I like the crochet top too but a) would never pay that price for it, and b) think it is more suited to a boyish figure which, alas, I am not.

My Dora boots arrived today along with ginger Gabis and the cotten linen boxy shirt in blue. i haven't tried the clothes on yet. The Doras were a struggle to get on and are tight on the ankle when on but nice and roomy in the footbed (which I need). I need to wear them around the house to see if the ankle loosens. They look good on and resemble a pair of Dr Marten Chelsea boots that I had which fell apart on the inside.

Templetree · 12/02/2021 17:41

Has anyone seen the Instagram Styling Conversations?
They are trying to make socks and sandals happen -nope.
Really liked the check wrap dress -really flattering unlike most of the other items which just looked frumpy.

Templetree · 12/02/2021 17:42

@Countmeout

Did anyone watch igtv showing spring stock, was it the styling thingy (sorry words have left me I am tired 😬) that you could take part in. The crochet top featured.
Cross post!
Countmeout · 12/02/2021 18:40

Yes to the boyish figure. I loved that fair isle sweater the presenter was wearing but she was quite flat chested and I am not.
I kept seeing things on the rail behind that I wished they’d put on (but didn’t)
The check dress was lovely.
But agree socks and sandals are not the way to go.

faustina · 12/02/2021 19:02

Thanks for the heads up about the styling insta thing - it was very interesting! Also helped a lot to see how things actually look. Really, they should have a little video for each piece and it would make life much easier!

faustina · 12/02/2021 19:14

Really liked the jumpsuit!

Countmeout · 12/02/2021 19:26

Yes thought the jumpsuit surprisingly nice.
What is the yellow thing in this picture . Just got a glimpse of it on rail, I thought it would be lovely for summer - is it a dress?

The brushstroke dress looked different at the hem from I expected. I thought I’d like it but now not so sure.

It was a bit waffly and I really hope they would speed up and show more. I thought the presenter looked the nicest lovely sweater and denim crops-trying to work out which ones they are. Glad others were no to the socks and sandals. They were horrific

I noticed that it stuck out quite a bit rather than falling fluidly.
ScottishMouse · 12/02/2021 19:54

@Countmeout Is it the shirt that one of the models wore under the denim pinafore?
Agree about the socks and black sandals, though I quite like the Birkenstock & sock combo.
I also really liked the fairisle jumper on the presenter. Does anyone have it? Is it itchy? Some of the reviews say so, and I am v sensitive to itchy wool.
Also liked the denim pinafore, even though I didn’t give it a second glance on the website. The blue check dress too - looked so much nicer on than it does in the photos online.
Just shows you how useful it is to see the clothes on actual people. I hope they do more of these.

ScottishMouse · 12/02/2021 19:59

That reminds me...I emailed Toast recently about styling advice for a piece that had no photos on a model, and they suggested looking at the photos reviewers posted. I couldn’t find these. Has anyone ever seen these on the website? I think this would be really helpful.

ScottishMouse · 12/02/2021 20:02

@faustina The jumpsuit was so lovely. Another thing I would have passed over online. Though I suspect I would find sizing tricky as I am a Toast 8/xs on the bottom but a 10-12/s-m on top. That is ok for dresses, but jumpsuits tend to either be too big on the bottom or too small on the top. Disappointing as I love the look of a jumpsuit or dungarees.

ScottishMouse · 12/02/2021 20:03

@Templetree Totally agree about the dress. I actually thought the model had got one side of it caught up in itself. It looked quite weird.

faustina · 12/02/2021 21:01

@ScottishMouse - I am similar with sizing, but I would still definitely try it on because it's so pretty. I'm so cold at the moment though, it's hard to think about a time I won't be wearing two jumpers though : (

faustina · 12/02/2021 21:02

@ScottishMouse- just seen your post about the photos - now that would be so useful wouldn't it!

faustina · 12/02/2021 21:04

can't find any. Perhaps they meant to look on instagram?

ScottishMouse · 12/02/2021 21:11

@faustina oh maybe, they definitely didn’t mention Instagram. And to be honest, I don’t really know how Instagram searches work - I’m such a dinosaur! Someone tell me how to search Instagram to find pictures of people wearing Toast, rather than Toast’s own Instagram.

Countmeout · 12/02/2021 21:11

@ScottishMouse I don’t think it is the shirt it looks as though it’s something in a paler yellow. The pinafore looked very useful I love deep pockets for putting things in. I don’t flower arrange though.
Photos would be useful.
Maybe they mean our reviews 🤣
I’ve weakened and ordered a second Francis long sleeved T and the linen shirt in parchment which I think may look nice with the delave linen trousers I got in the sale.
I’ve held off on the linen shift dress and I think it’ll probably be disappointing and I’ll not have it on for months. Worried it may be shapeless. To be fair I like shapeless but there’s shapeless and shapeless!

faustina · 12/02/2021 21:16

@ScottishMouse there's one called hashtag toast being (can't find the hashtag on my keyboard!)

Memo7 · 13/02/2021 00:52

@Countmeout I like the look of whatever that is too! Hope it is a nice summer dress.

ToastCosILoveIt · 13/02/2021 09:28

Picked up a neat fit button through cardigan in cinnamon at 5.30am for £46 from JL. Seems the same style as my lovely lime green one that I bought last season.

Love the Instagram video, especially the green jumpsuit and the check dress which looks much better on than in the picture on the website. Quite liking the socks and sandals look....

AmethystMoonShine · 13/02/2021 10:53

Just watched the IGTV styling video, and oh my goodness why do they not do this regularly?! Seeing pieces on real people was miles better. The website models are thin and rarely have any curves (and look grumpy!) which puts me off a lot of styles (as I am not thin and do have curves Grin). The models they choose have led me to think Toast is really aimed at boyish figures and it’s luck if I find things that fit me... but this showed that they look good on other body shapes too.
It’s also a vast improvement on the garment shots on the site since Covid that can be so misleading.
I so hope they do more of these. Although socks and sandals are not a style I can pull off.......

ilovecherries · 13/02/2021 10:57

I’d love to wear socks and sandals. I have princess feet, I loathe having rubs on my skin.

AmethystMoonShine · 13/02/2021 11:37

I wish I could make it look right, I also have princess feet Grin but I just look odd! Confused

AmethystMoonShine · 13/02/2021 11:37

Not sure I’m stylish enough Blush
