturiser etc and it’s absorbing the moisture from the spray and locking it in etc.

It has to take the moisture from somewhere.

MrsBDarcy · 01/04/2021 21:34

The Ordinary for me too

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/04/2021 21:37

Astral Cream, it's pants.
Did nothing for the dry skin on my legs & elbows. It just sat there on my skin & actually made my skin drier.
I don't get how many MNetters rave about it Hmm
Now I use The Child's Farm Baby Moisturiser on my body & that is bloody brilliant!

Rainbowandscarlett · 01/04/2021 21:40

Benefit make up-all of it
Avon/natural collection-no pigment in either
No7-ditto and smells weird
Soap and glory make up just slides off
Urban decay-just awful make up
Lanolips-carex is soooo much better

LaceyBetty · 01/04/2021 21:40

All of it. Really the only thing that is proven to make any difference is Tretinoin and, because women can't be trusted to make their own decisions on these things, you need a prescription.

ChrissyPlummer · 01/04/2021 21:49

YSL Touché Eclat - did nothing at all.
YSL mascara; forgotten the name, smells of roses. Gave me lovely lashes but flaked so badly.
Bobbi Brown foundation (any of them) - terrible staying power.
Benefit foundation - all oxidise terribly on me; apart from Playstix, which they discontinued.
Urban Decay primer - perfect base for my foundation but gave me awful spots.

rizzo23 · 01/04/2021 21:58

Huda foundation. Everyone raved about it but it looked terrible on me and oxidised really badly no matter what primer I tried.

GloriaSilver · 01/04/2021 22:06

Charlotte tilbury foundation, makes me look like I rubbed flour on my face and goes patchy instantly.

MolotovMocktail · 01/04/2021 22:45

That Becca under eye product that everyone raves about on here. Makes me look like some sort of glittery greasy ghost.

Agree it's not a nice perfume on me anyway all the other ones are superb
