Are these cool/old lady/something else?

I saw these sandals last summer and loved them, but then thought they might in actual fact be awful and old lady like, but I am back looking at them again and cannot tell what they actually look like.

What do you think?

M&S Classic range ....
Although my feet are very old lady so may consider them! As last years sandals had velcro!

SmallPrawnEnergy · 23/02/2021 14:10

Chunky shoes and sandals are more on trend that skinny, flimsy sandals. Especially the trainer style sole.

Better than something from primark covered in fake gems and awful patent gold / silver Envy not envy

ChrissyHynde · 23/02/2021 14:11

I like them , 56 don't follow fashion much just buy what I like Smile

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 23/02/2021 14:13

Old lady, I'm in my 50s.

bloodywhitecat · 23/02/2021 14:18

Old lady, even older than me and I am 57.

Myheadmyheart · 23/02/2021 14:23

I like them! Ok I’m in my 50s but I think they would look good on a young person.

FredSoftly · 23/02/2021 14:27

If Kate Moss wore them, bet you'd all be cooing over them Grin

Juancornetto · 23/02/2021 14:29

I like the front of them but not the slingback and I don't like the white sole. I'm 42
I always prefer wide straps - for sandals, bags, vests, watches - I just prefer the look. And I always prefer flat soles to slightly wedge ones

diddl · 23/02/2021 14:31

My first thought is "old lady"-my 2nd is so what?

Maybe depends how they look/feel on & what you would wear them with?

ginghamtablecloths · 23/02/2021 14:31

They look comfy, perhaps a bit 'old lady' but who cares? But £100? I wouldn't spend that much on sandals even if I won the lotto.

Bythemillpond · 23/02/2021 14:33

Kate Moss is old

TeeBee · 23/02/2021 14:36

I'm 48 and those are just totally fugly...even old ladies would consider them so.

FredSoftly · 23/02/2021 14:36

Kate Moss is old

Don't be daft!

Timeforredwine · 23/02/2021 14:39

I'm 55, definitely old lady but they look comfortable!

Bythemillpond · 23/02/2021 14:39

Kate Moss is 47. You can’t call that young

HiPieInTheSky · 23/02/2021 14:39

Not for me either to chunky, but just browsing through TKmaxx and found these...

I'm in my late 20s and I think it very much depends on whether you can make them look cool with the rest of the outfit and your overall look.

Some people can get away with things others can't. I think if you really like them then go for it, at least order them and try them on with some outfits to make your mind up.

lockdownalli · 23/02/2021 14:40

Old lady.

I am 55

Changeythenamey · 23/02/2021 14:43

I like them and I hate Ugg’s usually. I’m 36 and think I usually have ok sense? I think they are a hint old lady and you can get some more ‘modern’ ones that have a cross front and more delicate sole/ heel.

janlevinson · 23/02/2021 14:43

A lot of the time I think it depends on what else you're wearing something with. These could look good on the right person but would definitely look old lady on me. They do look super comfy though.

WhySoSensitive · 23/02/2021 14:45

Old lady, but saying that I would also wear them. They look comfortable, and I’m all about comfort these days!

duchesspodcast · 23/02/2021 14:45

I agree with those saying it depends totally on the rest of the outfit and general vibe of the person.

I'm petite, not young, and very non-edgy and they'd look clumpy on me. Bit taller, broader and stylish and I think they'd work.

On the other hand, I bet they're comfy so who cares Grin

Boggydog · 23/02/2021 14:48

I like them but agree that the colour is a bit yuk and don’t like the white soles. The red TK Maxx ones with the espadrille soles are great. But is so depends on you feet/height/style etc.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/02/2021 14:49

They look comfy but the Birkenstock version looks comfier: Birkenstock Tulum

TBH I don't go for brown but as long as my plantar fasciitis is happy, I'm happy. I'm late 30s.

Cloudesley · 23/02/2021 14:51

I'm 57, wouldn't be seen dead in those but perhaps they're sort of "granny chic" for younger people or something?
