I like that linen tunic dress @Countmeout.

While I can understand there being difficulties with using models at the moment, I don't see why they can't have more than one photo. What about a back view? On a picture of it on a dressmakers dummy?

Countmeout · 22/01/2021 17:06

Yes @parttimepunk it’s the sort of dress I like just to pull on and you’re good to go, quite casual.
They give the length but I’d like to see the way they fit. I suppose you can order and return but will wait, too cold to think of yet.
Some clothes do appear to be on models though eg new pyjamas.
Anyone got their eye on anything else?

Saurus72 · 22/01/2021 17:23

Yes to shop mannequin, that would surely just invoke a few people working socially distanced in a studio. I get that’s not ideal for their brand identity but sales would surely increase.

Laska2Meryls · 22/01/2021 17:44

I really love this dress but £225 ? Shock.

Cupro (Google says that Cupro is a “regenerated cellulose” fabric made from cotton waste.) and Viscose.

Nope. sorry.

I have orderd this Dhuggie to 'see', as its timeless and I can see me in it, but even so its probably too expensive..
If i like it, I may refer my DS or some other family member for a code!! (ummmmm)

They could do lots of different things. I think posting one photo of a garment on its own that you cant see the back of is ridiculous. Other companies are even putting them on hanger or doing model selfie shots.
Templetree · 22/01/2021 19:04

Measurements would help but they still havent bothered to do this.
I love that Linen dress but wont order until a few reviews have gone up as Im not splashing out and having to send back.
Has anyone got the cream wool cotton Gansey ?
Not sure what size to order .
Im a 12 but it might be too big in a medium and Im preferring a neater fit.
That and the denim panelled skirt will be my lot until it gets warmer.

AmethystMoonShine · 22/01/2021 19:19

@Laska2Meryls I have a few of Toast’s Dhuggies and I love them. I think you’d suit them. So versatile, come into their own in warm weather as casual wear around the house and garden. Great as nightwear too. Let us know how you get on?

ScottishMouse · 22/01/2021 21:08

Does anyone have the navy tie neck cardigan? I managed to grab one on John Lewis at the crack of dawn this morning but they only had a medium and I’m hoping it’s quite a neat fit. Can anyone tell me? Also, how do you wear the tie?

Laska2Meryls · 23/01/2021 08:12

Really pleased to just get an ochre Mira half price from JL .. I dont think that was in the Toast sale 😄

parttimepunk · 23/01/2021 13:08

I keep going back to look at the tunic dress. It's the sort of thing that could be perfect for me, but I'm wondering where that top seam lies when it's on. If it's right across the bust then I think it would be v unflattering (on me anyway).

Countmeout · 23/01/2021 14:21

Yes I love it too. I suppose it depends where your boobs are and which bra you’ve on. Oh for a photo, but inevitably the models boobs wouldn’t be where mine are.

Saurus72 · 23/01/2021 15:29

My olive coat dress from the sale arrived and it is beautiful. Fabric stunning, a dirty dark olive colour which sounds horrific but I think suits my pale complexion well. I think it would work most of the year except the depths on winter. My only hesitation is that I feel it may be a little too big. Really not sure whether to keep it or return it and hope there’s a smaller size in the next sale. I just am very wary of letting it go because I love it. Any opinions would be gratefully received please. OH loves it, says it looks a little big but not ridiculously so.

It's very nice - but does look too big...

faustina · 23/01/2021 15:55

It does look lovely and the colour suits you. Do you know if it was in the JL sale too? Might be worth seeing if they have one come back in stock if so - just keeping the one you have for as long as possible. Or maybe you could ask Toast if they have a smaller size as a return? They might do that

faustina · 23/01/2021 15:57

@parttimepunk - it is so annoying not to be able to see how it looks on a person isn't it. It looks like the arms might also be quite fitted too. Some of their knitwear is like that

Saurus72 · 23/01/2021 16:09

@faustina good idea about asking Toast if they have a return I will do that. It was in the JL sale last summer but I haven’t seen it once because it was massively reduced.

Laska2Meryls · 23/01/2021 16:23

Saurus I thought that it was in the JL sale, probably worth a stalk.. early in the morning is best ..I think their sale ends this weekend though..

Re asking Toast about sale returns, will they do that? I would like the red linen top in a smaller size.. I have the M , but it is a bit big..sadly no other reappeared last week .. Ill keep the M otherwise

OP posts:
parttimepunk · 23/01/2021 16:35

@Saurus72 that coat dress is lovely, but I do think it's a bit too big for you, especially around the tummy and hips - there's too much material and it's gathering.
@Countmeout yes, unfortunately I think my boobs would be in a somewhat much lower spot than a models
@faustina I hadn't even noticed that the arms were neat looking, but you're right.
Gah bloody brexit. It was already expensive to pay for postage to Ireland, but now I'm going to get hit with a customs charge too. So I'm really reluctant to order something unless I really need it / have a wardrobe gap/ can be fairly sure it will fit.
I'm going to have to enjoy Toast vicariously through you lot for the time being. (And wear all the items I already have in my wardrobe rather than waiting for some indefinite point in the future).

Countmeout · 23/01/2021 17:10

Agree @Saurus72 maybe too big especially in the hips, is it linen? It always stretches too.
Do try asking re return, worth a try. It’s a lovely colour.
@parttimepunk I am in no mans land and parcels only supposed to be ok until March and then who knows? Some companies already not willing to cross the border in the Irish Sea.
Fingers crosssed for a discount before March, they usually have one for a new collection don’t they?
I’m sure they would give measurements for sleeves etc if asked. It never occurred to me about the sleeves being tight.

bigbeachedwales · 23/01/2021 17:13

Did anyone get the fracap boots in black in a size 6?? I'm desperate for them and they're all sold out in black!!

Saurus72 · 23/01/2021 17:46

Thanks for your comments and thanks @faustina for your suggestion to check with Toast re: returns. I just did the online chat and they said no sign of a size 12 which is v sad. I think this is the dress that gets away as I’ve tried it on again and it’s clearly too big, so back it goes. V sad 😔

faustina · 23/01/2021 17:48

@Saurus72, what's the exact name of it? we can keep an eye out on JL for you

Saurus72 · 23/01/2021 17:56

Ah thanks! It’s the cotton linen coat dress and the colour is ash green, size 12.

faustina · 23/01/2021 20:04

I'll keep an eye out for it @Saurus72

I picked up this today from Waitrose : wool cashmere sweater - and much as I really really don't need another jumper, it's actually so lovely I might have to keep it!

I also found a 30% off everything code for Sweaty Betty which worked! so have ordered some very un-Toast-like jogging bottoms (but they fit beautifully)
