@Laska2Meryls, luckily my local Waitrose is a 12 minute walk. It is a small one too so open now but I can't be bothered to go back up there. I will go tomorrow as a break from work.

I haven't worn my pinagore yet but am looking forward to wearing it with slim jumpers, then blouses and, when the weather is warm, lovely Toast teeshirts.

ToastCosILoveIt · 21/02/2021 18:33

Also, really enjoying reading the Toast reviews for the pinafore: 66 now and almost all of them raving about it.

applecatchers36 · 21/02/2021 19:30

Laska the pinafore looks great and could see it being great with the striped yellow Emma. 😂 at the dutch comment sounds like something my DH would say!

ScottishMouse · 21/02/2021 20:01

The pinafore looks great on you @Laska2Meryls. I tried it, but there was just too much fabric in the skirt for me as I am very short. I have a lovely straight one from a few years ago which is a good length. Sadly the newer version of that one is quite a bit longer. I wish Toast would do different lengths in some of their core range.

Reported that . ( Sigh)

ScottishMouse I am not that tall (5'6) and an inverted triangle shape.. (bigger on bust than hips so the skirt is quite wide tbh) but I reckon that I can ( just) away with it ...

OP posts:
Laska2Meryls · 21/02/2021 20:44

Yes they are often very long in the skirt and too short in the trouser ! 🤷‍♀️

ScottishMouse · 21/02/2021 21:15

I’m only 5 foot 1 @Laska2Meryls, so I struggle sometimes with the longer styles. On the up side, trousers are usually plenty long, and often need turning up!

Saurus72 · 22/02/2021 09:55

Morning, long time no Toast clothes bought, it’s nice to be here again. I just went to collect the pinafore from my local Waitrose (along with a Modern Rarity charcoal grey coatigan - sorry hate that word- 70% off so v good). Here it is, what do you think? It’s very comfy, love the giant pockets (perfect for smackerals when we’re allowed out in the wild again), it is quite a-line (@Laska2Meryls I can see what your OH means about it looking Dutch...) I think it will work with heeled boots/wedges in summer. Think I’m going to keep it. Sizing is ludicrous - this is a size 10 which I am most definitely nowhere near in reality.

Love that @Saurus72 can I ask where your boots are from?

Saurus72 · 22/02/2021 10:29

Ah thanks - they’re from Whistles but about 2 years ago, they were a great sale bargain!

Laska2Meryls · 22/02/2021 10:32

Looks fab Saurus ...what do you think about the weight and slight stiffness? Its weight is the one thing that I am not sure of..
Sadly my wide shoulders and norkage means that I am more comfortable in the 12, than the 10 but that means that the bottom is a bit wider also on me.. I do love the huge pockets though..

OP posts:
faustina · 22/02/2021 10:41

@Saurus72 - looks really nice! Are you keeping the modern rarity coatigan? I also picked one up a few months ago - in khaki

ilovecherries · 22/02/2021 10:43

Really suits you both, Saurus and Laska. I know it’s oos at the moment but have been thinking about pre-ordering it but I have quite narrow shoulders and wonder if it would drive me bonkers by always falling off my shoulders.

In other Toast news, I did order a denim shirt dress after Xmas - had the half button one initially then swapped it for the full length button version. I hadn’t seen it but DH posted it onto mums for me last week, and I really like it. I think I will use it as a layering piece rather than a dress so will be nice for spring.

Replied to wrong message - thanks!
Saurus72 · 22/02/2021 10:55

@Laska2Meryls - well funnily enough it’s much softer and more supple than my other Toast pinafores so from that perspective it’s better. Looking at the photos it doesn’t look too a-line but in reality it really is.

@ilovecherries - have you checked on JL? They have a few returns each day so might be worth it? Re: shoulders - hmm not sure if you would be troubled with straps falling off as they go in a bit at the back where they’re fixed IYSWIM.

@faustina - I am keeping it! They’re good aren’t they - I bought a burgundy one also at 70% off a few weeks ago. Will be good for wfh or if I go back to the office for a few days a week as it’s really cold and I think they look pretty smart over dresses.

Laska2Meryls · 22/02/2021 10:59

Cherries definitely try JL, they have been are getting returns in . I think that you'll find the shoulders ok, its quite high necked at the back so so signs of slippage

Hi! Hope it's ok to jump on. I've never bought anything from Toast before and I was hoping someone would have some advice on sizing.

I'm usually a 12 and tend to go for a 14 if tighter (as don't like clothes to be skintight) and occasionally a 10 if something is very voluminous.....

Looking at the half sleeve linen sweater and the Gansey wool cotton jumper. Not sure whether to go for S (10-12) or M (12-14).

Laska2Meryls · 22/02/2021 12:34

Hi littlepeas I find Toast sizing to come up large on the whole vut with jumpers I tend to size up.. I would try the M
You you like my 15% code? Ill pm you because you need to use my email and name

Yes please! That would be amazing - thank you.
ToastCosILoveIt · 22/02/2021 14:39

@Laska2Meryls, picked the dress up and it is a keeper although I am going to unpick the hem to maximise the length as it is finishing just above the knee at the front and I would rather it finished on or below the knee. I am 5ft 5 and find that Kin dresses of this shape often come up a bit short for my liking. Thank you for the advice on sizing: XS is right.

I also ordered the Kin Crossover Kimono dress which is fab but I wonder if I should have ordered the 8 (comes up very big and i have the 10)...

MrsCat1 · 22/02/2021 19:26

Well Toasties I decided I was long overdue a ridiculously expensive treat from Toast. So I ordered the eye - wateringly expensive cotton embroidered bird shirt. It is lovely but a bit too big so I'm swapping for a size down. It is quite short but very cute. So that's my Toast budget blown for the season! I just hope it wears well! Smile

I am now very tempted by that denim pinafore - it looks wonderful on you both. I'd scrolled past it before without giving it a second glance. Just goes to show how much it helps seeing clothes on people.
Does anyone known if there might be a mid season sale soon? I'm also considering the linen tunic dress but can't face full price it and the pinafore (and possibly also the green jumpsuit).
