Sale buys - indulge me I’m sick

I’ve been in bed all Christmas and on strong antibiotics so have spent far too much time on the internet.... shopping.
I’m interested to know what people are buying. I’m not necessarily looking bargains so much as interesting pieces and ideas for styling them.
I’ve ordered three things so far... and will now stop...
A turquoise satin midi skirt (Wolf and Badger)
A muted pink oversized sweatshirt with pleated sleeves (also Wolf and Badger)
A black oversized (yes it’s a theme) jumper dress from Arket that I plan to wear over the satin midi or incorporate into the mumsnet “Swedish Architect” look. I have half an idea that the sweatshirt will go over the midi too but that would be bold.
What have all you lovely people been buying?
Also any ideas how I can style a turquoise satin (not pleated) midi would be appreciated.

I think when I placed my John Lewis order it was quoting up to 10 working days for delivery, possibly even longer.

Two tops from Bam are keepers
I love the merino and bamboo, they are so soft and the hoody in the picture (now OOS). I will be wearing it for yoga not skiing though.

@NeedWineNow

Has anyone had their John Lewis deliveries turn up? I ordered on 27 December, got the confirmation email but when I click on the tracking it keeps saying that the server isn't responding.
Mine arrived yesterday.
woodhill · 03/01/2021 13:20

John Lewis is brilliant if you c&c from Waitrose - a couple of days

drspouse · 03/01/2021 13:31

We click and collect from Booths, also v handy.

@CaveMum

First sale purchase arrived this afternoon! Black wrap dress by Conquistador via Wolf & Badger.

I love it! Very elegant and easily Vera table for work or a night out.

That dress is beautiful!
NeedWineNow · 03/01/2021 14:43

Thanks all. I'll give JL another couple of days and then give them a ring.

I’ve got these on order, 40% off at the moment: ellaandme.co.uk/

Has anyone ever ordered from The Double F (assuming it's Italian or similar?) - they have a Saint Laurent sequin mini dress with long sleeves and a flared skirt that I absolutely adore but I've just spotted you have to pay some kind of consumption tax that I've never spotted previously when shopping online.

Could it be a Brexit-related import/export tax?

Keeping true to my enabler self, Pure Collection are offering an extra 10% off their sale items with code CANDY10. Might have just bought a few things Blush

Look Fantastic have a flash sale on between 7pm-10pm tonight. 50% of RRP on selected products if you use the code SALE50. Just picked up a Laura Mercier eye shadow palette for £22.05!

Someaddedsugar · 03/01/2021 19:51

Thanks @CaveMum - I hadn't thought of that but it would make total sense!

It's one of those dresses where I've looked at it for months and on that particular site it's 60-70% off what it's on Net a Porter for!

I just don't really want to pay the tax and lose it if I need to return it... Currently debating ordering from a UK site and sending it back if it fits to re-order from the European site!

SparklingLime · 03/01/2021 20:03

I’m wary of Look Fantastic now - thread on here about problems and frustrated customers on Trustpilot.

evilharpy · 03/01/2021 20:14

My Mint Velvet coat turned up today, it's lovely and surprisingly warm.

CaveMum · 03/01/2021 20:23

I’ve never had any issues with Look Fantastic, I buy all my LRP skincare from there.

Really enjoying hearing about all your lovely sale buys, and it’s nice to see what a range of styles we are all choosing.
I’ve moved on to garden shopping now and ordering plants for the spring for my little garden. I really got into gardening in the last lockdown, I’m not good at it but I’m enjoying the planning. And obviously I will look fabulous whilst I am doing it 🤣

Joules stuff (yes, I love a bit of frump-wear Wink), is due to arrive today! A gilet and the knitted cape / jumper / poncho thingy. I'm not sure how the colour will look on me, but I'm hopeful. Looks cosy. I need all the layers I can get at the moment.

I keep looking to buy for the garden too, but furniture not plants. We built a big patio in lockdown and now need an outdoor table to seat 6 and a large corner sofa to seat 8.

Was hoping for some bargains but not much is even in stock.

Procrastatron · 04/01/2021 10:43

@shipperssss we bought ours from Maize Living last summer and they still have some offers on. £££ to start with though.

Monica Vinader has some good reductions on silver jewellery.

FuckOffDailyFailure · 04/01/2021 12:35

Joules order arrived. The gilet is great, the jumper thing is not! One out of two isn't bad and it's a really easy returns process, so I'm happy enough.

Barmbraic · 04/01/2021 14:29

I'm always in search of a warm gilet.. do you have a link to the Joules one?

CatherineTheNotSoGreat · 04/01/2021 14:43

I've been looking at the 2-in-1 Allsaints dress for a while, it's lovely. @StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind can I ask is it cut on the bias? I've been dithering because bias cut is a real no for me.
