Yes like browsing, I’m stuck in harems and t shirts as I’m trying to pack up a house. I’ve all my dresses packed. But I do put on clothes if I’m going out. ( like once a week ) Did anyone think they could have sized down on the video?
And what’s that top on their Instagram stories , ...... ?

ScottishMouse · 16/02/2021 20:47

Oh good, I didn’t kill it!
Yes, @Countmeout, agree about sizing down. At least for the dark haired model. Though I definitely prefer oversized than fitted on my body, makes me wonder if I sometimes look overwhelmed by fabric though.

ilovecherries · 16/02/2021 20:49

Actually, I like talking about clothes, and trying them on and styling them, but I don’t necessarily need to own them. Or at least not all of them - I’m not that virtuous! A few years back I lost 6 stone in weight and had a breast reduction and clothes do now give me a lot of pleasure - and restocking my wardrobe from scratch was fabulous, but now I have a good (not minimalist!) selection I enjoy trying existing things on in different ways. Having been living at my mums since October while caring for my dad, I realise that I’m not only homesick for my daughter, my dog and my husband, but in fact for my wardrobe. All I have here are joggers and sweats and I want never to see them again, I want to fiddle about with real clothes.

Yes, they could have sized down but if they are anything like me, I struggle with waists. I did like the clothes but not in the combination they chose to put them in. The tabbard would have looked better with slim fitting trousers. The skirt was imo too volumous for the top. Everything just looked too big. @ScottishMouse, I am sure you don't look overwhelmed. @ilovecherries you will be so glad to get into some of your other clothes!!
mizu · 17/02/2021 09:47

I'm like you Scottishmouse quite minimalist in the things I have - I share a clothes rail with DH (ok so I probably take up 3/4 of it Grin) and have a couple of drawers so not much space. Have mostly TOAST stuff but collected over years and mostly from eBay with the odd new thing.

I'm always trawling eBay for something TOAST but this month I am not buying any clothes and it is actually very easy. I am taking photos of things I see and like though!!

Not wearing a huge variety of things at the moment and seem to be reaching for the same things anyway.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 17/02/2021 18:02

cherries am really sorry to hear about your dad. Flowers
ScottishMouse I am with you (or should be!) I am not a minimalist though but do have enough for now
What are your favourites in your wardrobe?
I really enjoyed the video. The oversized look is very toast. It has inspired me to try wide top and wide skirt but not sure if it will suit me. I do wide top and trousers already but fitted top and wide trousers is more flattering for me. Agree variety of shapes and sizes would be good.
It cemented my decision to buy the green linen jumpsuit - will do so when I get a 15% off i think. Not sure anything else appeals enough - the colour palette not best for me this time.
ToastCosILoveIt your pinafore was featured!
I really like carrier company (the style, haven't bought anything from there) which was linked by @moominmammaatsea

applecatchers36 · 17/02/2021 18:36

Yes also really enjoyed the video, in the absence of being able to get to a shop and try anything on was great to see the clothes on real women with normal shapes.
Agree the oversized skirts, dresses, tops is something that I associate with Toast but also very now as also seen in Kiln, Cos and others.. Sometimes you do need to try something on to get used to a different style. Last summer I ordered the French blue print wrap dress and initially was shocked by the volume/ amount of fabric to the skirt but then I started wearing it and it ended up being my most worn summer dress.
This winter my wool Gabi's have been one of my most worn items because they are warm and comfy and reasonably smart for work as still going to work for a public facing role.
That green jumpsuit looked great on her, without seeing it like that didn't really pique my interest but it's totally different seeing it worn in the video. Looked great and very wearable.

ScottishMouse · 17/02/2021 18:37

@BerniceBobsHerHair oh, that’s a nice thing to think about. My favourites are: indigo Alix trousers - the best Alix trousers they have ever done imo - the black chalkboard dress from last summer, a bottle green merino sweater with a high neck and a boxy shape from a few years ago, and the Hal denim jacket.
What are everyone else’s favourite Toast pieces in their wardrobes? Great question!

Countmeout · 17/02/2021 19:14

Favourites - My Darcy jackets, a cotton polo neck ( described as turtle neck) in maroon and navy, my big scarf -I’ve worn it every day and the Annie Culottes which have been a surprising success.
Look forward to hearing about everyone else’s.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 17/02/2021 19:34

Mine are the anja shirts - I have 2 checks ones and one cord. Also the anni check dress from last summer and the indigo button trousers and some slate barrel leg trousers, not sure of their name. Although I like most of my toast clothes and any mistakes i sell on ebay.

ScottishMouse · 17/02/2021 20:59

@BerniceBobsHerHair I love the Anja shirts. Just not on me. I had the lovely blue check one from last year. Let it sit in my wardrobe for a year before selling it on eBay. I can’t wear things with a collar for some reason, and I kidded myself that the Anja shirt would be the one to change that. Alas, it wasn’t to be.

Fortherosesjoni70 · 17/02/2021 21:11

I absolutely love the Emma tops. I have the orange, navy, green, striped linen, plain rust linen, striped yellow and blue cotton. I wear them frequently as well as my pinafore dresses. I have 3 pinafores but not worn so much because Im not at work. I really like the gabi trousers. I have just the cotton ones. Also a shirt that has fine ticking stripes in blue that is worn all the time.

Fortherosesjoni70 · 17/02/2021 21:13

At the moment I am not really wearing any toast stuff. I just cant relax in it at home. I just feel too dressed. Silly, i know. I am wearing a few seasalt dresses. Jersey ones that I shove over leggings with my dm's and sometimes jumper over the top.

Fortherosesjoni70 · 17/02/2021 21:13

A recent purchase was my Keith haring dm shoes. Love them. Sadly missed out on the boots.

AmethystMoonShine · 17/02/2021 21:42

Mmmm favourite Toast pieces... this really got me thinking. I’m struggling as I love so much. I love this dress and I have the belt too, but then there are so many Toast dresses love and this navy jumpsuit is perfect for summer usually with white lace up canvas shoes or saltwater sandals.

Oh so much! I love the Emma and the Francis tees ( seem to have collected all the colours over the last few years!)
Atm its definitely the Mira jumpers (have the orange striped and cumin both bought in JL sale) which ate so soft and such a fab shape on me) I am currently wearing the brown slate cord dress recent purchase and have worn that 3 times already since buying a couple of weeks ago..
Then long collarless shirts (some pretty old) keep coming out of the wardrobe atm.. I particularly like the Taro dogtooth check which I actually bought full price , was amazed that it didn't seem to sell so well . Its a fab piece ...wear those with my cord gabis ..
Ans thw absolute wear every day ( but a bitboring) purchases have been the bamboo slips from a year ot so ago which I use as nighties and vest tops which I wear with pj bottoms !

Laska2Meryls · 18/02/2021 09:08

Also last summer I wore my blue 'Monty Don' jacket loads.. I bought the Hal denim one in the winter sale, expect to wear that a lot on the spring ..

I remember that someone else- as well as me- here liked the Kin Mark Making dress they have now finally reduced it !! I have just ordered it in XS ...it is their oversized cut ..

OP posts:
Laska2Meryls · 19/02/2021 17:07

Also the funnel neck top in khaki is reduced.. I have that already and its really nice.. Again size down

ToastCosILoveIt · 19/02/2021 17:15

@Laska2Meryls, it was me who liked the Mark Making Dress. I am a 12, 10 in Toast Gabis. Should I order the S or XS do you think? I got the teal sweatshirt dress in S and thought it too big so sent it back x

Laska2Meryls · 19/02/2021 17:47

Definitely the XS ToastcosILoveit thats the one I have ordered and I think that I am bigger on the top than you.. (12/14 top/ M in a Toast Emma tee and 10 Gabis ).. My Kin cord dress and the funnel neck top are both XS

favourite Toast clothes? Hmmm - well lately not much tbh. I haven't worn the jumpers I bought as much as I thought I might and have retreated to the plainer cashmere I have - mostly Brora. I've worn the navy cord gabis a bit, but I don't love them as much as the stone coloured twill ones, and I can't wait to wear the slate cotton linen trousers and the beige Alex linen trousers - and I loved the indigo jacket too - looking forward to that again. I bought the khaki long sleeved tee but have barely worn it - but I love the short sleeved toast tees, though they somehow don't feel right under a jumper, maybe because they have to hang properly. I do like the fair isle jumper - it's the warmest thing I possess!

Templetree · 19/02/2021 18:47

Did anyone get the Toast catalogue through the post?
A few nice new things in there.
