I’ve been in bed all Christmas and on strong antibiotics so have spent far too much time on the internet.... shopping.
I’m interested to know what people are buying. I’m not necessarily looking bargains so much as interesting pieces and ideas for styling them.
I’ve ordered three things so far... and will now stop...
A turquoise satin midi skirt (Wolf and Badger)
A muted pink oversized sweatshirt with pleated sleeves (also Wolf and Badger)
A black oversized (yes it’s a theme) jumper dress from Arket that I plan to wear over the satin midi or incorporate into the mumsnet “Swedish Architect” look. I have half an idea that the sweatshirt will go over the midi too but that would be bold.
What have all you lovely people been buying?
Also any ideas how I can style a turquoise satin (not pleated) midi would be appreciated.

I’ve bought some black leather ankle boots from clarks a black knitted dress and cardi from uniglo, a bumbag from all saints and a biker jacket from goosecraft oh and some snag tights I think everything has been 50% off I’m really pleased, fingers crossed that they fit now, this thread is great for new ideas and new new brands that I’ve never heard of.

CaveMum · 01/01/2021 17:45

I’ve just bought a Seamstress of Bloomsbury dress on EBay Blush It’s BNWT and I paid less than 50% of RRP. I’ve been eyeing up their stuff for a while so I guess we’ll see if it is what I’m looking for.

This is the listing picture. Just hope I can carry off the colour!

@CaveMum lovely dress, do you have a link please?

bendmeoverbackwards · 01/01/2021 23:13

Great thread!

I bought a navy jersey dress from People Tree and a half price cashmere scarf from John Lewis.

Oh sorry @CaveMum I meant the knit dress from Wolf and Badger

CaveMum · 01/01/2021 23:19

Oops sorry! Here you go www.wolfandbadger.com/uk/evie-sparkle-spot-knit-dress/

I bought this handbag:
gb.maxmara.com/p-5516060406005-tattico-black
I’d been lusting over it for a while. It was delivered today and it’s bloody gorgeous.

I really want some nice oversized jumpers but I only like cowl neck or V neck and I’m really struggling to find anything decent.

CaveMum · 01/01/2021 23:54

Evidently I have purchased too many dresses 😂

MerryGoRoundBrain · 01/01/2021 23:55

Today? No, it was delivered yesterday. Too much gin, clearly Blush

I am really enjoying seeing everyone’s purchases. I’m starting to feel guilty about how much I’ve bought, but trying to convince myself I’m being premature with the guilt until it’s all arrived and I’ve decided what I’m keeping!

I used the ASOS extra 21% off code last night to order a black leather biker jacket. I have a beautiful Whistles leather jacket in a sort of dark burgundy/brown colour (not quite oxblood) which I adore but want something in a more versatile colour. My mutton-o-meter was pinging a little when I ordered a biker style so went for a cheap River Island one that gets good reviews.

DS has even more than I do from the sales- half his Abercrombie and Fitch order has arrived and I’m really impressed with the quality and softness of the tops. Beau Loves tops and Hummel trainers hopefully arriving today and some Beau Hudson jegs on their way from Australia. He’s had a massive growth spurt and suddenly nothing fits.

shipperssss · 02/01/2021 10:14

I used to ASOS 21% discount to order DH a hoodie and some t-shirts. I manage to shrink a lot of his clothes 😂 and accidentally a pair of tie dye Adidas trainers fell into the bag for me!
I have also ordered a new pair of Joules Wellibobs, some jeans and a pinktuck shirt from Topshop (maternity) and baby things from Matalan.

I should probably stop now as baby no. 3 is going to actually need some stuff when it comes in March/April, best get saving...

FuckOffDailyFailure · 02/01/2021 10:30

DH returned all his presents from me! I'd spent loads. I swear he doesn't hate me..I don't think..., he just hates accumulating stuff! I've tried to offer him other things but he won't have it, so I'm feeling richer today. Kind of a sad way to feel richer, but hey ho. Lesson learnt. I had already learnt this same lesson, many years ago, (we met when we were 18 and 19), but for some reason decided to get him quite a few expensive nice things this year. Lesson learnt...again. Remind me next year if you see me on the "what are you getting your DH for Christmas" threads Xmas Blush.

Thanks, nice dress

Tehmina23 · 02/01/2021 13:02

On Etsy I bought a Szeiler 1950s trinket box which had £4.50 off, it's pretty & I collect Szeiler pottery (usually the cats!).
I can use the box for earrings.

I was tempted by some silver flip flops with 10% off at Accessorize & some hair scrunchies plus a sterling silver anklet but I managed to talk myself out of it.
As I don't really need more flip flops or scrunchies & the ankle chain looked a bit small.

Tehmina23 · 02/01/2021 13:04

@FuckOffDailyFailure sorry to hear your DH returned all your presents but just think it'll be cheaper next year just buy him chocolate & alcohol.

Thanks! He was very sweet about it. Especially his big present. But he said, send it back and buy yourself something with the money...the words red flag and bull spring to mind Xmas Wink.

Oh well. You're right. Food and booze next year. It'll be much less wrapping too!

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 02/01/2021 16:28

I had a coat from Monsoon in my basket, on for it to come off the sale while I dithered Confused it'll surely be back in a sale, but who's to say when!

NeedWineNow · 02/01/2021 18:05

Two of my sale packages turned up today. WH Smith's (cards and a calendar - very unexciting).

My Cos dress on the other hand is lovely. Link below. It looks very droopy on the model but it is lovely on, really cool and airy. It will be perfect for Greece in August (ever the optimist!).

BangingOn · 02/01/2021 19:33

My ASOS parcel has arrived- the ankle boots are going back as they are slightly too high in the legs and cut me off at the slimmest part giving me cankles Hmm but the leather biker jacket is a keeper.

Sexnotgender · 02/01/2021 20:02

My lovely cashmere hat from John Lewis arrived today, perfect for the freezing weather!

BangingOn · 02/01/2021 22:45

They are all lovely. I’ve kept everything I’ve ordered from Baukjen this sale, I love their fabric and the way it hangs.

NeedWineNow · 03/01/2021 11:22

Has anyone had their John Lewis deliveries turn up? I ordered on 27 December, got the confirmation email but when I click on the tracking it keeps saying that the server isn't responding.
