Hello all Toasties , a new Toast thread for us to discuss clothes and life..

I agree, it’s pretty much impossible to make a judgement on clothes when you can’t see them on an actual person. Re: sale - I just looked at my orders for last year and i ordered a dress in the sale on March 16th so maybe not too long to wait now. There’s only one thing on my list from Toast which is the blue wave dress - current price £225 😬.

I'll be surprised if they have another sale that soon.. because not long since last one ended.. but who knows if they did last year..
I said that I wasn't going to order any more, but I thought id ask Toast if they had any or the Ora olive checked blouse that was in the sale and they did , so have ordered one , thought that it would look good with the pinafore..

I think they actually will have a mini sale to rid themselves of stock from the winter. They will have maybe more spring stock and early summer stuff.

Toast pinafore came back in stock in JL. Couldn’t decide on size and I was panicking as only had one each of 12 and 14 so ordered both to be on the safe side. 🙄. Will probably make me look like an ancient pregnant lady but hey ho...

The pinafore looks great. Is it as loose on everyone as in the Toast video?
The shirt is beautiful @MrsCat1. It’s the sort of thing you’d keep forever.
I think there’ll be a sale. Do they not have one before they launch summer 21?
I bought a sale item on 16 th April but I think it was towards the end .

It could be looser on the top for me count but thats lockdown lard! I need to get back onto that ! Here's another photo from the other day.. it is slightly wider in the skirt than I thought..but I also tried the 10 and tbh there wasnt much difference in skirt width ( but with my norkage was a bit snug on top and I decided that I preferred it looser )

Oh, Lord, I am really dithering now re: denim pinafore. I can’t decide whether to order size 6 or 8. Usually size 10 in other shops but 8 in Toast. Got the denim dungarees in size 6, they fit perfectly. Not sure whether to size down 1 or 2 sizes for the pinafore.

Argh!

Also want to get this and this, not sure my bank balance is strong enough for a full onslaught like this! Blush

@balkanscot well if it’s any help, I’m a size 14 in most shops, 12 at Toast and my pinafore is size 10 and it’s roomy.

@Saurus72 That’s interesting, thanks. I took the plunge this afternoon and ordered size 6. All their pinafore dress stock is due at the end of April, so I have to be patient. Argh!

Just to say that there are a few bits and pieces coming onto the JL site at 70% off. I bought the navy wool neck tie cardigan and the organic denim jacket in biscuit today (the latter is possibly too optimistic with a small child but I can dream of the days when I put on a garment and pretty much keep it clean until I choose to remove it. Whitby seagulls permitting.)

Arrived at home today apparently, but obviously am not there to see them. DD has opened for me and sent me a WA basically saying I need to come home soon or she will stage an intervention as I have started dressing like an Amish woman. She is pretty much always a full size smaller than me so am encouraging her to try them both on (ordered a10 and a 12), and assess how big they are on her so I can send at least one back. She’s saying she isn’t prepared to take compromising photos of herself and send them online as ‘once out there...’. Cheeky mare. Anyway, surely I will be home by the time JL’s returns policy expires...

Hahaha re: your daughter 😊. What’s your usual Toast dress size? I would say the pinafore will be 1-2 sizes smaller than that.

I kept the 12 Cherries as 10 was too snug on the top really for my 36e, but it was only just too small, so may be fine for you .Its A line and as I am inverted triangle I could have done with the 10 on the bottom and12 on top!) ..

Really Love it though ( Amish? Dutch look is fine !! ) .. I now and strangely drawn to the Fracap shoes they have to go with it !! ( but wont be trying them unless they appear in the sale at all ). I would have if they had them in red though

Saurus id usually wear a Toast 14 in dress because of norkage and shoulders , but Toast Sizes are weird . (I have lots of S/ 10 toast tops!) . it does come up big and so did the cord dress , I found ,..

Usually a 12 in their dresses, but skirts are another matter, always a14 and sometimes even then they are too tight to be comfortable.

I haven't worn the pinafore yet. I settled on the 10, didn't even try the 12 on but now wondering if that was a mistake as I am a 32g bust. I am generally a 12 on the highstreet.

ToastcosIloveit.. I'm sure yours will be fine.. I have Swimmers (or rugby players!!) shoulders and a fairly broad rib cage..
