I used to love Aussie 3 minute miracle as a cheap fix but hadn’t used it for years. It used to be lovely and thick and my hair always felt a bit better after using it.
Bought a bottle last week - what have they done to it?! Horrible watery rubbish that did nothing for my hair.

Ghd curling wand - now I love a ghd product but this does nothing for me.

Rosehip oil - paid about £40 for a tiny bottle of this when it was all the rage a couple of years ago. Did absolutely nothing for me.

Clinique Dramatically Different moisturiser. I just don't get the love for this stuff. It's greasy and ineffective.

AgentCooper · 11/04/2021 16:32

I was disappointed in Chanel and Dior nail polish too. When I was in my late teens I so wanted a bottle of Rouge Noir and was delighted when a friend bought me it for my birthday. But it chipped so fast Sad

AgentCooper · 11/04/2021 16:34

Before I spend my money, has anyone tried Glossier Generation G lipstick? Any good? Or at least any better than a cheap tinted balm?

MrsDrudge · 11/04/2021 18:21

Prai neck cream. I have a tortoise neck so plenty of wrinkles for it to work on but used regularly and massaged in but made no difference whatsoever. I’ll have to stick to the polo neck jumpers or go back in my shell.

Lndnmummy · 11/04/2021 18:28

Aussie hair products. No idea why they changed it
Olaplex
Benefit hola bronzer
La Roche Possay products, without fail they break me out
Pat McGrath lipsticks. Allergic reactions to them

Lndnmummy · 11/04/2021 18:29

The Trinny BFF tinted serum. Shocking quality, it’s nothing serum like about it. A really rubbery paste that piles and sits in pores. truly dreadful abit

GuyFawkesDay · 11/04/2021 19:02

@AgentCooper I have two. They're definitely more than tinted balm. They're drier, more like lipstick consistency, and it's matte so just looks like your lips but better.

GuyFawkesDay · 11/04/2021 19:06

@EllaPaella try boucleme curl gel.

Very light formula, dries to a cast but a light scrunch and hair is soft, defined and no frizz.

It's the best curl product out there for me by a country mile

@GuyFawkesDay thank you, that sounds good actually!

@Fkrkrodps

YSL touché eclat - did nothing for my dark circles.

Maybelline great lash- gave me 5 stubby flaky lashes.

Wow! I’ve sworn by YSL Touche Eclat for years. I find it to be fabulous!
EllaPaella · 12/04/2021 15:06

Thank you @GuyFawkesDay

Chanel Le Blanc ‘multi-use illuminating base’. I was led to believe it was some kind of cult product but it does almost nothing! The difference to the skin is so subtle it’s not worth using (especially at £40 a bottle). Love the Chanel packaging though.

Bioderma bb cream. I love most of their stuff but this, the kifheay shade made me orange. And greasy.

But I love clarins double serum and the beauty balm. No other product comes close for me to use as a primer.

I like Chanel no 5 too, so maybe I'm just odd.

isthismylifenow · 12/04/2021 15:25

That should say lighter shade.....

Gwenhwyfar · 12/04/2021 16:33

@FreshFaceTime

Estee Lauder double wear foundation. Apparently the dogs bollocks on everyone else. Cakey and shit on me. And yes I tried every primer going and no it didn't make any difference. That foundation just hates me.
I think it looks cakey on everyone.
Gwenhwyfar · 12/04/2021 16:35

@MolotovMocktail

That Becca under eye product that everyone raves about on here. Makes me look like some sort of glittery greasy ghost.
Yes, it's too bright.
Gwenhwyfar · 12/04/2021 16:38

@CleanAndPaidFor

Agree about Charlotte Tilbury. Tried a lipstick and it was a horrible texture and colour. I don't understand why it's so popular. She uses herself in all her advertising too and looks very over made up ( in my admittedly middle aged opinion!)
I don't like her look because she's very pale and goes for strong colours and I'm not keen on that contrast so when people recommend her videos, it doesn't work for me.
Gwenhwyfar · 12/04/2021 16:43

"I recently ordered Tarte's Shape Tape 'powder foundation' as part of a bundle on QVC and found it absolute pants. "

I've just ordered Tarte's new creamy concealer from the US because I'm too old to wear Shape Tape, and the new one just doesn't work at all.

MerryGoRoundBrain · 12/04/2021 16:46

Where do I start... Charlotte Tilbury anything. Overpriced, quality IMHO comparable to any much cheaper high street brand. A very long list of brands of foundation: Huda, Fenty, Doublewear just to name a few. The Ordinary - faff which made exactly zero difference to my skin. These peel off things for the feet which you’re supposed to put on your feet and then healthy skin will emerge miraculously - nope, none of that happened.
Loads more but these spring to mind straight away.

WrinklesShminkles · 12/04/2021 17:50

@AgentCooper I've got 4 Generation G lipsticks and love them. They look very natural on, even the brighter and darker colours. The Jam one is miles better than Clinique Black Honey (my own let down many years ago - too shiny and brown toned).

Gwenhwyfar · 12/04/2021 18:43

@MummytoCSJH

Shape tape concealer. My skin is too dry for it!
Cross posted with you Mummy.
QueenOfDart · 12/04/2021 19:37

I love the GHD creative curl wand!

Very disappointed with Olaplex though. Also found anything MAC to be crap.

FreshFaceTime · 12/04/2021 20:31

@isthismylifenow I love the Clarins double serum and beauty balm too. I actually scoffed at the label "beauty balm"... I mean... beauty balm... what the fuck even is that?! Bloody lovely stuff, that's what.

HandyBendySandy · 12/04/2021 20:51

Aveeno moisturiser - so many hundreds of reviewers saying they swear by it for their face, but I found it creates a film on my skin that simply sloughs off like clumps of dead tissue.

Great for hands though.

@WrinklesShminkles sounds good! I think I feel an order coming on.... Grin
