This is a lovely group- I'm Irish, so dont even have a stake in the royal family. But the style is interesting, and this is a nice respite from contentious subjects.

I've said this a few times before (and not Kate's fondness for high necks that look like they're strangling her, although now I've mentioned it.....) but I think these threads work so well because we're such a mixed bunch from different countries and views of royalty and fashion. We rock!

I agree frugal. Also because QueenoftheAndals did a great job of setting out and enforcing the ground rules of critiquing the clothes not the women, and I think most people stick to that, and the tone here is nearly always warm, chatty and civil - unlike some other bits of MN!

Also, it does seem an odd relationship with Albert. Obviously , none of us really know ... but 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Wow! Interesting pics! They look happy and relaxed and the twins are sweet. They really look like Charlene. Who knows, maybe she gave him the red crocs as a Christmas gift!

I'm liking Albert in his red Crocs, all dressed in red, that must be Albert's attempt at an alternative Santa outfit.

Looks as though all the girls got boots for Christmas! Why do so many women stand for photos with legs & feet crossed like the girl far left? Are they told it makes them look slimmer, or are they all dying for a pee? Answers on a postcard!

Albert?! That tight red outfit finished off with crocs! He might have a palace and be a prince but not even that would make me fancy him in that outfit!😱😂
I loved seeing HMQ speech and thought she was wearing a beautiful huge jellyfish diamond brooch! I thought how very Debo Devonshire and I loved it! Can anyone clarify what brooch it was-I'm guessing not really a jellyfish, but some constellation with trailing diamonds...wish it was a jellyfish though...

The brooch was from the Queen Mother's collection and is diamonds and mother of pearl. Very pretty and did look like a jelly fish! Loved the strong purple colour of her dress. No crocs for Elizabeth, I'm guessing!

I'm wondering if Albert is hoping to be elected as the next Pope, so he's giving red shoes a trial run, as it were!

Thanks Maireas. I thought she looked fabulous, loved her vivid dress colour. Bound to have on her trusty black chunky low heel court shoes, she's a traditionalist, bless her.
I liked her 1 photo approach this year to avoid any over-sensitive accusations that one relative was more important than another - smart move, HMQ!
I totally got a lump in the throat at her saying all many of us want is a squeeze of a hand and togetherness.

I think both this speech and the one at the start of the pandemic have been very sensitive, but measured and touching.

I did wonder that myself about her mental health but didn't want to mention it after being chastised over tit flaps

I really enjoyed that - some lovely looks. My preference is for the ruby red coat and hat, but she looks elegant in all the pictures. I like her hair in that sort of woven bun, it's striking.
