@Saurus72 - I really like the way it's styled in the pic below. Could you try something like that?

faustina · 06/03/2021 18:23

Sorry - wouldn't upload it before

Saurus72 · 06/03/2021 18:25

Hmm - I tried wedges to try and make me feel less dumpy and weeble-like. I live in flat sandals in summer so I have some options. Not sure whether it’s one of those times where it’s best to push myself out of my comfort zone and wear it or listen to my inner voice which is telling me it’s not right.

ilovecherries · 06/03/2021 18:25
@ilovecherries - I quite like the checked culottes on you - and I LOVE your top. Where is it from?

@Countmeout please please post a pic when you get the dress!
Haha, the top was a 99pence bargain from Sainsbury’s final sale two or three years ago. It’s 100% acrylic so I fully expect to still be wearing it when I’m 90!

faustina · 06/03/2021 18:26

It's really pretty!

Saurus72 · 06/03/2021 18:26

@faustina - ah yes I saw that picture. Tbh that’s just not me and I don’t like it worn like that. Think it’s going back...!

ilovecherries · 06/03/2021 18:28

saurus I think it fits you well and has a lot of potential. I’d style it informally though - tee shirt and canvas sneakers probably, maybe a slim belt.

applecatchers36 · 06/03/2021 18:39

Saurus agree it would well for a casual look, flat sandals, Birkenstocks, trainers and underneath slim fitting tee? But it has to fit with your lifestyle and how you like to wear clothes, so if you don't think you would feel comfortable then maybe it's not right for you...

Countmeout · 06/03/2021 18:43

Yes those ones @ilovecherries. I think they’re the ones I have but I thought they were described slightly differently, gingham/cashmere, like the dress, anyhow I sized down, they are massive.
Yes I’ll post a picture of the dress @faustina. Likely to be over a week, post has been slow.I’m not holding out much hope for it being any good when it comes. I would have liked to try the S. I’m keeping an eye out for a return.
I’ve always liked that jumpsuit @Saurus72.

Saurus72 · 06/03/2021 18:45

Thanks all - it’s packed up ready to return to Waitrose tomorrow. It was too voluminous and the fabric (though lovely) was stiff so it really didn’t do anything for me. I think when the shops open I’ll go into a Toast shop and try on a few jumpsuits though as I like the idea of them, just not this particular one. Also - really need to lose the 10 pound COVID weight gain 😬

Hello all!
Was hoping for a review of the green soft twill trousers that went in the toast and JL sale of anyone has bought them recently.

MaudesMum · 08/03/2021 08:07

I've just taken the plunge and ordered the A line pinafore from John Lewis before it vanishes there as well. I'm apple-shaped so hopefully it will work! In order to fund its purchase I've put a few of my previous Toast purchases on e-bay. Here's hoping!

Laska2Meryls · 08/03/2021 10:12

Ive ordered the bottle green linen trousers today 🤦 supposed to be on a no spend month ! . Ah well, its FOMO though because the toffee ones of the the same model, and the striped linen ones are both sold out in smaller sizes and I think these may do also

faustina · 08/03/2021 10:32

@Nosejobent - I think someone here posted a pic of them - try scrolling up

ilovecherries · 08/03/2021 11:18

@Nosejobent

Hello all! Was hoping for a review of the green soft twill trousers that went in the toast and JL sale of anyone has bought them recently.
I bought an ecru pair which I think are the same at the end of last summer. Wore them loads, washed well. I did have to size up one size to a 14 for the waist and consequently they are a bit baggy elsewhere but I quite like them.
Nosejobent · 08/03/2021 13:05

@faustina would love to be able to see all the pictures in these toast threads at once, a real people catalogue of looks! Haven’t found the picture I want yet on the thread but i will persevere! Smile
@ilovecherries yes it did come in the ecru! pleased to hear a good review though the JL review suggested sizing down as it was roomy. tricky.

ilovecherries · 08/03/2021 15:15

If you have a small waist, def size down. My waist is my most problematic part and I find Toast likes neat waists.

Nosejobent · 08/03/2021 16:20

Ah ok, my waist is my least problematic but that’s probably by default because of the size of my hips!! Grin

ilovecherries · 08/03/2021 16:41

These ones are very roomy on the hips. They really are too big for me as I’m really a 12 everywhere else.

ilovecherries · 08/03/2021 19:56

Have packaged up the entire parcel to return, no of it was really doing it for me at the price. Have kept the denim pinafore from JL though. It’s not all 😇 though as I replaced with two pairs of barrel leg trousers from CoS instead.

faustina · 09/03/2021 12:15

@ilovecherries - I've just ordered the barrel leg khaki trousers from Kin - snap! - am very hopeful for them. Hope your cos ones are good too

ToastCosILoveIt · 09/03/2021 13:25

A Small in the Garment Dyed Linen Dress in Black Coffee came up on the Toast site and so I have ordered that and a Medium. Reviews say it comes up very large and I am a 12 so it will good to be able to compare which is more flattering. A couple of other things might have found their way into my basket too as I had a 15% off so took advantage.

@faustina, which size barrel legs did you order? I will be interested to know what they are like when you get them.

ScottishMouse · 09/03/2021 13:43

Despite my rant about not buying any more, I have just received the Piu stripe wrap jacket. I put my winter coat away last week and discovered the mid weight coat I had (a very old sale buy from Toast) has bitten the dust. Which leaves me only with a denim jacket that is too lightweight for now.
So, I need something that will work with all my clothes and can be worn to death in spring and autumn. I really like the Piu jacket - very comfy as the sleeves are wide, also cosy as it is thicker than I thought it might be. But I’m afraid it’s not super flattering on me. Can I have your honest thoughts? It looks better closed as there are too many ties hanging down when open, but I would be more likely to want to wear it open. Maybe I could do something with the ties...

faustina · 09/03/2021 13:54

I think it's really nice left open, but I totally see what you mean about the ties- they would drive me a bit bananas
