Sale buys - indulge me I’m sick

I’ve been in bed all Christmas and on strong antibiotics so have spent far too much time on the internet.... shopping.
I’m interested to know what people are buying. I’m not necessarily looking bargains so much as interesting pieces and ideas for styling them.
I’ve ordered three things so far... and will now stop...
A turquoise satin midi skirt (Wolf and Badger)
A muted pink oversized sweatshirt with pleated sleeves (also Wolf and Badger)
A black oversized (yes it’s a theme) jumper dress from Arket that I plan to wear over the satin midi or incorporate into the mumsnet “Swedish Architect” look. I have half an idea that the sweatshirt will go over the midi too but that would be bold.
What have all you lovely people been buying?
Also any ideas how I can style a turquoise satin (not pleated) midi would be appreciated.

I'm in that awkward post-baby, not in maternity clothes but not at my normal size phase so am a bit restricted in what I can buy.

OH bought me a lovely Vivienne Westwood purse for xmas but the colour was a bit boring so I'm sending it back and rebuying a very lairy one in the 50% off sale (a gorgeous scarf may have also slipped into the basket).

When buying these yesterday I noticed the white cocktail dress I had my eye on for my low key covid wedding was also 50% off (£400 instead of £800) so I've gone for it, hopefully I can lose the last few kg by the time they're booking weddings again. It's sold out in every size now so I'm really glad I did.

desperatehousewife21 · 27/12/2020 08:25

I’ve just bought from ASOS:
Textured hood coat in black (£24 down from 60!)
Sweater dress in black
Grey long sleeve jersey jumper dress (both of these will be good as working from home)
2 pairs of socks and micro fishnet tights

Now I’m on the lookout for a new dressing gown.

troppibambini · 27/12/2020 08:32

So far I've bought
Gold and white veja trainers £55 from net a Porter
Black Nike trainers also net a Porter £40

I went into m and s on Xmas eve and grabbed a pair of their coated skinny jeggings to wear on Xmas day. I was really impressed so I've ordered them in grape and also some black skinny's and some blue straight legs.

Also a long puffa gilet from Zara
Black blazer Zara
Grey hoody with frill can't remember where from
Maybe silk Fred?
A leopard hoody with frill- bond

Thanks OP, I was looking for just such a thread!
Hope you are feeling better soon.

Lots of brands I don't know on here.

I pretty much buy all my clothes in the winter sales. I've gone a bit wild this year.

Assortment of jeans / black joggers / plain tees from Zara
Nude biker jacket and a black parka from whistles
Gilet from fat Face
Pumps from Adidas
Scarf from ME&EM

I'm teetering on 'buy' on some jigsaw knitwear...

Does anyone have any suggestions where I could find some warm walking trousers?

I was using a wardrobe app until lockdown 1 and found it really helped me to plan outfits. I've resolved to use it again now to make sure I get the most out of my new kit.

dudsville · 27/12/2020 08:35

I've ordered a couple of pairs of trousers and tops from seasalt and some odd bits from COS - literally. The pandemic and stressing purely for myself has brought out my desire for loud clothing, both in colour and prints.

bluerad · 27/12/2020 08:50

John Lewis - three dresses (Seasalt, JL, Live unlimited) two bras (Fantasie), two skirts Seasalt), one pair of shoes (Gabor), two jackets (JL)
M&S - two bras, one blouse, one jacket,
Next - three swimsuits (Speedo), one blouse (live unlimited), one dress (Boden), one jacket (White Stuff)

All bought early on Xmas eve. Hoping I'll be keeping at least one swimsuit, one dress and one bra and one jacket, though I expect I'll have to wait until at least the summer before the Next stuff arrives.
Also the M&S delivery dates are the week after next. JL appear to be the quickest.

Ellapaella · 27/12/2020 08:57

I've ordered a long cosy puffer coat from Jack Wolfskin. Had my eye on it for ages and it's finally gone in the sale.
Also ordered a Berber rug for my back room.
I want a couple of new light fittings as I've been doing stuff to the house this year so jeeping my eye out for some nice ones and spending a ridiculous amount of time looking at home and furniture sites.

shallbe · 27/12/2020 08:58

Add an Abercrombie sweater to my list now 🙈 backing away from the phone!

viccat · 27/12/2020 09:06

A linen blend jacket from Seasalt - had my eye on it since late summer and it was finally in the sale. Also a grey pebble kind of a necklace from there.

Some basics from Monki (a black jersey top and a striped top, a low v neck jumper, black velvet mini skirt and also a printed shirt dress for summer).

Two pairs of checked jersey trousers from M&S - kind of like smart joggers, perfect for WFH. Also charcoal leggings from there.

Barmbraic · 27/12/2020 09:49

Rocococo, what's the wardrobe app?

I've only bought a long puffs from zara. Hopefully it will be slightly less dressing gown than my actual dressing gown for work calls Blush

Rollergirl11 · 27/12/2020 10:36

I’ve ordered 2 pairs of leggings from Sweaty Betty, 1 pair of trousers from Mint Velvet and a jumper from Allsaints

DD has ordered a jumper and a cami top from Urban Outfitters and some cords from Monki

Procrastatron · 27/12/2020 10:59

Thank you for your kind wishes, antibiotics have kicked in and feeling better today if a little drained. I suppose the upside of all this is that I haven’t been up for eating and drinking so should still fit into my new clothes!

I had the late discovery of an M&S voucher last night (must have been sick to have overlooked a gift!). I don’t normally shop in M&S unless for pants but I have added a faux leather full-ish midi skirt and an oversized boxy fit grey cardigan to my haul. Quite excited about pairing the oversized pink hoodie with the faux leather skirt now.

@smeerf you must show us the cocktail dress, it sounds amazing!

@dudsville I am exactly the same. So much fun and colour in my wardrobe now.

So far I’ve only bought myself a new bag from Cambridge Satchel Company but am on the look out for some new pyjamas and a dressing gown! Recommendations appreciated!

RogueV · 27/12/2020 11:08

@shallbe

Why can’t I find anything for sale on the Lush website?

shallbe · 27/12/2020 11:14

@RogueV I went to the store (tier 3) Lush haven't done an online sale for a few years sadly.

Rocococo · 27/12/2020 11:47

@Barmbraic it's called Your Closet. I wanted stylebook but it's not on Android. It's not bad. I find it much more appealing to put outfits together on my phone rather than standing in front of the wardrobe in dispair...

Barmbraic · 27/12/2020 12:03

Thanks, I'll check it out

Procrastatron · 27/12/2020 17:15

@Rocococo and @Barmbraic
I’ve just downloaded stylebook and started cataloguing. Earlier up this thread someone recommended a way of styling certain items I’d bought and I realised I owned most of what they suggested. I need to get a grip on what I buy on clearly 😬

I've ordered a white summer dress from Cos - I am the eternal optimist. I've also got a Benefit mascara gift set from Look Fantastic. I could do with some new bras as I've lost nearly 1.5 stone, but can't get fitted at the moment so will leave them. I could also do with some new dance trainers but again I need to try them on as brands really differ. Trouble is I don't like the faff of sending things back.

AdventureCode · 27/12/2020 17:29

Today I've bought a black midi ribbed long sleeve dress with a tie waist. Two new bra's in the sale and some thongs.
Not much inspiring clothing out there really, its like we've missed autumn/winter and now spring fashion and its all about lounge wear.

CaveMum · 27/12/2020 18:19

I blame @Procrastatron entirely - having never heard of Wolf & Badger before I went for a snoop and came away £200 lighter with 2 dresses and 2 cashmere jumpers Blush

notwavingbutdrowning5 · 27/12/2020 18:41

I have plundered my local All Saints and come home with one of their jumper/satin slip dress combos in a lovely forest green. I'll have to have the dress part shortened as it's almost down to my ankles, which looks a bit Edwardian. I also got a deliciously soft oversized black fluffy cardigan there. And a pair of J Brand Alana skinnies that I ordered ages ago finally arrived on Christmas Eve. I ordered black and they arrived labelled Bluebird, which is slightly annoying - they seem to be black jean but a kind of blue rinse.

Other than this, I am hoping that Me + Em will have some decent bargains and Net-a-Porter will go to 70/80 per cent.

Procrastatron · 27/12/2020 18:55

Sorry @CaveMum Blush

Just spent another £57 on a long length black cardigan with white stars and an antique gold glass star lantern for my downstairs loo Grin
