How many coats do we think she has?

Thank you Maireas & love the title!
Have put a link on the previous thread for you (if you don't mind me helping out)

Maireas · 20/10/2020 19:22

Thank you, Tracy! There's a bloomin Tesco ad kept dropping down every time I tried! Maddening.

Thanks for the new thread Maireas.

In answer to the question in the thread title: not much, if we're thinking of the very long one she wore today. I agree with PPs that it's a real 90s length. I had a long grey coat from Next which I imagined was the height of sophistication. Grin

Annasgirl · 20/10/2020 19:27

Oh I really thought that coat was hideous to-day - totally the wrong length - I'm surprised she wasn't wearing laced up ankle boots with a heel and then it really would be a homage to 1990's workwear. And if it looked bad on Kate, can you imagine how it would look on an average height woman?

Horsemad · 20/10/2020 19:27

Thanks for the new thread. And a nifty bit of linking by Tracy there, just nicking the final post! 😆

Maireas · 20/10/2020 19:27

I had a very long navy one, double breasted, velvet collar, down to my shiny wee court shoes. Where on earth does Kate keep all this stuff, and how does she remember what she's got???

EastonSarah · 20/10/2020 19:30

I imagine there's a team with a database/spreadsheet @Maireas 🤣

But oh to have a big, beautiful coat collection with the best of the high street and some made to measure designer pieces.

itswinetime · 20/10/2020 19:30

I didn't hate the red coat but I do agree the amount of coats she has is mind blowing....no we think she keeps them all or is there a very lucky charity shop near Kensington.

Thanks for the new thread

Horsemad · 20/10/2020 19:31

Bet it's all in a massive climate controlled aircraft hangar somewhere! 🤣😂

RomaineCalm · 20/10/2020 19:34

Love Kate in red but not keen on the low neckline and the length of today's coat.

I much prefer the navy coat that's on the previous thread with the red scarf and skirt.

Maireas · 20/10/2020 19:34

True, Horsemad I read (in a Paul Burrell book 😁) that Diana had a storage room for white blouses alone. When she ran out of clothes hanging space the staff had to give up their sitting room 🙁

Now that would be useful to stop Charlotte getting her mitts on it to play dress up GrinGrin

EastonSarah · 20/10/2020 19:35

Claudia Schiffer has one of those!

RomaineCalm · 20/10/2020 19:36

On a positive note though at least we're seeing some different looks even if not all of them quite work. Far better than all of the coat dresses that we had previously.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/10/2020 19:38

And knowing what little kids are like, George & Louis probably join in too.
There seems to be something rather alluring about high heels to both little girls & boys (remembering DD & my friend's DS aged 3 trying on the shoes on in New Look)

W&K spotted filming with Kate Garraway today

Royal style - how we love Kate in a red coat
mrscampbellblackagain · 20/10/2020 19:55

God, honestly Kate!! The black tuxedo at the Nat History was sublime and today she is channelling the handmaid's tale in that hideous red coat. And that blue suit - does she not have a 360 mirror??

As an aside, had a lot of driving to do today so downloaded the robert lacey book as have so many credits on audible - it is dreadful in terms of fact checking but the re-telling of the charles and di years, wowsers!

Meghan also looked fab in her black tuxedo - such a great look on both of them.

itswinetime · 20/10/2020 20:48

The suit ffrom the Kate garroway pics looks good from a distance I agree I like that she is trying new things.

Balloondog · 20/10/2020 21:41

Phew! I've found you all 😁 Thanks for the new thread @Maireas and for linking @TracyBeakerSoYeah.

I completely agree that it's nice to see Kate in some different looks (I love a coat dress but good lord, even I was bored!) but while I didn't mind the long red coat today, that blue suit is just so deathly dull. Kate Garaway looks much nicer. I'd love to see Kate experiment with some slightly funkier, less grumpy looks - although I reckon KG's dress would suit Sophie really well.

Maireas · 20/10/2020 21:46

Yikes. The back of that blue suit does not look good.
I'm tempted by the Robert Lacey book. Keep us posted on that, mrscampbell

Well done on new thread, placemarking and thanking 😁 Have no contributions whatsoever myself 😕

DigOutThoseLemonHandWipes · 20/10/2020 21:47

Kate Garaway looks much nicer. In nude court shoes and patterned frilly looking dress - both things that Kate is regularly criticised on here for wearing!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/10/2020 21:59

I know she's not royal (apart from the first name) but I really hope that Kate Garraway's DH Derek gets better soon. Poor man has been in hospital since March with Covid.
Very hard for all the family.

latedecember1963 · 20/10/2020 22:02

Thankyou for the new thread and all the lovely photos. I like Kate's red coat and blue suit.

GrouchyKiwi · 20/10/2020 22:06

I like the red coat, length and all. It looks cosy and cheerful.

I like to think of Kate having a wardrobe system like Cher's in Clueless.
