Sale buys - indulge me I’m sick

I’ve been in bed all Christmas and on strong antibiotics so have spent far too much time on the internet.... shopping.
I’m interested to know what people are buying. I’m not necessarily looking bargains so much as interesting pieces and ideas for styling them.
I’ve ordered three things so far... and will now stop...
A turquoise satin midi skirt (Wolf and Badger)
A muted pink oversized sweatshirt with pleated sleeves (also Wolf and Badger)
A black oversized (yes it’s a theme) jumper dress from Arket that I plan to wear over the satin midi or incorporate into the mumsnet “Swedish Architect” look. I have half an idea that the sweatshirt will go over the midi too but that would be bold.
What have all you lovely people been buying?
Also any ideas how I can style a turquoise satin (not pleated) midi would be appreciated.

I've been looking at the 2-in-1 Allsaints dress for a while, it's lovely. *@StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind* can I ask is it cut on the bias? I've been dithering because bias cut is a real no for me.

@CatherineTheNotSoGreat it doesn't say in the details if it's bias cut does it, and I thought it would have done!

I've barely worn the dress myself yet but have just had a look for you- it's quite hard to tell but it does look ever so slightly that the grain is diagonal and the dress is very flowy with a lot of movement- I think it might be cut on the bias but wouldn't like to say 100%

@CatherineTheNotSoGreat it is a lovely dress... even on me at 5ft4 and not at my slimmest at the moment! I'm usually a size 8 but continual guzzling of cider throughout furlough/lockdowns in 2020 means I'm more of a size 10 now. I ordered the medium, which fits now but will look even better once I'm back to my usual size (am cutting out the booze and exercising more in a new year health kick).

That’s handy to know re sizing. I would probably have order the Small - I’m a 10, but I’ll order the M. I doubt it will suit but I will try. Enjoy wearing it!

My Aldo boots are going back by my All Saints biker boots are the boots of my dreams, even though despite being half price they are more than I wanted to pay. Most ankle boots come slightly too high and cut my legs off making them look stumpy but these are low enough that you can still see the one slim part of my legs

They are very comfortable too, despite the 10cm heel.

Which All Saints boots did you get? I bought Franka boots recently and they are the most beautiful lovely comfy boots ever.

Mine are slightly less practical- Sarris Chelsea boots.

Ooh those are gorgeous. Once upon a time (pre March) I could have walked in those without breaking my neck. I love them.

@NeedWineNow my John Lewis order took 10 days so must just be a Christmas effect.
Most of my JL sale buys are going back , so hard to gauge sizes and the coats were just too big. The hiking style boots are 100% me though and are staying:

Ah shame @Ponks. Believe it or not I'm sending back my Hush coat of dreams as it's too big as well. I really really really wanted to keep it but had to accept that it just didn't fit

I'm so sad/mad! I managed to snaffle some great bargains in the Sezane archives sale just after Christmas. I was expecting them to take a while to reach me (that was fine) but just been told that something went wrong with the delivery and it has been returned to sender and Sezane won't send it out again :-( I can't buy again as all out of stock now :-(

Obviously not the end of the world but I was really looking forward to my parcel arriving with lovely new things!

My final stash of buys has arrived from Pure & Ebay. Keeping them all! The Ebay buy - a Baukjen dress, BNWT - is a tad tight fitting but I suspect losing the Christmas gain will sort that out!

I’m now stalking the sale items I bookmarked that were sold out in my size hoping for returns to appear on the websites.

Some J Brand jeans from Selfridges reduced to £100 is my greatest buy so far. Oh and Dune shoes which for some reason really suit my feet

@BangingOn haha me too! Managed to get some stuff in my size from hush that was previously all sold out. Not sure whether it will suit me but free returns.
