Is anyone else obsessed with Katie Jane Hughes on Instagram?

I literally love her so much. She is so talented and every single look she does is just so beautiful!

Her tips are also amazing and have completely changed my make up game (eg. Eyeliner for hooded eyes, using smaller brushes for applying face makeup, cleaning up mistakes, using colour further up on the lid so that it doesn't disappear when you open your eyes, although I still can't do her brows!), I love her use of texture, the way she uses brushes in different ways, I purchased the awesome Weleda Skin Food because of her (as well as several other products). And her look is just such a refreshing change to the 'matte, cut crease, false lashes at all times' look that is still quite popular on social media.

Plus I love the new 'Katie Jane Hughes Academy' thing she is doing now where people copy her look and she will show them and tag them etc.

I am desperate for her new Spectrum brush set but don't think I will be able to justify 160 quid on it!

And plus, she just seems like a really cool person!

I promise I'm not her Mum or anything 😂 I was just wondering if anyone else loves her as much as I do?

Gave up on Instagram a while ago tbh! Her make up doesn't look to my taste and I do not like the Insta business model, at all. It's like MLM, selling to 'friends' (aka marks). Not my thing at all.

I prefer a natural look like Lisa Eldridge is famous for but I think Katie's looks are aimed at a completely different market where it's desirable to look 'done up.'

She uses too much make-up for my taste but she seems genuine and lovely and she's very attractive/striking. She has that Anna Nicole-Smith bombshell look about her.

I love the stuff he has done on models, no Orange to be seen, not so keen on her own look at times it seems rather late 70s early 80s

I know you mention that you're not her mum OP but going by the opening post are you sure you're not getting commission or anything?

Omg yes! Bloody gorgeous!

@Thebestposter yes? The thing is it's different - for so long it's been heavy foundation, overdone eye makeup, heavy glam. Hers is very editorial makeup but also focusing on no filters on videos and not covering up every single inch of skin
I see that as lovely blended eyeshadow with really sharp wings and skin that isn't loaded with foundation and powder
It's a complete contrast to say this (pic I grabbed off google) with still being different and not just natural makeup

I am honestly shocked that she's only 37. She looks at least ten years older especially the weird picture of her in a fluffy purple jumper. She's clearly popular but it's not my idea of beautifully or skilfully applied makeup at all - some of it is so cartoonish if I just saw a random photo I'd think it was a piss take. The hanging bottom lip doesn't help

She has perfectly nice lips beneath that overdrawn lipliner. I don't think drawing obviously over the lipline is a good look.

I love her!! Love her Instagram lives, her personality- weird singing & dancing. I LOVE her eyeshadows... would never use on myself... agree that her face is too shiny for my taste and in general I think her looks look best about 6 steps before she finishes them (ie less lipstick and blush). But overall I really love her. She’s been a proper saving grace and source of fun in lockdown!

I’d not heard of her but having looked her up, I like her! Really like her style too, although I guess I am on the quirky side of standard.

I like the fact she’s not a teenager, not overly tanned/fake-tanned and doesn’t use false eyelashes everywhere. Some if her looks are a little too shiny for me (I have oily skin and if I followed them I’d start a fire in bright sunlight).

I hadn't heard of her and just had a look. I literally cannot understand why/how she has so many followers! She looks better and younger without heavy makeup (like most of us do) I am not a fan of the shiny look and having watched RuPaul last night, I don't think as a woman I would want to wear so much make up.
