....which I may swop out for the twice-the-price Pear one 🤭

Do you mean the one with the sleeves think it’s bright olive @Laska2Meryls from the new collection or is it the sale?

faustina · 25/01/2021 13:35

@Laska2Meryls - I always buy jumpers big, so I'm not sure it's going to be much help to you! The last two cashmere things I bought were a regular thin round neck from uniqlo in a Large - and then a boyfriend fit cardigan from Brora in an 8-10 (but it was toast generous sizing). I think you like things more fitted than me, right? but are a little bit bigger and taller, so probably you would be happy with the small in the pear jumper

faustina · 25/01/2021 13:35

I could measure later today if you like?

AmethystMoonShine · 25/01/2021 14:32

@Laska2Meryls I’m a sort of hour glass leaning to pear shape Grin, so that makes sense what you say about the linen dress. I’ve got plenty of hip to fill out the lower half Hmm
Shame the Dhuggie was see through, I have two in navy, different prints but they’re not at all transparent, so don’t give up! I could really see the style suiting you.

Laska2Meryls · 25/01/2021 15:34

Don't worryFaustina I am definitely keeping the ochre half price Mira..
Its a L but I like jumpers big also..
Difficult to photo in this light, but its a fab colour, also with slight green tint..
Tried to show brighter colour but photo hasn't worked that well.. Modelled with chic gardening trews and long vest !( I should write a ' lovely for cutting the hedges on my country estate " review !! )

what a beautiful colour it is @Laska2Meryls!

Saurus72 · 26/01/2021 09:29

My raging insomnia has paid off - I bought a cashmere wrap from JL at 2.15am at the bargain price if £44, reduced from £149. I was looking at this a lot last autumn but just couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for a scarf - and turns out I didn’t have to 😊. It’s this one, but in a burnt orange colour www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-cashmere-travel-wrap/light-blue/p5087375 - I saw it in store before lockdown so I know I love it. Few things better than bargain cashmere!

Laska2Meryls · 26/01/2021 10:42

That's an excellent buy Saurus.. I have a bargain one that I bought a couple of years ago in TKMaxx in a mushroom colour, it mainly gets used as a snuggly for when I am on the sofa atm , but also in the van to wrap up on a colder evening ..

Anyone else a bit bereft as the Toast sale is no more? I know there is the odd JL return but tbh nothing I want!! WIBU to be slightly worried about my compulsive Toast buying here Grin

Saurus72 · 26/01/2021 11:08

Tbh @Laska2Meryls I’m quite relieved as I know that I will stop shopping which I really need to do! I have my eye on a couple of dresses from the new collection. The shape of this looks really interesting but the price is ludicrous so definitely only to be bought in the sale at 50% discount www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+dresses+and+tunics/c1qbj/brushstroke+print+drape+dress.htm

I also think I’d get a lot of wear from this and would definitely buy it at full price - but from next month’s salary as this one’s depleted! www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+dresses+and+tunics/c1qba/indigo+denim+pinafore+dress.htm

I’d like to try this too, although Toast skirts rarely work for me so not too hopeful. Again, only once it’s in the sale as £175...! www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+skirts/c3qbc/cotton+sateen+wrap+skirt.htm

Laska2Meryls · 26/01/2021 12:39

Actually me too Saurus I adore that Brush stroke dress , but would never pay that much for it ..
It looks very similar in shape to the lovely green dress ( which I also didn't buy because I am just not wearing dresses much ...) in the sale.
The pinafore dress is lovey also , but bibs just dont work with my boobs sadly ..

Templetree · 26/01/2021 15:50

Im quite pleased the sale stuff has gone.
I always look forward to a new season.
However I havent bought anything.
I had planned to buy the indigo panel skirt and the cream gansey but cba really.

Theres no immediate likelihood of wearing them and Im loath to end up with my wardrobe too full.
Going sloooow on my knitting will do for now.

faustina · 26/01/2021 16:23

oooh @Templetree - what are you knitting? Now that I've finished repainting my kitchen cupboards I was thinking of knitting something too! Could do with a bit of inspiration!

I find it difficult to think about buying any more clothes until I can at least leave the house without bundling up in a big coat - except perhaps for the new uniqlo Lemaire collaboration which launches in a couple of days - have my eye on a couple of t-shirts perhaps

Saurus72 · 26/01/2021 16:29

Yes, most days I look like a womble. Wool tights, jumper, big slipper boots. Can’t really think about anything apart from being warm.

mizu · 26/01/2021 18:45

saurus72 womble GrinGrinGrin I think I probably do too.

Just missed out on a TOAST olive cord dress on eBay this morning that is still on the website for £150. Was teaching at the time and was pipped to the post as I wasn't concentrating Grinstudents were in breakout rooms !

Templetree · 26/01/2021 20:50

@faustina
Im knitting a jumper currently but Im sure if I rummage Ive got some socks that need finishing.
Once it gets warmer I will get the fabric stash out and do a couple of linen summer dresses.
@Saurus72 Im in womble mode too plus thick wool socks.
I quite fancy some of those Birkenstock clogs, the sheepskin lined ones.
Does anyone know how the sizing comes up?

Laska2Meryls · 27/01/2021 08:16

Good call on looking for JL cashmere, I just solved part of the DH lockdown birthday gift problem with a yellow cashmere sweater on offer ..

OP posts:
Laska2Meryls · 28/01/2021 08:23

Its eorth looking at JL if you've recently bought Toast stuff, they have reduced some prices again. I have just put in price matches for the Alpaca lace jumper( now down to 78 ) and striped top (down to 31.).

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 28/01/2021 09:45

@Laska2Meryls can you do this if the items are now out of stock? Or were they in stock when you put in the price match request? (I’m guessing they must have been for you to know what price they had gone down to.) I bought two Toast items at 50% off in the last two weeks, but neither are in stock now. I assume they would be further reduced if there were.

AuldFox · 28/01/2021 09:48

It’s worth asking JL @ScottishMouse. You can ask for a price match directly through the website form, no need to call them.

Laska2Meryls · 28/01/2021 09:56

ScottishMouse Yes you can if they are still on their stock list (youll know by googling the item and seeing if it comes up with a price but showing oos) . So for example my striped top is still in stock ( so thats how I knew they had further reduced) . Then I tried with other things that I had bought and the Pumpkin jumper cameup oos but with a reduced price but the Mira one didnt( it came up as unlikely to have further stock so no price shown ).. .So i could price match the others but not the Mira . Also cashmere jumper I bought yesterday for DH came up cheaper as well !!
Give it a go ! They usually let you know in and refund in less than a day ..

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 28/01/2021 10:12

Thanks so much for this @Laska2Meryls. Sadly neither of the things I bought are showing up with a lower price. Ah well, they were still quite a bargain at 50% off.

Laska2Meryls · 28/01/2021 10:18

Oh, and I just got my refunds confirmed ! £47 back !! 😄
