Been thinking of trying this for a while, as I've felt in need of some style inspiration.
My parcel is due for delivery on 3rd April, but I think I get to know what's in it before that: I've said that I'd like a Spring dress for upcoming pub lunches.
Excited now.

Reading all the feedback here, it sounds like they have spectacularly messed up with meeting the needs of their key market?

Fallsballs · 29/05/2021 17:27

I think they missed a massive opportunity by not listening properly.
Waterfall cardigans should be consigned to room 101.

Lan2020 · 29/05/2021 19:57

Got my preview for my second box today and I hate it all. I asked for a black dress, a ribbed knit jumper like the one on their FB page, a knee length skirt and no bright, garish prints. One of the items I already said no to when they tried to include it in my first box.

Again, non of that box is fashionable

I thought these boxes were about fashion?

Am actually a bit confused now about the concept Grin

MaryTheMiddle · 30/05/2021 08:17

I thought the same when I got mine. I had said "new trends frequently" or however they phrase it. Something a bit silly like "adventure is my middle name, bring it on" (re trends). Waterfall cardi? Weird.

MaryTheMiddle · 30/05/2021 08:20

What is Market & Spruce btw? I got something from there too.

MaryTheMiddle · 30/05/2021 08:22

Oh, it's a stitch fix brand! Sounds suspiciously like another M&S, which isn't an entirely aspirational brand anyway! (I do like some things from m&s but I wouldn't buy a dupe of any of their things).

Fallsballs · 30/05/2021 08:45

@Lan2020 that’s not a pleasant looking screenshot ! You have my profound sympathy.
I wanted to try stitch fix to get out of a style rut, try new ideas and new trends but they are sending old trends and I don’t see the point.
My fix will be free due to someone kindly using my link, can’t wait !
Karma might send me a waterfall cardi 🤪

ChubbyLittleManInACampervan · 30/05/2021 08:50

You’ll get a waterfall cardigan in lilac

A fake M&S Speziale dress in taupe with a strange neckline

A fake joules wrap dress circa 2005

A sleeveless polyester top in dubious pattern

Grin

That’s my bet anyway

Hepzibar · 30/05/2021 09:00

First order done, I used someone's link- so thank you. Here is my code if anyone wants it.

I have had one Lookeiro box which was ok - kept 2 items but both quite 'safe' a fine knit jumper and a t-shirt. I really need some inspiration!

Someone was asking for a Lookiero code, here's mine:

jjejj · 30/05/2021 09:26

I've used stitch fix twice now and I've been really impressed. I've kept a jacket, jeans and a top so far and they fitted really well. When I specified a type/fit if jeans they sent a really good pair. I'm due another next month.

Fallsballs · 30/05/2021 10:07

What age approx are you @jjejj ? Wondering if it affects the fix.
@ChubbyLittleManInACampervan I concur but you have forgotten the £150 coated skinny jeans to match the lilac waterfall and a polyester vest top.

Postdatedpandemic · 30/05/2021 20:48

Never ever tell anyone you are over 50

I've placed my first Stitch Fix order!
Premier12 · 30/05/2021 22:26

Yes I'm interested to know the age of those who are satisfied with what they receive

Goshitstricky · 30/05/2021 23:06

I'm reading this thread wondering if I'm just super unfashionable because I like a fair few things in the 'is this your style?' spin thing. Blush

I got my first preview today, it was tragic but lots of sleeveless tops when I specifically said I don't like to bare the tops of my arms.
A couple of potential casual dresses though.

It's tough because I'm so unsure of how to dress and I'm aware I'm big at the moment, the stylist has no chance of making me feel comfortable I think.
I'll try a couple of boxes and then have a look at the other company.

Fallsballs · 31/05/2021 07:58

Style and taste are personal things @Goshitstricky ! Some things also look lovely on different people.
I too have put on weight so I am perhaps looking for the holy grail that doesn’t exist.
But I am leaning towards midi/maxi dresses and short light cardi’s to cover arms. I got one in Zara which seems to work as their sizing in maxi dresses is generous.

FourTurnings · 31/05/2021 08:05

I’ve had great experiences from Stitchfix and more recently Lookierio. Re: my age, I’m 51. I hope I don’t sound like too much of a prat but I am (alway have been) very clothes-conscious, love shopping and spend a lot and have an easy figure to dress. My eldest DS works in fashion and advises me regularly! What I’m saying is I don’t own any waterfall cardigans or buy from Per Una so it’s not that I would be happy with really pedestrian stuff that’s ‘comfy’ if you see what I mean. These companies (Stitchfix esp) are doing well in the retail market so it’s not just me...

Crappyfridays7 · 31/05/2021 11:49

I’ve had a lookeiro box ages ago and there was so much polyester and shapeless crap in it it all went back most was too small too. I’ve looked at the stitch fix and might do that at the end of the month when I’m paid again. Enjoying seeing what everyone else has been sent though. And hopefully I can see if there are any referral codes then too

RedCyclamens · 31/05/2021 11:57

If anyone is still looking for the get £25 give £25 link. I think this is for new users only -

Musmerian · 31/05/2021 23:24

I had my third box this week. First one a while ago was fine - everything fitted and I kept a pair of jeans, some fitted black trousers and a green batwing top. I’ve worn the jeans and trousers a lot. Second box was disastrous- lots of nasty baggy acrylic jumpers. This weeks had a lovely green linen wrap top and a denim skirt that I almost didn’t bother trying on but which was actually very flattering and I kept. There was a horrible faux leather waterfall jacket, a really frumpy wrap dress and a lovely blouse from In Wear that didn’t really suit me. I’m having another box this week.

FourTurnings · 01/06/2021 07:59

You see musmerian that is the point of Stitchfix for me - the skirt you never would have chosen but is actually very flattering. If I get a few items like that I’m happy.

SallyCinnabon · 01/06/2021 08:13

Just done the style shuffle again and 50% were black trousers/jeans. The rest were awful dresses with Paisley and tassels. Interested to see my preview. 🤔

SorryAboutTheTypos · 01/06/2021 22:23

Just been sent the preview for my next box and it’s so very boring.
