Can I still wear bodycon? Brutally honest answers please.

Have attached photos. I am a slim (size 8) hourglass. However I am also 45 and have given birth to 3 children. My stomach has a slight curve even with control panels in my tights or underwear.

Can I still wear bodycon? On a good day I think I can. On a bad day I worry I'm kidding myself. My friends won't tell me the truth.

I find the only people who posts these sort of things are the ones who know they look absolutely fine. It’s less ‘do I look ok in this’ and more ‘everyone please tell me how amazing they think I am

Grin Has to be said, I am yet to see one of these posts where I think, 'Actually you look dreadful. A gym membership is needed and a diet.'

Seriously OP you look great.

CorianderBlues · 09/11/2020 15:09

@CorianderBlues

3 kids?! You'd get away with that if you had no kids and you were 15 years younger.
Just wanted to say, that sounded really, but utterly unintentionally bitchy!!

Wasn't meant like that. I meant, you could say you were 15 years younger and had no kids and it would be believable.

Sorry if I offended.

I think that

It’s a real sign of insecurity and I would say indicative of an issue of some kind

TonTonMacoute · 09/11/2020 15:10

If you feel comfortable wearing it, wear it!

WorraLiberty · 09/11/2020 15:13

Of course you can OP, you have the figure for it so age doesn't matter!

I'm 51, 3 kids and still wear bodycon and if my figure remains the same, I'll probably be wearing it when I'm 60.

Gitfeatures · 09/11/2020 15:14

Great figure, horrible dress.

Redburnett · 09/11/2020 15:15

Yes, definitely. You have a lovely figure so show it off!

Dahlietta · 09/11/2020 15:17

Great figure, horrible dress
Yup.

Fouroclockonamarblemorning · 09/11/2020 15:17

You look blooming fantastic!

1940s · 09/11/2020 15:18

I can't believe your hands and décolletage are 45 years old!

ChippyPickledEggs · 09/11/2020 15:19

Well Jroseforever I never claimed to be issue free. Sometimes I do feel insecure. That's life, I guess.

I personally wouldn't wear bodycon, there are loads of far more flattering styles around. You're slim, you can have your pick of clothing. Why choose something that accentuates your belly and thighs?

What belly?! Comments like this are why women get labelled at bitchy.

blindinglyobviouslight · 09/11/2020 15:27

@CorianderBlues

I cannot in any way see how your sounds bitchy. Whoever said that, I have no idea where they are coming from. Maybe they misread it?

netstaller · 09/11/2020 15:28

Absolutely! You look great!

ChippyPickledEggs · 09/11/2020 15:30

CorianderBlues I knew what you meant - it's ok! And thank you. x

You have an amazing figure and can wear whatever you like.

However the dress is possibly a little long on you- you mention being petite.

Despite being very slim fitting, it somehow drowns you- I think it should stop at the point it opens up at the bottom button.

That said, with your face and hair in the picture I might totally change my mind!

ViciousJackdaw · 09/11/2020 15:31

I can't see what's so 'horrible' and 'bogging' about that dress - to me it seems quite plain and inoffensive (in a good way btw). I like the line of buttons down the front, it is elongating.

I will say one thing though - perhaps try a control slip rather than briefs or tights. You can see a slight outline of something around the crotch area and a slip would eliminate this.

onwheels · 09/11/2020 15:32

yes, you have a good enough body for body con.

i know the whole point of body con is close fit but its very small looking on you.

whats the fabric like - is it very thick material?

maplesyruplover · 09/11/2020 15:34

You have an amazing figure, go for it!

DavetheCat2001 · 09/11/2020 15:34

🙄

ChippyPickledEggs · 09/11/2020 15:34

Well Vicious that was kind of my thinking - that it was plain and somehow 'conservative', which is what I tend to prefer if the fit is tighter.

OP posts:
ChippyPickledEggs · 09/11/2020 15:36

Onwheels yes the material is fairly thick and synthetic. The dress was from Karen Millen so original price wasn't cheap.

could you order the next size up? Or order one just on the knee or slightly below knee. you have a good shape, just think the dress could be improved on

Mella91 · 09/11/2020 15:40

You look amazing!!!! Of course you can

WorraLiberty · 09/11/2020 15:40

IMO you don't need another size up OP.

I think the fit is fine.
