Princessing goals for 2021?

FuckOffDailyFailure · 27/12/2020 11:31

What is everyone working on for 2021? Obviously, events might not be happening, so I don't have anything to aim for.

However, I'm planning a self-care / hygge style makeover for myself.

I want to:

 • Eat healthily and maybe shed a few lbs!
 • Drink more water and less Wine
 • Tone up my arms, so I can wear tshirts and sleeveless dresses in the summer
 • clear out my wardrobe and pack things into storage. Things I am unlikely to need, like my work suit Xmas Sad and going out things
 • more reading / studying (I am a pt student) and less screen time! Need to go to all my online tutorials next term Xmas Blush. Keep forgetting as they always happen at kids' bedtime

Hi all and welcome to those joining!

Happy New Year! Here's to some New Year princessing. I am doing dry January! Just decided today. I have about half a bottle of wine in the fridge, so dh and I are going to finish that tonight and I'll start tomorrow. Will tag an extra day on at the end.

Healthy eating plan starts tomorrow too, as my online grocery order comes tomorrow PM!

I'm tired, after staying up to see in the New Year, so need an early night tonight.

Thanks for starting this thread OP. Happy new year all!

My goals for 2021 are

 • print more photos and put them in albums.
 • pass my theory test and continue to do driving lessons.
 • move house (hopefully this month!)
 • continue to pay debt. It will all hopefully be clear by 2023!
LBB2020 · 01/01/2021 11:59

Happy New Year!
I’m going to start on the healthy eating/diet from Monday as that’s when I’ll do the food shop. I’m planning to have a pamper night tonight (if the baby settles downstairs with DH), face mask, paint nails, exfoliate, body lotion etc.
I’m actually feeling really positive and motivated Smile

Karcheer · 01/01/2021 18:48

Evening all.

My no. 1 priority is to lose weight - 8.5 kg to be precise.
This is going to be predominantly with diet until we can go to the gym again.

I'm going to keep up with beauty maintenance which ive been really lapse with.
Wear make up daily and do my hair - it makes me feel better.
Not wear tracksuits everyday.
Stop eating chocolate and crisps by the bucket load.

I'm also going to do some work on my wider yearly objectives (Health, Family, Money, Fun, Career, Family/Relationships, Personal growth etc) next will add these in as I go.

Lupinspotato · 01/01/2021 20:29

Happy new year everyone! I also want to join in after having a baby last year. My goals are:

-Firstly, I need to lose weight. Ideally 16kg, but will initially aim for 10kg as that seems to be more realistic (and that will take me into a healthy BMI). Will start 1500 calorie diet on Monday.
-I also need to keep up with/restart on beauty care. Moisturising daily, regular hair and face masks etc., wear make up again
-Sort out my wardrobe

Also have some extra things in mind, keeping house in order and getting into a routine with that, studying for an exam I have later this year, reading more... the usual!

Vodkafairy75 · 01/01/2021 20:55

Happy New Year everyone! Another one who’d love to join in 🙋🏻‍♀️ Guess I’m the same as most people on here; too busy looking after others, working, house work, etc that looking after me is waaaay down the to-do list.

My goals for this year:

Is to lose around 1-1.5 stone. I’m going to follow a Slimming World diet. I’ve previously lost that way before but as I already have the books, etc I’m not going to join the classes. I tend to only lose 0.5lb a week if I don’t do any exercise on the diet but I can lose up to 2.5lbs if I exercise 3 times a week.

I used to enjoy going to Jazzercise which is obviously not happening at the moment but I found some dance fitness videos on YouTube that I quite liked the look of. I find dancing a more enjoyable way of exercising than going to the gym, running, etc. I’m aiming to do them 3-4 times a week. I’ve also ordered 2kg weights to use for some toning moves.

I recently bought a facial cleanser brush and it’s really made a difference to my skin. Makes it feel much softer and looks brighter. I’d totally recommend you try one if you haven’t already. It was only £12.99 in Aldi so a bargain 😊. I’m also going to try to do masks, etc weekly. I’ve barely wore any make up during lockdown and the last time I wore it my toddler said “Why you so scared, Mummy?” 😳. It was only a tiny amount as well that I had on 🤣

Clothes wise I have sooooo many clothes but I tend to stick to jeans and a Breton top mainly. I have an almost 3 year old so it’s much easier to chuck those on than to think about what outfit to wear that day. Might try and plan my wardrobe for the days I’m not at work to try and vary what I wear.

Looking forward to hearing about everyone’s updates 😃

Turnedouttoes · 01/01/2021 21:44

I’m so in 🙋🏼‍♀️ my health/lifestyle right now compared to this time last year is shocking. Gradually through wfh and not going out much I’ve just let so much slip. DP even asked me the other day if I’m just not bothered about making an effort to look nice for him anymore and I really do want to sort myself out for myself and him so here goes.

Olaplex no.3 every week
2 face masks every week - 1 salicylic acid/1 hydrating
30 mins of yoga every day
Minimal alcohol
Low carbing
Style hair with Revlon hot brush after every hair wash
Skincare every morning and evening
3l of water per day
Take vitamins, probiotics & biotin every day
Make an effort to get out of trackies/work out clothes at the weekend

Cookie79 · 02/01/2021 09:08

I’ve only been at this properly since yesterday, but on dry January now so that should make a difference to my sleep quality and skin.

Found some Jillian Michaels 7 minute workouts on YouTube I used to workout to in the summer and managed one of those first thing. Will get on cross trainer later.

Diet-wise - Off to town later to the fruit and veg shop to stock up on healthy foods as the selection in the local Co-op was a bit depleted yesterday. It’s a brilliant shop, been there in various guises and locations since I was little surviving the councils various attempts at regeneration and it’s got the most amazing stuff, good quality and loads of things I’ve never heard of and a section at the back with Indian herbs and spices.

Will also drag DD out of her pit and out for a walk.

catpoooffender · 02/01/2021 09:13

Just wanted to share that I initially read this thread title as 'princessing goats for 2021'. Now that would be an interesting hobby.

ReallySpicyCurry · 02/01/2021 09:32

Right, I weighed myself and I'm absolutely gutted because I appear to have put on 6lb over Christmas. In two weeks. No idea how, because I didn't overindulge that much. I thought some of it would be water weight but I've been low carbing/fasting since December 31st and would have expected to see a drop by now, so I can only assume it is in fact 6lb of fat. Fuck.

So. 16lb to lose until I'm at goal weight (which I want to achieve by my birthday in June)

I'm going on a loose version of low carb/keto boot camp from now until January 15th. Basically sticking to chicken, fish, leafy greens, fruit and veg, plus doing my usual 16:8 fast. It'll be tricky, and I know it's not for everyone, but this works for me as a "reset", because otherwise my sugar and carb cravings creep up until I'm back to square one.

FuckOffDailyFailure · 02/01/2021 09:47

Hi all!

@ReallySpicyCurry, oh so disheartening when that happens! It could still be water weight... Low carb doesn't always work quickly IME, especially if you've done it a few times before. My sister once did strict Atkins for two weeks and somehow managed to stay the same weight! It sounds as if you're doing everything you can, and I'm sure it'll pay off soon.

I'm concentrating on dry January plus exercise for now. I'll be eating healthier (ie no crap processed food), but no set diet...yet! I was going to join the lovely @thenewaveragebear1983 on her whole30 thread, but think I'll go a bit slower. I know myself too well and think if I try to do too much at once, I'm more inclined to press the fuck it button and eat the entire contents of my fridge, freezer and treat cupboard! Hats off to those getting on with it though.

@Turnedouttoes, how do you find the Olaplex? I keep thinking about getting it, but balk at the price a bit. Maybe should just go for it though.

LBB2020 · 02/01/2021 10:22

Morning all!
I managed to paint my nails yesterday for the first time since the baby was born! Also had a nice bubble bath, put on a face mask, exfoliated and moisturised. Off out for a walk now and am planning on tackling my wardrobe this afternoon and making a list of any gaps that need filling in it!

zenasfuck · 02/01/2021 11:39

Hi all, can I join in?

I have seriously let myself go this year, a combination of shielding, wfh and poor mental health have had a huge impact

So the things I need to address are
Diet - I have 3 stone to lose and will be calorie counting and aim to eat lots more veg and drink more water

Sleep - bed at 10.30 for me. I am permanently exhausted which then leads to me drinking too much coffee and being stuck to the sofa all day

Skincare - my skin is starting to show signs of ageing. I have just ordered some lovely new skincare and will religiously do this morning and night

Exercise - yoga every day and I'm going to try to walk more when I can (have a disability which affects my mobility so not going to stress about when I can't)

Read - more books rather than Facebook

Build my business/blog - I have a small business selling vegan and cruelty free bath bombs, soaps, shampoo bars etc. I'd like to build this up so it's a reliable income as my main job is not looking safe

I have taken a break from my uni course for this year as between work, home life, illness etc uni was just adding too much stress. So I plan to spend the break getting myself fit and healthy and in a better position mentally

Karcheer · 02/01/2021 11:40

@catpoooffender isn’t that what they did on the tkmaxx advert Grin

doadeer · 02/01/2021 12:43

I'll join please!
Lots similar to @zenasfuck !

✅ Lose 1 stone leftover baby weight
✅ Get more sleep (without having a wine as this affects my sleep)
✅ I have a small business on the side selling yoga clothes - invest more in this
✅ little and often exercise, I'm recovering from a bad hip and back injury so walking still problematic but I need to do more pilates.
✅ Style my hair more, I'm always so happy when I've done it and it's not just a messy bun.

I love my skincare routine and my skin is best it's ever been so that's one thing I do!

Tehmina23 · 02/01/2021 12:57

Yesterday was a day off work so I had 1500 calories as planned, & went for a walk up a hill.
I then did 1 set of reps with my hand weights (only 3kg each!) which was exhausting; I'm so out of condition!!

I followed my new night time routine of pjs on early, clean & floss teeth, cleanse face & apply serum, eye cream & night cream, went to bed at a set time and switched the lights off.

My skin looked much better for it & I felt better too... I've been so used to falling asleep in my clothes with the lights on, waking up at 1am then going back to bed & not sleeping properly or looking after my skin.

peaceanddove · 02/01/2021 13:10

Oh thank God, I so need this thread.

I want to lose the 7lbs I put back on over Xmas, already lost 3lbs which is encouraging. Then the minute life returns to (vaguely) normal, this is the year I get a tummy tuck. My legs, bum, hips and arms are a slim size 12. My feckin' stomach is a saggy size 16! No more. It's going!

I had early stage breast cancer last year, so have had to give up my HRT [gnashed teeth] which means my face is aging, fast! So 2021 is the year I bring in the big guns and start getting Botox, too.

Other than that, I'm aiming to drink at least 3 pints of water a day (+ tea/coffees) and cut way back on sugar and carbs. I did this last October and my fingers stopped being swollen in the mornings.

catpoooffender · 02/01/2021 13:17
@catpoooffender isn’t that what they did on the tkmaxx advert Grin
So it is!! I hadn't seen that before 😆

Turnedouttoes · 02/01/2021 21:26

@FuckOffDailyFailure I have no idea, I never use it as it’s so expensive 😂 but I’m going to use the bottle I have regularly and see what happens. I did read somewhere that even though it says to use on your whole head that’s actually a waste and it’s just the ends that need it.

I thought of another one today, remember to wear sunglasses every day so I stop squinting and encouraging wrinkles

Carriemac · 03/01/2021 10:13

I'm
Starting whole30 on the 14th so am cutting down on caffeine and sugar in preparation. Want to lose a stone by end February

ReallySpicyCurry · 03/01/2021 12:13

4lb off overnight, thank goodness - it was mostly water weight after all!

I'm absolutely exhausted today though, don't know why - just no energy at all.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/01/2021 13:04

Seriously 4lb in 24 hours Shock
Safe loss is 2lb a week

I'm putting forward the reason you feel crap is dehydration which is dangerous . Don't risk your health for a quick fix .

ReallySpicyCurry · 03/01/2021 13:25

No, I have endometriosis and ovarian cysts, so I can go up or down up to 8lb in a few days, depending on what time of the month it is. It's probably the cause of the exhaustion too, come to think of it.

FuckOffDailyFailure · 03/01/2021 13:29

I think a quick loss is ok when it went on quickly too. Probably water weight. But do be careful about hydration and that you aren't undereating too of course!

All fine here. Second day of dry jan for me, as I started a day later. I've had quite a good day's healthy eating. Peanut butter and brown toast for breakfast and then salmon fillets with a sort of hash / mash thing, made out of leftover jacket potatoes and broccoli. Had some fruit as a snack and even had a Brew without sugar.

Other than that, I'm planning a dumbbell session in a minute. I also painted my nails.

OP posts:
LemonSquirtInTheEyeOfLife · 04/01/2021 11:16

Back to it today - I've been in bed ill for a few days, so no exercise or anything. I did do a (reduced) skincare routine most days though. Still feeling slightly crap but I'll be fine by teatime. Not hungry yet, feeling a bit sick as worried about DD, she really struggled last lockdown due to school closure. Didn't sleep well. Got a cup of decaff tea though. (I've been been off caffeine for almost 20 years, it's not a recent thing!)

Come to the conclusion that all chocolate bars taste shit & disappointing. Not sure if it's my medication or my natural fussiness re: sweet food. I am still enjoying cocoa, & hot chocolate made with milk & unrefined cocoa liquor. It could be the medication though, last time I went off something it was years before it tasted ok again. I'm trying to see this as a good thing but am really just Sad
