I’ve been in bed all Christmas and on strong antibiotics so have spent far too much time on the internet.... shopping.
I’m interested to know what people are buying. I’m not necessarily looking bargains so much as interesting pieces and ideas for styling them.
I’ve ordered three things so far... and will now stop...
A turquoise satin midi skirt (Wolf and Badger)
A muted pink oversized sweatshirt with pleated sleeves (also Wolf and Badger)
A black oversized (yes it’s a theme) jumper dress from Arket that I plan to wear over the satin midi or incorporate into the mumsnet “Swedish Architect” look. I have half an idea that the sweatshirt will go over the midi too but that would be bold.
What have all you lovely people been buying?
Also any ideas how I can style a turquoise satin (not pleated) midi would be appreciated.

I bought some silk pajamas from jasmine silk as they offered 10%off www.jasminesilk.com/ladies-pure-silk-navy-pyjamas/p302

Just gone a bit mad in the Jigsaw sale. Too much to list but nice dresses and tops, most of which will go back probably like my autumn order! They offer a good service though I noticed no free postage this time.

For those of you who shop at Hush, does stuff get reduced a little further in time? I suppose the risk is they sell out. Quite fancying this dress www.johnlewis.com/hush-roxy-star-print-midi-dress-navy/p5128126

@CaveMum you must order it. It’s something about the colour (and the price) that makes it quite special.

Oh well, if you insist Wink

Love this thread! I have bought:
Teal with pink leopards on Cashmere Boden jumper from John Lewis which I spotted and instantly fell in love with.
Erborian BB cream set from Feelunique as I had a. sample before Christmas and its amazing!
Herringbone style blazer from Gap which I bought on a whim but it arrived yesterday and I LOVE it. amazing quality and down to £30 from £100!
A few bralettes from M&S (as an E cup bralettes would usually be a no no but I'm wfh for the foreseeable so...!)
Black and gold trainers from New Balance.

amiw · 30/12/2020 21:44

I just bought the hush dress. This thread......Blush

CaveMum · 30/12/2020 22:15

If anyone else is on the look out for cashmere, someone recommended this company on another thread. Apparently their sale usually goes to 70% so worth keeping an eye on www.chintiandparker.com

drspouse · 30/12/2020 22:34

Still £150!!!!
Thought parcel has come, not tried it on yet.

JaceLancs · 30/12/2020 22:57

I love chintiandparker although usually buy via tkmaxx!!
Tried on the poetry dress and it’s a keeper
Given up on boots - still looking for new bras - but 34 or 36g in a plunge style in boring nude, white or black are eluding me - or at least at sale prices

HelloDulling · 30/12/2020 23:12

The Hush purse with tiny stars that has been out of stock just came back in! Fingers crossed it actually arrives.

User9574 · 30/12/2020 23:25

I got an email from White Stuff saying 40 items were reduced further so bought 2 more cardigans Blush. 2/3 off. Free postage (over £30) really is a genius idea.

Most other things I bought are going back. I am being very picky and only keeping if I am sure.

I really wanted a drapey merino jumper from All Saints in black but size medium has gone. Will have to see if any returns.

I just won some white and cream Clarks brogues on ebay for £7.

I had fun last night looking up the Pantone 2021 colours of the year.

CaveMum · 31/12/2020 12:32

More buys arrived today. Disappointed with a dress from Anthropologie - very thin, cheap feeling fabric, plus couldn’t get the zip done up! So that’s going back!

Success was this knitted dress from Wolf & Badger - cozy but also a bit sparkly.

Nice dress @CaveMum

woodhill · 31/12/2020 12:51

My M&S bras gave me mono boob and horrid cleavage.

HelloDulling · 31/12/2020 13:51

Nothing had arrived!!

Fuckoffdailyfailure · 31/12/2020 14:21

Love that cave!

Wore my Seasalt boots out for the first time today and they're great. I'm glad I kept them.

I did have to return a couple of jumpers to M&S, as they just weren't worth the money in person. Quite mature of me to decide this, I feel Xmas Grin.

Gilet and another knit due to arrive today.

drspouse · 31/12/2020 14:29

Almost all my Thought jumpers are massive! Sending them back for a size 12 (I am really not a size 12). One tunic was nice this one and one jumper this one. Got pants and socks too, time to chuck out the holey ones.

JuneFromBethesda · 31/12/2020 14:40

My Fatface top, that I had my eye on for weeks, was horrid - on me, at any rate. Nothing wrong with the top but it didn't suit me at all. So that's going back.

The Fatface velvet jumpsuit is nice but not wow, and I think for £45 I need it to be a bit more special. So I'll probably send it back. If the price drops below £30 I might be tempted to buy it back!

The Hush coat is gorgeous. I love it and can't wait to have an excuse to wear it (it's too nice for my current outings which are either dog-walking or supermarket trips)

@CaveMum I don't need any more sale websites to look at! But I do love cashmere ... Blush

Procrastatron · 31/12/2020 16:21

I’ve now had all my sale/gift card deliveries....
Love my massive oversized Arket jumper, I will wear it over my white oversized (spotting a theme?) shirt for the ‘Swedish Architect’ look. In the pictures I have it over a tight fitting polo neck and that’s cool too.
Pleasantly surprised by M&S faux leather midi. Also have grey M&S boxy cropped fit cardigan which is fine but not wow. As it was voucher buy I’ll keep it and figure out how to liven it up.
My dilemma is my £18 satin skirt from Wolf and Badger (see pic) it’s very shiny but I quite like the look with the oversized Arket jumper (imagine platform black DMs and big hoop earrings). Thoughts and honesty on this appreciated.
P.s. currently wearing black jumper over faux leather midi in the house and feeling a bit too cool for school Grin

I think it’s a beautiful colour @Procrastatron and I like the look with the oversize top.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/12/2020 17:35

Love the big jumper! I don't like the skirt though, sorry.

Sexnotgender · 31/12/2020 17:38

I’ve bought:
Diamond and white gold earrings. I’ve always wanted proper diamond earrings.
No7 protect and perfect serum, was on offer and I used my points so free
Belt and bag for DH from Osprey
Clothes for DC from next and John Lewis

Sexnotgender · 31/12/2020 17:42

@CaveMum my DH bought me a lovely dressing gown from lands end if you’re still looking.

Procrastatron · 31/12/2020 19:31

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie thank you for your honesty, you are right. It’s too shiny and screams “I forgot to take my nighty off”. I can create a similar look with other things I already own.

I bought some sandals & no I don't have a winter break booked!

It's not so much the shiny that I don't like: it's more the colour AND the shiny AND the shape AND the length together. In something like a grey, khaki or deep burgundy and a slightly different shape, it could be fab.
