Princessing goals for 2021?

FuckOffDailyFailure · 27/12/2020 11:31

What is everyone working on for 2021? Obviously, events might not be happening, so I don't have anything to aim for.

However, I'm planning a self-care / hygge style makeover for myself.

I want to:

  • Eat healthily and maybe shed a few lbs!
  • Drink more water and less Wine
  • Tone up my arms, so I can wear tshirts and sleeveless dresses in the summer
  • clear out my wardrobe and pack things into storage. Things I am unlikely to need, like my work suit Xmas Sad and going out things
  • more reading / studying (I am a pt student) and less screen time! Need to go to all my online tutorials next term Xmas Blush. Keep forgetting as they always happen at kids' bedtime

I need to shift some weight - my bmi is over 30 now and I have a family history of t2 diabetes.

I lost 5 stone a few years ago but have put 2 back on. I don't mind getting to a bmi of 26/27, eating well but not to restrictively and being active so I'd be happy to shift 1/1.5 stone. I need to work a bit in the mental side of it - crappy food as a treat is my downfall.

I also want to look at my wardrobe. I am wfh but do a lot of calls with camera on. I want a comfortable wardrobe which doesn't make me look scruffy. I have a bad habit of buying cheap not quite right stuff and I want to change that.

I want to rethink my make up as well. Mid 40s means I want a little brightening up and need to change products to suit my skin.

I want to sustain exercise not go in fits and starts. I like being active once I've actually got off my bum but I do have a tendency to go at new stuff too hard and hurt myself then give up. A little every day here I think.

2021ComeAtMe · 27/12/2020 12:06

Oh please can I placemark and come back to you all later?! I've decided to 2021 will be the year I get my act together (especially the first few months as hoping to maybe start trying for DC2 in the spring Smile)

Will come this afternoon and check in with you all!

LadyFoxtrot · 27/12/2020 12:16

Oooh yes please!! I have so many. I turn 33 in January and I feel like it’s time to buckle down.

  • Lose weight. I have a lot to lose, around 4 stone to be a healthy BMI, BUT I am also pregnant, so will just be cutting out sugar and crap as opposed to cutting calories. It’s going to be a long old slog, but this is the number one thing I need to do.
  • tooth whitening strips, every day in January
  • get back into my daily runs- have been slacking since October!
  • stick to my morning skin routine. My evening one is great, but I am guilty of rolling out of bed and booting up my laptop, so the morning one has fallen to the wayside.
  • weekly face mask. I have a huge stash that I’ve just stopped using.
  • get back in the gym three times a week and lift weights. Once tier 4 is lifted, of course!
  • up my 2L of water to 3. Should be easier now I’m not having coffee.
  • weekly manicures; my nails were shit most of last year but are finally playing ball thanks to the baby hormones, I want to keep them nice.

That’s all I’ve got for now! Can’t wait to see everyone else’s.

Eaumyword · 27/12/2020 12:35

I'll keep watching this thread!
The biggest thing I need to tackle is weight loss, but I also need to get out of some other lazy habits.
I've started this morning by going through my wardrobe and making a charity shop bag of anything that is too small/haven't worn in ages.
I have recently sold 4 Chanel bags and a Chanel jacket and put the £££ into a savings account for my DS, but will hold back some for beauty treats.

Disorganisedfish · 27/12/2020 12:41

I feel terrible as I’m just wandering around placemarking - but I need you all! I’m 40 next week and feel like a troll! Let me feed DS and I will be back!

LaBellina · 27/12/2020 12:43

Lose 5 kgs
Drink more water
Eat more veggies and fruit
Sleep more
Working on my capsule wardrobe : still need to find a nice long woolen cardigan, a cashmere turtleneck, well fitting jeans and some pretty tops and trousers for summer.

Audreyseyebrows · 27/12/2020 12:46

-I need to lose a stone. I need to look at my diet and need to move more!

  • Drink more water.
hangryeyes · 27/12/2020 12:47

I’m in, I slipped into a lot of bad habits this year... which is fine, but need to get a new routine for 2021 as I’m going to be wfh for a long time yet, so that can’t be an excuse anymore.

I need to lose weight, get a bit of style back and overhaul my diet! Which means seriously scaling back the sugar, treats and alcohol and setting up new routines.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/12/2020 12:54

Yes please!

My goals for 2021- look after my skin and hair a bit more
Be very focussed on flossing my teeth and taking care of my gums
One last effort with my Philips lumea
I am also going to do a Whole30, did one in July and felt amazing, then have pretty much stuck to a paleo diet since then, but I am going to do a strict whole30 by the book again in Jan, including a dry Jan.
Adriene's 30 days of yoga starting on 2nd jan
I don't need to lose any weight this year, except maybe a few pounds gained over Xmas.
I run a lot, and am pretty fit, and have had a good month in December workout wise, so will keep that up.

I think generally for me it will be a process of caring for myself a bit more and pampering myself a bit. I had Covid in November and since then I've felt washed out and tired looking. I'd like to get a bit of sparkle back into my face!

B127 · 27/12/2020 13:01

I was hoping someone would start a princessing thread, thanks OP.

My aims are to take more care of my health and wellbeing generally. Lose a stone (thinking of joining the low carb bootcamp here in January), make an effort to do my hair and wear lipstick and perfume every day. Do my 10,000 steps. And cut down on using my phone all the time, so that I can read more and sleep better.

That's it for now. Started today by using some lovely soap in the shower and starting a new book. Both Christmas presents. Feeling excited about making some positive changes.

Eaumyword · 27/12/2020 13:02

Sugar is my absolute crack.
I don't know what's wrong with me. I just had a little sit down and a cup of tea, with some chocolates.
This is EXACTLY what I'm NOT supposed to be doing!
Bloody hell, I'm a lost cause AngryBlush

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 27/12/2020 13:14

Ooo yes. I lost weight over lockdown but want to lose more. And not feel like a troll as someone else said.

OooErrThor · 27/12/2020 13:15

I feel so rubbish at the minute maybe this is something I need to do, it's even something I can control unless the Christmas chocolates jump in my mouth again

Hmm I need to have a think about achievable goals...I'll be back

NightOwl19 · 27/12/2020 13:21

Ooo can I join? I'm due my baby in February and had quite a rough pregnancy but need to start focusing on me and hopefully that will help me feel better

  • I want to get my steps in each day, not sure how many whilst pregnant because my hips are killing me most days
  • skin care routine I have completely lost my way with this
  • make up I feel so much better wearing it but never make the effort so this is a must
  • teeth whitening strips if anyone can recommend?
  • just had my hair done in w different way which is more low maintenance and got a dyson airwrap for Christmas so want to just take basic care rather then a bun on top of my head
CharlotteRose90 · 27/12/2020 13:26

Oo I love these threads.

I want to lose the 10kilos I’ve gained since March 😩

Get back to the gym and work out.
Tone my arms
Start looking for my first house to buy

Stop eating so much junk food and get veg into my life

AdoraBell · 27/12/2020 13:28

I seriously need to get back healthy eating.

That’s the biggest thing for me as I gave on everything when I lost my job during the first lockdown. If I can get my diet under control I will be able to work on other areas.

mofro · 27/12/2020 13:31

Ooooh great thread! I wanna be a princess too :)
Mine are

  • Lose at least 4 Stone and get bmi to normal range
-regular exercise and make it part of my daily life
  • eat good food and a lot less junk
  • productive workwise while working from
Home
  • daily self care and grooming
FuckOffDailyFailure · 27/12/2020 13:32

I like all these ideas!

I would love to have beautiful, manicured nails. God knows when they'll let me back in a salon though! We are tier 4, so everything is shut!

I am growing out my hair, so my hairdresser said to leave it three months from the last appointment, which is just as well, since they are closed.

I've just done a half hour yoga session from an app. It's not much, but it's a start! Dc1 is isolating at the moment, so it's difficult to go out, although everyone in the house except dc1 is technically allowed to.

Sugar is also a problem for me! I don't eat that much sweet stuff, but I have a spoonful in my Brew and then there are all the hidden sugars in processed food. Need to cut it down to half a spoonful in the tea and then eliminate entirely. Also trying to cook as much as possible from scratch now, so at least I'll be aware of how much sugar and salt there is.

WeCameToDance · 27/12/2020 13:33

Lose the stone that I’ve put on this year. I’m so bloody annoyed with myself! (She says while shovelling in biscuits Blush)
Stop biting my nails. I get them healthy and long and then start biting them again.
Skincare routine every night, not when I can be arsed.
Get my hair dyed lilac at some point. I’ve always wanted to do it but getting it blonde enough destroys it. I’ve finally grown it long enough that I can lose some length to do it.
Drink more water and less coffee.

FuckOffDailyFailure · 27/12/2020 13:38

@LaBellina, can I ask you about your capsule wardrobe please? What have you got in there? The idea really appeals to me, but I can never be ruthless enough or commit to a small number of clothes. I am clearly a fashion floozy Xmas Wink.

OP posts:
FuckOffDailyFailure · 27/12/2020 13:39

I've also gained weight this year. I've lost a little too, but overall I'm up a little under a stone since this time last year.

OP posts:
PatchworkElmer · 27/12/2020 13:43

If things get back to something more like normality, I want to get to the shops and sort my wardrobe out. And my makeup could do with an update too.

I’ve started the last few days by making more of an effort with my makeup since Christmas- I did it ‘properly’ for the day, and felt so much more like myself.

Beautician trashed my nails removing my gels, so I’m not going to have them done again. Will grow out the damage and then start painting them myself.

Turquoisa80 · 27/12/2020 13:47

My goals are lose 1.5 stone by reducing sugar and eating more fruit and veg, practice yoga everyday, get to grips with a skincare routine, I really want to get my nose pierced, dress well so that I feel more confident, make an effort to wear the jewellery I have and expand my mind by reading more and watching documentaries.

Indecisive12 · 27/12/2020 13:48

I want to maintain and improve my skincare routine.
Tone up My stomach and Arms as I’ve noticed a bit difference the last couple of years
Improve my teeth by using the whitening strips regularly.
Learn some new hairstyles as it’s either down and straight or in a messy bun of sorts.

hangryeyes · 27/12/2020 13:55

@thenewaveragebear1983 I’ve been toying with whole30, I started it once before and lasted 2 weeks but then a few unexpected things came up and I fell off the wagon. I always come back to it but haven’t been in the right frame of mind for a while. I think it would help break the bad habits that aren’t directly calorie related, like drinking Diet Coke, too many carbs etc.
