Have attached photos. I am a slim (size 8) hourglass. However I am also 45 and have given birth to 3 children. My stomach has a slight curve even with control panels in my tights or underwear.

Can I still wear bodycon? On a good day I think I can. On a bad day I worry I'm kidding myself. My friends won't tell me the truth.

I don't think the dress was designed for an ample bum. This means that the fabric is overstretched on the tops of the thighs and lower belly in an unflattering way. I think it fits you well and looks great from the waist up, its just the area from the top of the hip to the mid/upper thigh where it is a bit too tight.

I have this issue too, there are better dresses out there for you.

If the stipulation is a black dress - then surely that, combined with the fact that you’re a size 8 with a lovely, hourglass figure - means the world is your oyster.

Why fixate on such an unappealing dress?

Well my post wasn't really about the dress, to be fair. It's just become about the dress.

I wore something else to work today Grin

Yes definitely. Smile

💯 yes

You can't wear that dress because it is too small, although you have a good figure and would look better in one that fitted correctly.

How irritating that the next size up will be too big. It's a pet bug of mine this small, medium, large sizing because I too fall in between sizes.

AllByMySelfDontWannaBe · 15/11/2020 14:29

I think you look more like a size 10 than a size 8 which is why you're getting comments about the dress being unflattering (it's just too small) and why you're wondering whether you can still bodycon. Go up a size and rock it!

Er, yuh!

I like the dress and I think you look great!
