Thanks @Laska2Meryls, ordered.

Countmeout · 20/02/2021 11:42

Sitting down with my catalogue.
Will report on my purchases later/tomorrow.

ScottishMouse · 20/02/2021 13:14

Catalogue just arrived here too. I’m intrigued by the woven paper bag and hat.
Also, I can’t remember who was wondering what the green thing in the background in the Instagram video was. There’s a green check dress I haven’t seen before called Check Cotton Gathered Dress in pastel lime, I wonder if that is it?

ToastCosILoveIt · 20/02/2021 16:14

My catalogue came this morning too. It will be a nice read now all the chores and the walk is done.

My Annie jeans came this am: from Ebay - BNWT. They are great on, a good fit at 12. As reviews said, could definitely do with moving the button as they are small around the waist.

It was me wondering about the thing in the background although I thought it was lemon, but Toast colours are confusing. Nothing is ever quite the colour it looks on the screen. The paper bag is a shocking price, I have a similar shape from Zara which is awfully useful in summer. I like the sleeveless Ikat top in the catalogue. I bought another Francis long sleeve tee. It’s chalk white - odd colour but useful. I thought I’d send the garment dyed linen shirt back but I love it, useful open or shut. Has pockets, winner! Just slightly concerned how it’ll wash in case it goes limp.
ScottishMouse · 20/02/2021 20:09

Oh I never look at the price of the bag! Actually I was more interested in the hat. I am always on the lookout for a hat I can wear in the summer - fine hair and fair skin means it’s a must.

ScottishMouse · 20/02/2021 20:09

Looked

notveryhappyhere · 20/02/2021 20:11

@Countmeout I was looking at the chalk white tee shirt. How would you describe the colour? Thanks.

Countmeout · 20/02/2021 20:36

A bit weird. Like thin milk if you know what I mean. Sort of odd colour. I would describe it more like parchment, although I haven’t much experience of parchment. The linen shirt which they call parchment is more like cream. Anyhow it’s a pleasant change from dark colours. The Francis tee is a nicer cut and feels much lovelier than any other layering tee I have ( at a price though).

notveryhappyhere · 20/02/2021 20:46

@Countmeout thank you!

Laska2Meryls · 20/02/2021 21:14

Picked up Kin Mark Making dress from Waitrose today. Its fab, also the Toast A line pinafore, really lovely(actually a bit surprised as I thought that I was too busty to wear anything with a bib top ) but ir is far too big.. they only had it in 16, but thought that id try it out to see if the style might work on me despite norkage and surprised that it did .... anyway it does.. and as 12 came back in to JL have reordered..

@Laska2Meryls, pleased the Mark Kin dress has lived up to expectations. Picking mine up tomorrow.

SmaugMum · 20/02/2021 22:14

Climbing out of the trenches after being shell-shocked by Thread No. 5. Name change but original poster. Vowed never to return but I’ve missed the Toast distraction.

I, too, have received my catalogue today and I am saving it - along with the very expensive chocolate and fresh coffee - for when the children return to school on Monday (practising punching the air in delight).

@ilovecherries, I am so, so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved dad. I hope you are being kind to yourself and your loved ones are taking care of you.

It’s nice to be back amongst friends; even wearing my best disguise. 😀

ScottishMouse · 20/02/2021 22:35

Does anyone have the Francli phone case? I’m thinking of buying one for my sister for a special birthday, but haven’t seen one in the flesh so wonder what it is like.

Laska2Meryls · 21/02/2021 08:54

Here is the Kin dress ToastcosILoveit arrived a bit creased, I really love it though..
Hopefully picking up the smaller pinafore dress later..
Welcome backSmaugMum, I think that we got caught in the crossfire back there but now are all back to our lovely carrot weaving and chicken shape pottery making selves!
Hopefully I will have a Toast catalogue in the post tomorrow 🤞

@Laska2Meryls, thanks for the welcoming vibes! I love that pinafore on you, it’s a great length; what’s the top you’re wearing under it?

I have developed a new obsession: stalking the John Lewis cashmere 70% off sale! I’ve bought a bundle of snoods, scarves, gloves, berets and beanies, in a multitude of colour ways to put away for next Christmas for all the important females in my life, from 13 to 96! I was also lucky to grab a couple of JL cashmere travel wraps, in burnt orange and berry, reduced from £145 to £44 each. They are my new comfort blankets and the burnt orange, in particular, contrasts beautifully with both my Toast ochre and pear wool cashmere knits.

I’m segueing from someone who permanently wears denim and grey and navy neutrals to a new (improved?) me who is experimenting with bold (for me) colour: it is bringing me such joy (my domestic life is very difficult currently and lockdown 3.0 is endless).

A bit late in the day, but does anyone here have a fashion-related resolution for 2021?

ToastCosILoveIt · 21/02/2021 17:26

@Laska2Meryls, the pinafore looks good, are you happy with it?

Unbelievably, i have been for a walk and popped into Waitrose to pick up some shopping, have just got home and realised I didn't pick up the Kin dress while I was in Waitrose...

faustina · 21/02/2021 17:53

@ToastCosILoveIt - that is exactly the kind of thing I regularly do!

@Laska2Meryls - that pinafore looks fabulous on you - really lovely. I might even be tempted myself, though I think I need to eBay a few more things first

@SmaugMum - I have also been attacking the John Lewis cashmere - it's really nice quality isn't it! I now have four cardigans and a jumper and am sitting on my hands. If anyone's tempted, the yellow is a great shade - much nicer than it looks on the screen

Laska2Meryls · 21/02/2021 17:58

Snaug its the Toast striped Francis top.. lovely colours far to expensive really for a tee, but I had a 15% voucher and seem to have kept it ..
toastbecauseIlove it .. yes definitely keeping the pinafore..(sadly full price because it was form JL) .. I was in two minds but have tried it on with a few things now.. It looks great (I think ) with the lemon and blue striped Emma top that was in the sale . ARGH! how annoying about the Kin dress.. Hopefully you are not to far away though and can go back tomorrow , our nearest Waitrose (the only one on the island ) is a 15 mile drive away so I tried the dresses on quickly there first .. (luckily being Waitrose the loos are in big separate rooms with full length mirrors in doubling up as baby changing / disabled/ washrooms and not little cubicles, so not at all grim)

OP posts:
Countmeout · 21/02/2021 18:05

I could do that too @ToastCosILoveIt.
Those both are great @Laska2Meryls. The Francis tees are great but I wince at the price.
